Not that sexy.

Disagree. I use my sticks almost exclusively for shmups and the 360 HRAP 3 SE is about as perfect as I would want. And it looks damn nice too.

Also, a question for anybody who might know.

I'm looking to convert a HRAP or TE stick into something suitable for a Wii. Would it be possible to rip out the innards and cord of the cheapy Hori Wii stick and install it in one of these...or put it into a Norris arcade box?

I had my problems with the picture stuff. For some reason the themplate I found on Shoryuken didn't fit. So I decided to just exchange the other stuff.

Nice! Matches great with your avatar

Guys, I'm planning to get the Hori Fighting Stick 3.
From what I've read, it seems there are some problem for this stick if you use it with PC.
Some said it can't work at all, some said you'll need a special driver, some said it's plug and play.

What about you guys? Any experience with HFS3 + Vista/XP?
Or do you have any other recommendation for PC sticks? Budget around 50-60$, and not too heavy since I don't want to pay extra shipping.

dont buy this. Buy the street fighter 4 normal fight stick.

You mean this one?
No, he means the regular (non-Sanwa) MadCatz Fightstick.

The one you linked to is a reskinned Hori Real Arcade Pro 3, which is good and has a Sanwa joystick. The buttons are crappy but can be swapped easily.

I see. Anyway, those sticks are too much for my budget.
My range is around 50-60$ and MUST be PC compatible. Any recommendation?

Here's a nice resource by the creator of this thread

http://sdtekken.com/tech-area/arcade-sticks/arcade-stick-ranking/

PC-compatible Regular FightStick is a bit out of your price range, but $70 with free shipping from amazon isn't bad.
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001M22WLU/?tag=neogaf0e-20

Roydsstick EX for PC/PS3 is $60 but you have to pay shipping
http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-zl-49-en-70-341i.html

both are better choices than the Fighting Stick 3

Yay! Got my confirmation from Capcom! Hopefully it ships on time.

My wife is gonna destroy me :'(

Ha! My wife was like "as long as I get the fight pad..." And it has to be the Chun Li one or it's a bust. Amazon saved me!

I have a HRAP 3 modded full Sanwa with a custom Viewlix layout top coming in the mail, but man, I am really tempted to get the HRAP EX SE. 13500 is a lot of money for a stick, unless MarkMan wants to help me get a tournament stick out to Japan.

Looks like Capcom has sold out on TE's for both systems.

I think capcom might be canceling tournament stick pre-orders. I ordered yesterday, and got my order conformation email.

I just check my order history in the capcom store and this is what it shows:

Hmm, mine isn't showing that yet. *knock on wood*

good thing i didn't cancel my other preorders. still waiting for my confirmation email from capcom.

i just see order submitted. for mine. It's the page after you click Order history right?

anyways, i preordered right when MarkMan posted the link.

wait a min, the unsubmitted order is for orders you had in the cart but you didnt submit it.

i just checked and there's an unsubmitted order for the pads i had in my cart but i didn't submit those orders. i don't think unsubmitted means your order is cancelled.

edit: my theory is confirmed. i ordered at 10am this morning and i just got my order confirmation email. woot.

I guess I should be glad I got my Capcom store pre-order on the TE to go through. I did just see on CAG that there's a way to get 10% off purchases on their site, but obviously there's no way I'm going to cancel to try and pre-order again. Now to see how my Amazon pre-order pans out.

You're right. Just checked the shopping cart:lol

I went on this morning to check the status of my order must of added it without realizing it.

Just going thru the thread trying to catch up on info before ordering my stick, and I landed across the HRAP-EX which looks stunning besides the headset jack but I could live with that.

I still don't know what to get, stick experts on GAF shop for me!! :D

What's your price range and expectations?

The price doesn't matter, as for expectations customization, durability.
If price is no issue, get yourself a MadCatz FightStick TE. Excellent customization options, both functionally and aesthetically.

As a satisfied owner of an HRAP.EX, I can vouch for it. However, it loses to the FSTE on customization because, as great the Sanwa JLF joystick it comes with is, it is soldered. Buttons are easy to rearrange to your liking (default layout SUCKS) and swap for Sanwa because they use quick disconnects though.

If you would like to go full Sanwa with an HRAP.EX, it'll probably end up costing more than the FSTE. Also, the PCB in the HRAP.EX is not common ground, so you can't dual mod it for PS3 and 360 like you could conceivably with a 360 FSTE and toodles' cthulhu board.

I don't know if anyone has seen the guts of an HRAPEX-SE (to judge it on moddability), but it's confirmed full Seimitsu.

But the real question now, can I trust the Madcatz stick? Didn't they attempt a stick before and fail?

As of late they've definitely turned a new leaf as a company.

Besides, AFAIK the only things in the TE that are MadCatz-made are the shell, the PCB, and the turbo/lock switches. Everything else is Sanwa.

If you're concerned about the reliability of the PCB, don't be. Modders use Madcatz PCBs for custom sticks all the time. The Arcade-in-a-box custom sticks use Madcatz PCBs.

Man this thread is making me sad now, as I'm in a bit of a fix about my stick plans.

I enjoy DIY woodworking and electronics (I've put together a few electric guitars) so this thread got me totally hooked on the idea of putting together my own stick even though I only play a bit of fighters and shooters. The sad thing is, with SF IV on the horizon and everyone and their brother building custom sticks Lizard Lick is sold out of basically their whole stock of sticks (just JLW and LS-40s available).

So now I'm not sure, do I assemble the box and wait it out until either JLFs or LS-32s are available? In that case I'm not going to have my stick until some time after SF IV launches and I was kinda liking the idea of having a new game to play with my new stick. Or do I just go with the LS-40 or JLW and assume that I can swap in a JLF or 32 later if I want to? After all, I'm a total noob with sticks and from looking at reviews on slagcoin it appears that at least the LS-40 would be a pretty capable stick for some shmups and fighting games. It's just that from this thread it seems like JLF and LS-32s are by far the most popular and I don't want to build a stick that I'm just going to swap the stick out of right away.

LOL, I can only dream of such thing happening. My wife isnt a gamer at all. The look she gave when I broke out my old SF aniversary stick was priceless..... :-|

Plus I might be picking up 2 copies of the game. I've got a decent amount of friends on both platforms. To make things worse, I might also grab the CE version for the PS3.

Most expensive game ever :-/

:D thanks for the infomation dementia I appreciate it. I will give madz stick a try.

Now a budget for my brother: around 50-80?

Got the confirmation from Capcom Shop, and it's already showing up as pending on my card, so hopefully this one will definitely get here.

So I just checked my Amazon order, shipping estimate is Feb 23rd for me! I don't know when you guys (25th?) ordered but I placed mine on Dec 22nd.
