Whooo, confirmation from Capcom.

As for Amazon orders, here's what MadCatz CS had to say-

Amazon should be receiving their shipment around the same time as
every other store we are shipping to. I am not sure why they have
February 25th as the release date. It may be a misprint. I recommend
contacting Amazon and ask why they have February 25th as the release
date. Maybe they have a different release date than other stores? But
hopefully that is not the case.

So I just checked my Amazon order, shipping estimate is Feb 23rd for me! I don't know when you guys (25th?) ordered but I placed mine on Dec 22nd.

Placed my order on 1/16 and the delivery estimate is 2/24. Prime 1-day shipping.

My amazon order was placed Dec 30th, the game delivery estimate is the 19th, the TE stick is the 24th, with one day shipping. With the fastest shipping I wouldnt be surprised to see it delivered before the date updates on the website. Its crazy for a product to have such demand that people arnt trusting amazon. :lol

My Capcom order got cancelled by system last night again. What the fuck is going on.

Edit: ANd now it's sold out. That's fucking bullshit. I even made a new account and tried to order but the same problem came up. =/

i know, i ordered mine from amazon.com [on dec 22nd and my shipping estimate (free shipping) is feb 25th] for the sole reason that they are the most trustworthy online store i can think of

if i get fucked out of a stick, heads will roll

I really wish he opened the stick from the top.

I was facepalm'n at the fact that he said he wishes it was easier to get into/more mod friendly or whatever.

I will stand by this stick and say it is the most mod friendly retail stick to date (with correlation to Japanese parts).

But damn. Seriously.

I think I heard wood in there again too.

Now that's just fucking idiotic. The allen screws make getting into that baby a breeze, just like the SA/SE HRAPs. Not that I need to tell YOU. But that touch wasn't lost on everyone and made my order a much easier choice. ;)

Why did he open the stick from the bottom?

So he gets a stick to destroy since he runs a blog and we have to pay out the ass for it. Awesome.

I wouldn't say much to him though, MarkMan, he might post about how you and Mad Catz have thrown all your credibility away... :P

Don't get me wrong, I think Crecente is a great journalist/blogger.

Arcade stick expert? Not so much.

+ I understand where he's coming from. He used to manage an American arcade. US arcades of yesteryear had NOTHING like what he's messing with now. Sanwa wave of controllers didn't start popping up until a couple of years ago.

But hey, at least he's good at what he does.

Yo Mark, will the TE sticks be up on MadCatz or was that just a Capcom thing? Thanks man.

Okay, just ordered me eight of these:

sanwa_obsf30_b_thumb.jpg

and one of these:

sanwa_lb35_blue_thumb.jpg

for the standard fightstick. It'll be my first time modding any stick of any variety.

Mental Note: Don't open stick from bottom! :lol

Kudos for him doing the video but...he gives that stick NO justice. Yes, he should of open it from the top to look inside.

if you got an extra stick lying around, do a video and post it here. maybe kotaku will learn something :D

Hey Markman, I'm guessing you work for Madcatz by some of the posts. Are there any plans to release either versions of the SFIV sticks without the designs?

No plans as of now.

considering how well they're selling, i can't wait for them to release normal versions.

If only, though it doesn't look like it's going to happen for now.

All in due time, maybe. :lol Thanks Mark

I've never heard anyone complaining about the JLF's pcb. I think Crecente's going to confuse a lot of people.
holy shit

i really don't want to visit the page and augment their traffic and ad impressions but this i have to see

If he spent about 20 more minutes with the stick before filming his bit, the impressions would be completely different.

i always thought good journalists are usually either knowledgeable about what they write about or at least do a bit of research before writing about something.

the sad thing about all this is that the general reading public of kotaku has no clue why the initial review and vid after is bad.

somebody is reading or watching that right now wondering why the te stick's microswitches aren't cherry brand and soldered to a pcb which isn't mod friendly.

You're supposed to open the standard stick from the bottom.

:lol I'm already screwing up. Thanks--I should have guessed this from the pic of the inside MM posted earlier in this very thread. As for changing the ball-top, all I need to do is hold the stick in place from the bottom w/ a flathead and screw it off? See pic for reference:

or does it simply screw off since it lacks a shaft cover? Feel free to giggle at my earnest and heartfelt questioning. :D

definitely go the flathead route

shaft cover or not, the shaft turns with the ball if you don't restrict movement somehow, and the ball will never screw off

A question for MarkMan (or whoever has any insight on this): What exactly is the difference between the PS3 FightSticks and the already-available sticks from Hori and VSHG that prevents the FightSticks from working with PS2 games on PS3? I know it used to be a system-wide issue, but I would've assumed that when Sony updated the firmware to allow it in 1.8 (or whichever FW it was) that it would then work across the board, for all arcade sticks.

Got my order confirmation this morning from Capcom. I ordered last night around 11PM PST.

Just checked the status online and the order hasn't been cancelled.. so everything looks good!

MarkMan, have you had a chance to check out the XMC Cross Battle Adapter?

I'm curious to know if its only compatible with 360 wired controllers or if I could use a 360 stick on the PS3 by picking up this adapter...

Waiting for my review samples from XCM. They're sending me both the cross battle adapter and the dominator arcade stick.

I don't know if I'm allowed to explain the issue here. Let's just say newer arcade sticks can't use what they did before :(

Great! This could help lot's of us who aren't too familiar with modding PCBs into our controllers, hopefully its a quality product that works with 360 Sticks...

Hmm, there are absolutely zero HD pictures of Street Fighter the Movie on the internets. I so wanted to customize my TE with a SFtM theme, but it's not looking like that'll happen.

Is anybody with a BD drive on their PC planning on getting the Blu-ray, and willing to take some shots for me? :D

Okay, I got a response from Amazon. Their ship date for the FightStick, TE FightStick and pads is February 23.

No word on whether it could change or anything like that.

I just want to double check....

I ordered a TE stick from capcom yesterday. When I look into my order history, it has 2 order numbers.

1. 1/27 Order submitted

2. 1/28 Order unsubmitted

Each has its own order number. So am I comprehending correctly from other people when I say....the reason it says unsubmitted is because I had something in my cart previously? Because when I look in my cart, it says "you have nothing in your cart."

Did you get the confirmation email yet?

Man, all this heartache and trouble you guys are going through to get one of those Madcatz sticks - I am so glad I have no interest in them whatsoever. I'm perfectly happy with my litany of HRAP sticks. Also, I don't really like character or game art on my sticks - it's a bit distracting. I think Hori's stick art is stylish and non-descript.

That said, the more people getting any kind of arcade stick, the better - I look forward to kicking your asses in SFIV. >D
