Are Gmestops expected to have standar Mad Catz sticks in stock or have they sold out already too? I've decided I should pick up a 360 stick just to have one.

So Hori ruined the HRAP?

That's just dumb.

Huh? What are you talking about? If you're referring to the IGN review, they have no idea what they're talking about. It's the same stick as the Madcatz TE, fer chrissakes! I bet if you blindfolded that reviewer and gave them each stick to play with, they would not be able to tell the difference. Of course the HRAP buttons suck, but that's a known fact, they're Hori buttons.

I'm also glad I didn't order the Hori SFIV sticks. I'm not a collector like Mark...so somewhere down the line I would've probably used it...

That's terrible. Mark, you guys need to releaes the TE stick in Japan. I want Hori to step their game up.

What he means it that since the buttons are crap AND also soldered into place, therefore being hard to replace, the stick is not a worthwhile purchase if you can get your hands on a TE.

Gamestop will have my regular edition stick late this week. hopefully someone there preordered the TE stick so I can buy it if they don't come and pick it up. :lol

I'd add the Hori SF sticks are POS. There is no way they're even comparable to the standard edition sticks. An overpriced EX2 for 360 and a HRAP without disconnects and soldered buttons are not worth the cost, especially when the buttons are not Sanwa or Seimitsu.

For those looking for backward compatiblity and modifiable buttons, purchase the normal HRAP3 or HRAPEX.

And if you want the Mercedes of joysticks, buy the Madcatz TE. If you want Ferrari/Porsche, buy AIB or a custom.

I ordered a TE stick (360) off buy.com this past weekend. I wonder what the odds are of actually receiving it. They're still taking orders for them as well...

I don't care WHEN I get it (I'm not buying SFIV at launch), but I've wanted a nice high quality USB stick for awhile now. I hope they're not just taking orders only to cancel them in a month.

What IGN review?

I'm talking about the fact the Hori went batshit crazy and opted out of the solder free easy access to the buttons on the new HRAP.

That is dumb.

TE stick arrived today, even though gamestop.com said it was backordered as late as midnight last night. strange! anyways, family portrait;

garou / motw ed. neo geo (ps2) stick
old x-arcade with happ comp stick & comp buttons

overall i'd say the TE is a pretty rad stick. probably not worth the 200ish CDN i paid for it but i wanted to support a decent north american stick. buttons are really sensitive, hopefully they'll calm down as it breaks in; too bad i can't swap in my happ comp buttons because those give a satisfying click with every hit.

how are those x-arcade sticks?

my roommate and I were thinking about picking one up but I wasn't sure how they stack up against the other arcade sticks

ne thots?

Shiny HRAP in the house. Gonna mod mine tonight. I'm going blue Sanwa though and not changing the stick save for the balltop. It could just be the pic--but how the hell did you keep the metal faceplate so scuff-free??

bob; it's just the picture. in person, that thing looks like it's been through the wash and then some.

elohel; i got that x-arcade years and years ago back when the market was basically either them or MAS. people give them a lot of flak but it's not bad to be honest - a friend of mine grabbed some x-arcade parts to put in custom sticks and they've been working fine for about four years now. there are much better options these days though; might as well get an arcade-in-a-box, hori, or one of these sfiv sticks.

Dear god do not, arcade in a box is a much safer bet, that or other artisans on SRK.

I wish my TE stick would arrive at gamestop already.

heh Yeah, mine's pretty bad too. Still love it though. Did you not bother to replace the start/select buttons just cuz who cares really or did you feel it looked fine w/ that color scheme?

Happ buttons won't fit in either of the Matcatz sticks? Shame :(
Can you recommend any buttons (concave pref.) that are similar? I prefer those ones, too...

bob; just didn't care really. i never end up looking at the damn thing while i play anyways; i just modded it to weird people out by asking how they felt about my pink stick.

Here is my family. Relatively new collection, I only bought my first stick about two years ago.

HRAP 2 SA just came in from Japan Video Games. Gonna use it for my Wii and PS2.

Definitely missing the TE sticks...come on Amazon!

yes boss; cool stuff, but why four HRAPs (i think)?

Just for fun. I've got multiple PS3s and 360s so I leave some plugged different consoles. My favorite is probably the HRAP 2 SA...a really pretty stick. I'd sure like one like that but for the Wii.

I am toying with the idea of building my own stick, primarily for the 360. At this stage I'm just kind of curious how much one may generally cost to build using decent to high quality parts. I'd be making the casing out of wood that I would already have, so that wouldn't factor into the price.

Also, how hard would it be to build it so you could hook it up to both a 360 and PS3/PC. Would that add on any additional cost?

Any general numbers and amounts will help tons, thanks!

Okay, I've preordered a Standard Edition FightStick back in January, and the shipping date is supposed to be today (Feb 9). I noticed on the Barnes & Noble website that it hasnt shipped yet, and when I checked GameStop's site (B&N orders are handled through them), I noticed that they dont even have the arcade sticks listed on their website.

Am I fucked?

got my standard fight stick today and yeah it needs good buttons badly!

im not one of those guys who likes to bang on the buttons and with the stock buttons it doesnt register all the time. good thing buttons are cheap.

the joy stick is ok once you get use to the square gate. probably switch that out while i am at becaue joysticks do not cost much either.

i do like the casing though. feels very solid.

Question before I begin soldering the wires on the HRAP.

Does it matter which wire connects of the two? Or can I solder with abandon since with quick connects the two wires are exchangable.

Here is where I'm at. I'm running wires from each tab on the Sanwa to the solder since the Sanwa tabs wont go through the holes on the circuit boardt:

And here is the original:

It would not surprise me if Amazon's 2/20 date holds true. With the Madcatz Rock Band stuff (cymbals, bass) their release date was much later than Bestbuy and Gamestop who got them in much earlier, and their date for those held true, unfortunately.

Quick question for those getting their parts from lizardlick:

How long does it take for lizardlick to email you after a purchase? I ordered and payed (via paypal) buttons and balltops some time ago but but only got a paid email from paypal, no email from lizardlick. Another thing that i found strange was, that lizardlick didn t ask for my adress etc. in the process. I am from germany - no idea if it has something to do with it.

I never received emails...they just showed up via priority a few days later. Your address is connected to your Paypal account and they get it from there.

Umm, i don't remember exactly, but you can make contact with the wires and open the Windows game controllers properties, push the button, if the light turn on, thats the position.

Thanks a lot, thats what I wanted to hear :).

I'm sorry if this has been said / beaten to a pulp

but does the TE stick work with the computer from day 1? or drivers needed

Thanks for the help! I never thought about that.

I realized I wanted a shorter throw on my HRAP 3 but then I found out that most Seimitsus won't fit. Anyone have any recommendations on a new stick to slot in?

Anyone else who ordered from bestbuy.com get charged for it yet? I checked my card today and I saw my charge from BB as pending now (wasn't there from before) and went to check the site and saw the status as "InProcess". Does that mean it is preparing to charge and ship out soon or is that what everyone's status says?
