Anyone else who ordered from bestbuy.com get charged for it yet? I checked my card today and I saw my charge from BB as pending now (wasn't there from before) and went to check the site and saw the status as "InProcess". Does that mean it is preparing to charge and ship out soon or is that what everyone's status says?

It's what it says on mine, always said that so nothing is really new.

Nice, once lizardlick gets them back in stock, I'll pick one up.
Thanks. I also pulled an actuator mod on it similar to the Ultimate mod for a Sanwa JLF stick for faster response. I'll put pics up when I get back to my comp at home.

Ok never mind then. I never checked the status on the site, only did so because I saw I got charged the $165 on my card now and thought it might be getting ready to ship out this week. And I should have said b4 I'm talking about my order for the TE.

Are you ever going to post some pictures of your collection in here or on SDtekken?

I have really old pics on SDTEKKEN.

One time I was going to do a new set of collection pics.

But after I moved 20 boxes I said screw it and gave up.

lol.

Before I put these up on ebay, anybody interested in:

1) Complete Hori Real Arcade Pro (version 1, mirror top), $99 OBO
2) Complete Sega Virtua Stick (JP version), $40 OBO

I have pics for serious buyers.

Pics.

I'm not sure how serious you take me, but please PM me or email me at MarkMan@sdtekken.com ... whatever is easier for you.

Thanks!

i would take a picture of my stick collection if most of it weren't stored at my parents' place. i think it stands at:

snes ascii stick (which sucked so much that i swore off console joysticks for a couple generations)
green dreamcast stick x2
ascii fighter stick ps2
x-arcade
hori doa4 stick
hrap ex
hori fighting stick 3
hrap 3 w/sanwa buttons

Pain in the ass to change the buttons on the HRAP SFIV but I did it.

I did not use quick-disconnects since I didn't have any and just used some heat-shrink tubing to keep the connection safe on the buttons. Fail all around on Hori's part.

Gotta say it looks and feels much better and has a meaner look :lol ! I used MarkMan's TE button color layout for inspiration. I like how the two end buttons disappear into the artwork:

HRAP 3 SFIV Edition Sanwa:

PCB wired (used servo wire):

drohne, what colors are you putting in your HRAP EX?

Pretty crazy how badly Hori dropped the ball with the SF4 RAP. I mean, folks were pretty down on it for being a simple sticker swap, but a simple sticker swap and regressing features is *wow*.

Is $90 shipped for a HRAP3 a killer deal? It was $75 a few weeks ago but I didn't jump at it when I had the chance so I've been putting it off since then. Should I just bite the bullet and grab it?

same white sanwas you went with, though i'm not doing start and select. i was considering green translucent seimitsu snap-ins -- they're still available at aki shop -- but i really like the feel of sanwas

No shit. Can't believe they did that. I wound up spending just under $200 to get it delivered and modded just to equal the out-of-the-box TE.

I've got the Death Smiles stick on order but if it too uses soldered buttons it will likely be my final HRAP...or I'll just stick to the SE and SAs.

Never used Seimitsus...pretty curious how they are.

Good job.

Hey, so everyone seems to love the SF4 TE stick, but what about the cheaper SF4 stick that they made? Any word on that?

I hear its supposed to be decent. I was gonna buy it myself and then I decided to front the extra $40 and get a Hori Real Arcade Pro EX instead.

it's been mentioned in here before, but what the FUCK were hori thinking with that protective film on the hrap ex? i can get it out from under the buttons when i replace them, but i don't know how i'm going to get the last little shreds under the corner bolts

When you take it apart, just take bolts out entirely and there should be a nice little ring of plastic that slides off.

oh, nice -- i didn't remember if those bolts came out completely. guess i had no reason to try with my hrap 3

Also, don't crank down those bolts too tightly...if you do they will warp the softish cover on the Sony HRAP 3. The lock washer is there so you can just barely tighten it. The other sticks, like the EX, have a harder lid and won't warp as easily.

Good Job, Yes Boss. It looks a lot better.

And I agree...I was down on the joystick originally because of the same stale design. But who knew they'd try to shortchange the user by not offering the same level of quality and options that were offered before.

Just so I dont $h*t bricks....the amazon hrap3 version is not soldered correct? They just snap in and out easily?

That is correct.

You'll be fine.

You'd think those people paying a higher price for the SF4 stick would get the same treatment from Hori :(

MarkMan said:
I have nothing to do with shipping/receiving.

Sorry. Don't know.
Like I said, I'll swing by tomorrow and see if they have it.

I still don't have any $$ for the actual game, though, so I'll just pop in Soulcalibur IV and fool around with it. Maybe I'll also get a 1600 MS Point card and get HD Remix, too.

Even worse, clearly they designed this PCB with future use in mind, unless they are recycling something from a few years back. Who knows, maybe they are attempting to segregate between the regular editions and the SE, SAs. Margin has to be larger on the latter.

Exactly. I just ordered that a few days ago, thinking my pre-order for the TE stick with capcom might take awhile. I figured the worse thing that will happen is that I end up with 2 sticks! :D But glad to hear the hrap3 should be an easy mod

Damn, the Agetec DC stick up on ebay is still going up, outbid at $55.00 with 13 shipping. Doubt I'll go any higher.

At least I'll make that jerk pay a bit more :P

MarkMan,

Are you keeping yours stock since you are a collector or are you gonna attempt to mod it?

My SF4 Hori? Keeping it stock. No need to mod one, I have at least 20 of the HRAP series of sticks. :(

The Tekken 5 JPN stick had similar insides...

THE PAIN!!

Feels just like yesterday....

Ouch!

Well, I hope Madcatz gets the Tekken 6 license, and, if not, will then at least release a nice generic edition of the TE for the occasion.

Another unrelated question about Tekken 6. I know the arcade runs the game at 720p but would you know if the PS3 version is scheduled to run at 1080p like Dark Resurrection PSN?

Makes you wonder why they choose to be so backwards with those sticks when their other ones got the formula down well enough.

Which do you guys think I should roll with for my TE:

  1. 141apy.jpg

  2. 1zpjnk9.jpg

  3. 2vjxxcz.jpg

I'm leaning w/ #2. I'll likely add a red bat top to finish it off.

For anyone that wants to see buttons in their template to get an idea what they might look like color-wise:

http://yourupload.com/files/get/Bgmw2A7FFT/button-layout.psd (if anyone knows of a better place to host it, let me know)

I have each button set up on its own layer w/ an hue/saturation adjustment layer... so you can just double-click and tweak the colors for each button as you wish. Just drag-n-drop for the TE template, and since the Standard Fightstick uses the same layout you should be able to drop it in there too. The file doesn't include the original template layers, so you'll have to download those first.

This "direct feed" screen of the 360 version is at 720p, so that's probably a good indication:
