MarkMan, when are we going to see photos of your ENTIRE collection. Further, how do you store them all...displayed, or boxed up?

Chorazin said:It works just fine in MAMEui, I let Windows XP find the drivers and when I loaded up MAMEui, hit P and then Tab to set up the joystick to work with the game.
Fantastic gamex3n05 said:That one did the trick, thanks again. It's weird that all the other versions of MAME (all 64bit) didn't work, but the one titled MAMEui64 did, oh well back to Dungeons and Dragons![]()

Name: Street Fighter IV FightStick
Price: $80 ($70 for PS3)
Impression: Serviceable
Having just come from testing the Tournament Edition, the regular-ol white FightStick was a downgrade. By comparison, the stick is clicky, loose and inaccurate, the buttons imprecise. But it was usable. With mod-friendly bells and whistles carried over from its big brother, this could become the modders stick of choice.
No cord caddy though, sadly.
?!
Are they just saying this because they can really tell the difference between the tourny stick and the normal one...because loose/inaccurate and imprecise sound bad ; ;
I mean how can the normal stick be called better than the Fighting Stick 3 or EX2, yet still decribed as having a loose inaccurate stick and imprecise buttons? I know the lower end Hori sticks arent the best of the best or even close, but they werent imprecise in the least bit...at least not for me anyway.
Was the fighting stick 3 or EX2 known to be inaccurate and imprecise?

Teknoman said:I just wish there were more articles on the regular fightstick or at least the ones that talk about the TE would go into decent detail/hands on with the regular as well.
GalacticAE said:Hey Markman, do you happen to know the reason behind the PS3 TE stick delay? It doesn't seem like it'll be that much of delay, but I'm just curious.
Or is this delay only for Lizardlick allotments?

Havn't really paid much attention to the TE, but looking at the photos I'm just going to assume at least the buttons are different (Sanwa's as opposed to standard Hori's?)Teknoman said:I just wish there were more articles on the regular fightstick or at least the ones that talk about the TE would go into decent detail/hands on with the regular as well.

Sanwa pushbuttons are featherlight with a really short travel distance. The buttons are so light you barely need to make an effort to press them. So much so, you avoid resting your hand against them ingame in fear that they'll register a press. As said, the button's travel is really short, with 3mm~ of movement to push the button to it's 'end' and less than 1mm for it to detect a press. Compared to my stock Hori buttons from my HRAP2, the Hori buttons are higher, longer travel, and arn't anywhere as light to press. They feel squishy in comparasion, but are still good.
I've never used a standard Hori stick so I have no idea how it compares to Sanwa's JLF. :lol

The stock stick has smaller buttons?Teknoman said:Well i've reassured myself with this:
As far as playability is concerned, both sticks are incredibly fun to virtually pummel each other with. Both seemed very responsive and the buttons were sturdy and loosely padded. The Tournament Edition did, however, have a notable competitive edge granted by its 30mm Action Buttons. Determining just how much of a competitive edge the Tournament Edition Arcade FightStick gives users will have to wait until we can perform a full review.
From IGN.
Plus there was that write up at SRK about how the regular stock stick was still pretty good quality. Maybe im just worrying over nothing.

zewone said:Man, I was hoping for better reviews of the $80 Fight Stick. While cheap in comparison to the TE stick, it's still not chump change.
I'm hoping that the "ho-hum" review is just because of his immediate switch from the TE.
This is going to be my first stick, so I hope I made the right choice.
I wouldn't worry. Worst case scenario, it's easily modded.zewone said:Man, I was hoping for better reviews of the $80 Fight Stick. While cheap in comparison to the TE stick, it's still not chump change.

Stock Hori is kind of a low bar.MarkMan said:BTW,
the regular fight stick buttons are good, better than stock Hori IMO.

Syril said:I wish there was something that looked at the standard FightStick by itself. It really makes me uneasy about buying one when all of the impressions of it that seem to be out there only seem to say that it's not as good as the TE version.
How simple? Does the regular stick have the same labeled disconnects as the TE? I would think they'd use the same internals across both sticks to reduce cost. And can the artwork be swapped?McBradders said:Well the price disparity alone should be a fairly meaty warning.
As MarkMan has said, the stick is excellent, not TE quality, but with a few simple mods it can be as good.
