Right above...is the fruits of my labors...Dementia.

When I get my HRAP EX, I'll swap out the junk too. The 24mm Hori buttons are terrible. It was hard to get them out.

I'm probably not going to ever take my SFIV TE out of the box. HRAPs are a dime a dozen...so they're easy to replace.

I might buy a normal Fightstick for both consoles and replace the buttons (plus gate and bat top).

I might put a bat top and octo gate on my EX2.

Also...that bad-ass designer for the Mad Catz joystick did a real bang up job. The design is awesome. The little compartment for the cable, the neat look of the inside. The modability. The quality of the parts. The start and select buttons on the front instead of the face. I could go on. Markman isn't only the president but also a playa...

my 7mm nutdriver should show up tomorrow, and then it'll be time to put some sanwa buttons in my hrap3. the stock hori buttons really do kind of suck -- i notice that i've trained myself to start my button inputs a bit early to compensate for their mushiness :/

i'm more excited about this than i logically should be

You just made a good case why you should use the stick rather than leaving it in the box. I think this is one of those limited edition things that is definitely worth using on a daily basis. Initially I was going to keep it as a collectible but they made these sticks to be used. I will use this bad boy.

So MarkMan, which Monday did you have in mind for your 'making of' article?
For some strange reason i expected it on the Monday just gone :lol And the weekend before that! Not that i'm impatient or anything

I'm lazy + work owns me. I finished working at 11:30 PM tonight!

NUTS!

It's definitely going to be soon though lol.

Where did you buy one from? I got a surprise when I opened up my HRAP and saw those nuts. Cheapest I could find was a set at Home Depot for $15 and decided to wait and find a less expensive option. Did you get one cheaper?

I loled. Seth said meltyblood will not print out.

Mark... he did say that you could put an american style stick in though(or was he just talking about a different spring). Better do some damage control.

You can put a bat style stick (LB39) or a Seimitsu stick. Or a Seimitsu with a bat adapter (which is probably as close to American as you'll get)....

But yea, no need for damage control. It's not like he said you can put HAPP in. (which you can't). Well... You could. But it would be tedious.

Maybe I should try that this weekend.

OK....Does anybody know what type of screw driver, allen wrench, or star wrench is needed to open the top of the TE stick panel?

Nobody seems to know or even answer.....a little help here PLEASE!

Despite the fact that it's completely illegible, you might still get in trouble for posting a pic from a magazine, I'd edit that out.

People post EDGE covers, back pages no trouble, and i made it blurry as hell so no one can claim that you can read it , i just wanted to give props to Markman, and show him the layout of his article. Dont want to get in trouble though.

Damn it Markman...you posted that link...and I preordered a 360 and PS3 TEs from videogamecentral.

Gah...how did I get to eight sticks?? It's all for the love of Street Fighter... I might swap out the sanwa stick for the Seimitsu LS32 and buttons...plus move the L and R buttons around so it corresponds to the default button configurations...

Are videogamecentral reliable? Gamestop cancelled my order for the TE Stick without giving me any reason. :(

Anyone know of any UK retail stores other than play or shopto getting the sticks?

I half-considered keeping my LE in the box... but then scoffed at the idea. This thing is going to be my weapon of choice, getting up to speed and subsequently beating the crap out of my friends.

I even have a half-dozen mod scenarios I could go depending on how I feel about the gate/stick...

Not sure if this has been asked...

But do the TE sticks work on the PC...

;)

No...I mean, yes. :)

I too would like to ask about the SF4 sticks. 8 way or 4 way?! Tell me!

I assume you're referring to the gate. If so, it's a square gate, but can easily be modded to an octagonal one.

To answer the above posts...

It has a hexagonal gate like the Korean setups. But if you'd like...you can swap it out easy for a equaliteral triangle gate.

YES...you can use the joysticks on the PC, MAC and ZUNE... Why don't you use the search function next time fucktard?

And MTHanded, I got another pair of TEs, so I can preserve Markman's sexy for a rainy day. Does the Sanwa bat top plus adaptor fit on the Seimitsu LS-32? I'd like to know how those feel... Goes to read up in the SRK HRAP Mod thread...

I wish I knew how to do simple electrical work, solder and wood craft, as I'd like to create my own stick...using Heaven's goodness...a Happ 360 plus Seimitsu buttons and copyrighted custom art.

edit: I prefer pentagonal gates btw, stops you from jumping forwards.

yeah it fits. Personally not a fan of them, but some might like it.

I'm a little confused about something regarding this. The Sanwa joystick is only on the TE version, right? So if I wanted to use an octagonal gate with the standard version, would I be not able to use the Sanwa GT-Y Octagonal Restrictor Plate that Lizardlick sells? It says it only works with the JLF series joysticks.

That depends. For some sticks like Hori's FS EX2, the Sanwa gate is compatible with Hori's lever.

It had been confirmed you can put a JLF in the standard FightStick though. Problem solved.

So I somewhat modded my ex2 stick that I got on the cheap. Just replaced the green ball on top with a seimitsu ball top with the bubbles inside (just an aesthetic choice) and put a 8-way GT-Y restrictor plate on. It was incredibly easy and works great. I might post pictures if I get the time. Seeing how well that went, I'm tempted to order some sanwa buttons and attempt to solder those in along with putting in new artwork, but I've heard the buttons are a nightmare.

Have you had any soldering experience? It isn't too bad, especially if you have the right tools.
The only problem I had was the shitty Hori PCB dying eventually. Buttons just stopped working in pairs after a while.

So would I need to replace the joystick before I can change the gate?

It's not too bad. Just be patient and make sure it's not your first solder job. I also found it helpful to use wire instead of soldering the buttons directly to the PCB. Desoldering the OG buttons was probably the most difficult part. You heat up the PCB/trace too much and you can really fuck things up.

I got to fool around with MadCatz's upcoming SFIV sticks. I was surprised by how well the standard edition held up to the TE version (which, according to MadCatz, is limited to 3000 units in the US... I told them that wasn't gonna be nearly enough.) In fact, while playing, I was so focused on SFIV that I didn't really notice a difference (my brother did though, but he doesn't play games.) I think SFIV is gonna blow fighter fans away...

3000? Are you shitting me? That's fucking ridiculous, I am pissed as fuck that I can't even pre-order one of these things less than two weeks after they were officially priced. Come on, why even bother making them if they are going to make so few and hype the hell out of them? God, I am pissed.

I guess my question is whether or not it is worht it to get the 360 regular stick. I have a Hori EX2, and it kinda blows for SFIITHDR, is this one better? I might have to pre-order the lesser stick instead.

Also, I heard that there was finally a way to use 360 sticks on PS3, any word on that?
