For those who pre-ordered the TE stick from Amazon, what is your estimated delivery date?

I ordered on January 5, my estimated delivery date (2-day) is February 25. I really hope I don't have to wait a week :(

Ordered December 6th, and I'm also Feb 25. I don't think Amazon's estimates are particularly accurate, however.

I'm starting to think that myself. Amazon says they're shipping a week after the game comes out, while GameStop is a week prior. It seems to me that we're going to find out later than sooner ;o

I bet most people see a shipping notice, before that delivery date even gets updated to something reasonable.

Finally got another camera to replace my broken Fuji. Here is a better photo of my upgraded HRAP 3 "High Grade." Love the black ring accents on the grey buttons. Next month my collection doubles in size with the arrival of two Tournament Edition sticks, an HRAP EX and an HRAP SF IV stick.

You have a pretty good collection right now. ...too bad Markman infected you with his joystick virus...

I'm in the same boat. I have three sticks right now. My collection is going to jump up to eight.

And you're getting the HRAP SF IV. I was thinking about it...but...it's not bringing anything new to the table. I hope Markman designs a Tekken 6 stick. Hopefully, one with new features or a layout, so it'll force Hori to step up their stick game.

Anyone get an e-mail shipping notice from Arcade Shock. They're proudly touting they have their HRAP EXs in...but haven't talked about sending it. I preorderd it via paypal, so they've already gotten their money.

I credit this thread entirely! MarkMan's sticks look like they will outdo all the Hori sticks. I've had my HRAP3 since VF5 but it is nice to refresh it.

I just want the HRAP SF IV for fun. I'm gonna rip out all the buttons and mimic the TE.

I was thinking Madcatz was just gonna rebrand the TE for Tekken...unless the design is linked to Capcom. Who knows?

Finally cancelled my Arcade Shock and am just sticking to my Amazon order. I did not want to but they dragged it along too long and I wind up saving $35 on shipping and CA tax. Got a bit tired of Arcade Shock's delays.

what if they just make new sticks and model it after the t6br cabinet control panel?

cha-ching!

The Vewlix inspired design is not a Capcom design. It is based off an existing universal arcade machine.

There are lots of games that use the Vewlix cabinet.

:D :D :D

Not saying we will reuse the design.

That's one thing I'm dissapointed in about Hori. They haven't refreshed their line in a LONG time....

I'm a big fan too but I keep buying the reskins of their sticks!

Hopefully you guys have forced their hand! Even with little things like cord storage, removable rubber feet, and easy access.

Also MarkMan,

I know there is really no occasion for it but a high-quality Wii arcade stick is desperately needed. I'd love to see Madcatz fulfill that role in some form down the line.

I wouldn't be mad if you reused the same design for Tekken 6. My only desire is competition. And I hope with the resurgence of Madcatz (spurred by your incredible creation) and the success of the SFIV line of products, it forces Hori or other peripheral designers to step their game up. Obviously, you've created several products to tie into the release of Street Fighter...and each is catered to a specific market. And each one has raised the bar. So hopefully...we don't get turds like the EX2 or stick anymore, the substandard buttons in their "Real" line or the stale designs.

What is the game featured on the stick on the left and what is that square on the right for? It looks like a screen or a touch pad?

CcrooK said:
I somehow doubt that. If the demand is high, why lower the price?
I mean if competition between Mad Catz and Hori really heats up I think prices would lower, but I really doubt competition will heat up :(

they're scarce nowadays

i have heard success stories of people finding the Pelican ones inside brick and mortar Gamestops, but it's a longshot

ok I don't have time for search I'm going to buy the hrap3

Personally... I wouldn't use the same design. Street Fighter IV is on a Vewlix cabinet, so it is only proper.

Tekken 6 has it's own cabinet which is sexy in itself.

How?

It's a special-designed joystick with sanwa parts for the 360 arcade shooter, Otomedius G. The square is a touchpad that takes the place of the cursor/touch screen targeting that the game uses in arcades.

I am planning on doing a write up for my build of a 360 stick using the live retro PCB and sanwa parts. Is there a preferable place to have this so people can use it? A thread around here, SRK, 1up, cheapassgamer, all of them?

Also has anyone seen a write up on this kind of setup? I don't want to take the time and effort to just copy what has already been done.

There are writeups all over... there are a few good sites too...

www.slagcoin.com is one... and there are many threads on SRK... some CAG blogs too.

Just post it up! ;D

Small rant:

you know what's dumb? Last year in December, I went to Gameflop to preorder (and pay in full for) one of the MadCatz TE sticks, and I was told that the SKU wasn't in the system yet.

I went back there last week, and the woman working there told me that the stick "got a price drop" from $150 to $80 (-_-).

What also sucks is that the cash I would've used for the stick is gone now (because of some stupid crap that happened on New Years Day), so I'm stuck using my DOA Hori and it's failing jab button.

Is it true that Amazon doesn't charge your card until the item ships (for pre orders)? Because I pre ordered the Persona 4 social link package last year and it charged my card when I placed the order. Otherwise I would have ordered it thru amazon from the first day they had it available.

So a question for the arcade stick pro's in this thread. I wanted to order the TE street fighter stick but can't seem to find it for sale anymore. I did find the Hori SF stick, is this a good alternative?

The Hori SF4 stick isn't out yet.

It is the same as an HRAP3.

I'll post pics of mine when I get it.

^Which Hori SF4 stick? The PS3 one is great, 360 one, not so much.

I was looking to buy the ps3 version. What's wrong with the 360 one?

Yeah, it says the release date is feb12, but shouldn't there already be impressions of it? Like we've been getting of the pads and sticks in the west.
So i'm guessing the HRAP3 is really good?

No need for impressions of the Hori SF4 stick it is an EXISTING product... just look up reviews for the HRAP3.

I have a review of it here on my site (very old review from when HRAP3 first came out):

Sorry to ask, but is the Standard Edition SFIV Fight Stick using SANWA buttons or no?
No they are madcatz knockoffs of the sanwa buttons. From what it seems though, they are pretty damned good quality for being generic.

Has probably been answered already, but is there a good site to get Arcade Stick templates? Right now Im looking to see if anybody has a TE template, for instance

If I'm not mistaken Madcatz will have some templates for sale.

By template I mean a layout of where the buttons and sticks are located so that I can make some custom art for the stick, is that something you buy? Doesnt sound right, Im probably using the wrong word (English being my 3rd language and all..)

Template is the right word, and I thought I read that Mad Catz would provide a template or something on their website for free so you could make your own designs. I could be wrong though.
