NeoGAF Arcade Stick Thread

I wish I could just talk and talk about what I'm working on, but I can't.

Just know we're in the arcade stick business.

I love arcade sticks.

And I don't limit myself to just one thing.

^_^

Markman is obviously working on an arcade stick that doubles as a console. It'll come pre-loaded with VF5, SC4, and GGAC+, and will have a download store with SF4, BB, T6, and who knows what else.

It'll come with 6 different face plates, full Sanwa, and will use a single HDMI cable to connect to your TV.

It will cost 199 USD
and will be ferried by ponies and unicorns

Oh man. I may be reading into things but you might just be hinting at a new HAPP stick with that last sentence...please, oh please God.

Make the announcement already, LOL.

Finished my TE art mod! I initially was uncertain about all the white space and overall design, but I'm happy with how it turned out and how it matches the album style. (design was based on the photography booklet in the latest SNSD album)

stick I did for a friend, not the best pic (didn't have time to take a better pic before he took it)

it's an Xbox360 stick, start/back/xbox buttons are on the right side of the case

sanwa/sanwa, JLF has an LS 32 spring in it.

Finally found some artwork that fits nicely into the TE stick template (I have zero photo editing skills)

A little uncertain of the best way to go about applying it, though.

can I just go to kinko's, print out a label in the right dimensions, pop out the buttons and apply it? Is there a better method? I was looking at plexi replacement covers, but I'm hoping to do this cheaply.

Hi guys, this is my first post in this forum and this is my arcade stick:

The stick is a hrap 2 sa, no modded, the buttons and the stick are the originals, and at the moment works perfectly, the artwork is from deviantart but i don´t have experiencie changing the artwork and the result is poor versus the sticks i can see in this thread.

PD: Sorry for my bad english.

This is also my first post in here. I'm no fancy pants stick expert or anything, but I put some Sanwa reed switches into a HRAP3 last year and I love it. I probably play arcade games on mame the most with it but I like to get in a round or two of SF4 or VF5.

Really need some blanking plates for the last two holes actually, anyone recommend a good stockist?

Where can one buy the TE stick for PS3 that ships to Sweden? That is without getting raped on the price, budget a little low due to being a student.

On the stick?

Yeah, it's "Special Edition" not "Special Addition". ;)

Hey guys.

Just an update concerning my friends TE stick, he decided to crack it open and poked around a bit and managed to move whatever wire it was that was in the way of the button.

So now it works fine. So thanks for the suggestion, I had told him that and would have felt even worse if that wasnt' the issue had he opened it and failed to fix anything.

He also has an SE stick that he doesn't much care for, we opened it up today and it looks like the washer isn't held in place in the stick itself , sliding around a bit so he might mod that one up with better parts. Kind of interesting that the SE is way easier to take apart then the TE.

I did some reading, apparently the Cthulhu board doesn't play nice with Win7. Guess I'm gonna have to use XP for the GGPO machine. :([/QUOTE]

It's clearly intentional.
SA = SAnwa = Special Addition
SE = SEimitsu = Special Edition

Don't the HRAP3 and TE both use a Sanwa JLF stick?
My bad, I should of been more specific. I was refereeing to the HRAPEX-SE Not the SA one. I thought it was label "HRAP3 EX-SE" I disregarded the "SA" in the previous post. My mistake.

So, after months of looking for one, I finally found the 360 FSTE for sale in a Swedish store. Naturally I ordered it immediately so I should be getting it sometime next week.

Better late than never, eh?

Get hype.

So who preordered some of the Nov. Hori offerings ?

Looking forward to adding more EX-SE and HRAP3SA to the pile o sticks.

Preordered one of both, but am unsure about following through. I'm really not a huge fan of the HRAP box. Of course, no offense, but I'm not too wild about the TE box either. ;)

To each their own!

It's good to know what you want. Not everyone needs multiple sticks, if you're perfectly happy with a certain type/size/style, go with it.

I can use pretty much anything... But I like smaller sticks.

Thats what she said.

Heh, you and me both. I have a huge stack already, the only HRAPs I still have in my collection are the HRAP2SA, a HRAP2 Amazon Orange, and a HRAP3, and I'll probably sell the latter two at some point. When it comes down to it, I think my two favorite form factors in my collection are the VSHG (duh, I pimp it incessantly) and the Namco PS1. Definitely prefer a lower profile with weight.

I had an Astro City dual (Virtua Stick Pro) at some point that I really, really dug, but I sold that off (still have one Astro City-inspired solo VS). I'm getting a whole New Astro cab to compensate. :D

I've had a pre-order in for both the HRAP3-SA and HRAPEX-SE since they went up on Amazon, but I'm not sure if I'm going to follow through with both. I really love the aesthetics of the HRAP3-SA, but I truly don't need another PS3-only stick. I really dislike the different colored buttons on the HRAPEX-SE, but I want the Seimitsu stick, and it, being X360, is a better choice for making into a multi-console stick.

Oh, who am I kidding... I'll probably end up getting both. ><

actually the HRAP EX-SE is non-common ground; so a dual mod wouldn't be as simple as say a 360 SE/TE.

Need your help guys... need to get started on my podcast/arcade stick podcast stuff... soooooo....

Need some help! (off topic but yea, not really)

So, I'm going to start a video podcast/podcast and live interviews/streams on SDTEKKEN site.

It's going to cover new arcade sticks/sneak peaks, TEKKEN stuff (obviously) and other fighting game community news/interviews.

I wanna make it nice. What would people recommend for the actual podcast mics?

Also what would you recommend for mics when at events (prefer wireless) and plugs into cameras/HD cams.

I'll be using this stuff soon, for PAX and other special events (TEKKEN launch) soon after.

HOLLA.

Oh. Well boo them then. But still, X360 PCB + MC Cthulthu gives better compatibility than PS3 PCB + X360 PCB, so that's probably still the way to go.

I ordered and EX-SE and HRAP SA to get a second of each and one from the americas. Also, got the two Tekken sticks coming that month and the Hori Twin Stick. The PSP Go adds into the mix to make it deadly month.

Yeah, I wanna see some Mad Catz product mixed into Big October. I set aside $340 for any Mad Catz stuff that might appear in October (thinking two sticks, one for each system).

Amazon dates TvsC for January 26th so those probably will appear to be next year.

Also, if anybody is still looking for a HRAP3 SE stateside Japan Video Games has it for $200.

(Ugh, those Tekken sticks are nasty...hopefully better in person)

Nice. I definitely appreciate your passion for fighting games and arcade sticks. Make a thread here when you launch your first episode. I'll definitely look to add it to my rotation.

Man, I REALLY want to put a custom graphic on my TE stick now. I hate all of you. I was thinking about doing a JSRF theme.
Hey, that trippy Gum wallpaper would make for excellent stick art.

I was considering a JSR theme too but I have come to prefer simple designs without character art on my sticks. My dualmodded PS360 TE rocks simple Vewlix clone art and insignia.

I'm like that as well. But I have to mod the the TE stick completely. Is begging for it. I'm going with all HAPP parts, going to try to re-arrange the button layout into that "SEGA Arch" And than, put a awesome picture of John Wayne, with the American flag in the background. Is going to be awesome.

i sold my old TE stick...now considering an HRAP EX or getting another one. I have an SE. Can owners of the TE and HRAP give me their opinions? I know its just a preference thing but still :p
