Yeah neither did I. But I got plenty of sticks to keep me happy, better to give someone else the chance to win one, no? Hopefully we´ll see some nice competition among contestants.

Got mine in as well just before the deadline. Regardless of if I win or not I had some fun doing the photos. Might share a few outtakes with GAF after the contest.

Was looking at those new SFxT VS sticks and I noticed that the layout was actually a little different then I remembered from before for the 360.
I had thought that the old MadCatz were always like this:

And I see the new ones are like this:

Am I just making this up or did the layout change? In any case if it was a change I like the new layout better, I set my custom stick up that way and it made more sense to match the basic shape of the 360 controller buttons.

Licensed? Do you mean licensed for a specific game? I just took a peek online and things still seem pretty scattered. And all of the below sticks I would call licensed (not generic to MadCatz).
Two of them use the first layout and two of them use the second.

Yeah, they're game specific. Soul Calibur's, Blazblue's and I think Marvel 3's are like that because the default arcade setup is

So instead of modding the SNES QJ Topfighter for my needs, it was suggested on another forum (shmups) that I should buy a Wii Tatsunoko vs. Capcom stick so I can put in Sanwa/Seimitsu parts (snap-in/screwdriver, no soldering) and then buy a MC Cthulu so I can use it on Saturn, Dreamcast, and OG Xbox. What do you guys think about this idea?

Ahh, that makes more sense. Seems obvious now that I think about it. I just couldn't figure out why they were going back and forth between two layouts.

So I decided to heed some of the warnings about the HRAP V3 label fading or peeling and I ordered a custom plexi and art (actually I think it's Lexan, and there isn't really any art on my print either). Since I liked the black and white look of the V3, I decided to keep it minimal and simply changed the location of the logo, while keeping everything else black. I think the results are pretty nice!

I've always been a pad player, very few (and terribly outdated in terms of games) arcades where I come from, so I actually have no nostalgic feelings for sticks whatsoever. Picked one of these up a while ago just to give it a shot without spending tons of money and initially it felt awkward, but after giving it some time, then taking a break form using it and eventually pulling it out of the closet just to give it another chance I must admit I'm really surprised how comfortable and natural it feels now. Definitely sticking with a stick (no pun intended...) for fighting games.
And now I'm drooling over those SFxT Madcatz sticks... I wonder just how much of a difference there is between the one I'm using and those...
A BIG difference. If/when you have the money, get one.

EB Games in Canada still has a bunch of MK Klassic fight sticks going for $80 which is an insanely cheap price for what you're getting. I now have two in my possession. You should be able to track one down by checking the store availability near your house. Note that the store stock isn't always accurate so its best to call in advance.
Only negative about the Klassic Fight sticks is that you can't open them up and store the USB cable inside. I actually almost broke one of the USB cables because I shoved it back in the box without disconnecting it and the port on the cable got bent pretty badly because the box doesn't have too much room in it. Thankfully I was able to bend it back into place and the cable still works.

Okay! Finally got a refund on my Lizard Lick order.
Now, here's a questionSeimitsu LS-58-01 vs. Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT-SK for putting into a Mad Catz SE stick. I (a) know little about all of this stick stuff, and (b) only know that the one stick I can say I've used by name is that Sanwa.
What is the basic difference between the two sticks? This would mostly be for fighting games, possibly the occasional shooter. Mostly fighting games though.

How much does plexi for the RAPs cost? I've been thinking about putting some custom art on my stick as well.
You too huh? Took me about two months to get my refund from Lizard Lick. They really ought to get their act together. I'd recommend ordering a JLF from Focus Attack http://focusattack.com/ Order came in 3 days and had much better customer support. I'd also highly recommend getting the Sanwa OBSF 30mm buttons to replace the stock ones on the SE. I put a JLF and OBSF buttons into my SE and couldn't be happier with it. I don't know a great deal about the differences between the Sanwa and Seimitsu sticks other than most fighting game fans seem to prefer Sanwa sticks (I know they are used in the SFIV cabinet and other Japanese fighting game cabinets), and that the Sanwa is looser. I think the Seimitsu will have a slightly shorter, stiffer throw. This might make it more useful for shmups and such, but I think it's more of a personal preference which stick you use for which types of games.
It was 20 bucks. Just google Game Surgeons and go to the Lightning Label site.
I ended up filing a ticket through PayPal, and seemed to finally get my order cancelled (after my email went unanswered).
I'll of course be replacing the buttons, I just wasn't sure what to do about the stick. Nick Rox is saying he loves the Seimitsu, and really, if I go that route then I'll have one Sanwa and one SeimitsuI figure, that'd be nice for reference sake.
I asked for my order to be cancelled once, and didn't hear back for a few weeks, then my wife (behind my back no less) emailed them a rather disgruntled and irate email demanding my money back, to which I was promptly refunded and apologized to. LOL, sometimes it pays to be a little aggressive. Well, one shouldn't have to be in the first place, but I've neither the temperament nor the attitude to be so - not even in writing.

I'd probably still use them again, since the owner (Jaleel Beck) actually responded to my support emails quickly and was really nice about it. What's the cheapest ps3 stick?
Not worried about art. Just want something ultra cheap that gives me skills to transfer to a competitive level stick in the future.
Edit: Gonna try and find a MadCatz WWE All Stars Brawl Stick at a local Gamestop since they are on sale for 30$.

Got a chance to get a Mad Catz Street Fighter IV FightStick - Sanwa JLF 8-way stick (but a square gate), stock buttons. $89 shipped, pretty much brand new.
Paired with a mod board (MC Cthulu or TE Kitty or something) is this a good option towards 360/oXbox/Saturn/Dreamcast stick-dom?

All of the MadCatz Tournament Edition sticks are great but they aren't cheap. The SCV one in particular is $160 retail.
The cheapest stick you can get with high quality parts these days is probably the Hori Real Arcade Pros. Amazon has them on sale for $120 every few weeks so I'd keep an eye out for that.
An alternative would be the WWE Brawlstick, which has a mediocre stick and buttons but can be easily be replaced with higher-end parts and is much cheaper than the TEs or the HRAPs. Gamestops currently have the Brawlsticks on clearance for $30, so if you want the cheapest option I would check if any Gamestops near you have the BrawlStick for your system of choice (you can check online) and then replace the stick and buttons with parts from a site like like FocusAttack.com.
Is there an issue with sticking with the default BrawlStick stick and buttons for a while?

I'm pretty sure the WWE stick and the SFIV SE are basically the same stick. If it's a TE it's a good deal, but I'm almost certain it's not. Might as well get a WWE stick and mod it. Do you have a pic?

SEs and Brawlsticks are nearly identical, I think the Brawlstick has slightly better stock parts. I was just suggesting the Brawlstick to lsslave because the SF4 SEs are out of print and thus very hard to find these days for a decent price.
$90 isn't a awful price for an SE with a modded stick but keep in mind you'd probably be replacing the buttons too. There are! They are underneath the stock art panel... which is some kind of thick foam thing. You peel it off, revealing the metal plate inside of a very shallow indent to which the new art and plexi fit.
