I might grab one of these if the reviews are good. I just realized I have an empty shell I planned on using to build a custom stick out of. Maybe turn it into a native Dreamcast stick for lulz.

Yeah, I might use one in some project in the future, too. It's also kinda pretty.

New update on PS360+. On April 17th they mentioned that it wouldn't ship until mid May, and now it seems that they will finally reveal the release date on Friday (hopefully?).

Y'know I'm so glad I decided to go with a MC Cthulu+Xbox PCB in my Poison stick. I put my preorder in for a PS360 in March of last year. :o

If this thing ever actually happens maybe I'll put it in my Persona stick.

What is the chance of still finding this cheapy Exar at retail in Japan?

Completely missed it last year :-(

Also, CD Japan came through with the Guilty Gear stick. Pricey, but they can source it for folks with no other option.

It's easy to find. They had a stack of these at Yodobashi Akiba when I went there last month. I got it for retail price.

I'm finally getting around to ordering a custom art for my MVC2 TE stick now and I'm working on the art since I got the evenings off till Monday.

Here's what I'm going for so far.

j7gWL.jpg

I'll likely add trim work around the left side and upper edges to give it a nicer look, but a simple minimalist Iron Fist using my Avatar art is definitely what I'll be doing. I'll keep the Yellow buttons and ball top I have, but I'll pop out the 2 white buttons and either replace those with more yellow or just a pair of blacks out of my My Little Pony Arcade Stick since Black has no business on that stick anyways.

Any thoughts on this or suggestions of good scrollwork or asian looking trim I should try?

I didn't realize these were such a pain to find. I got a vanilla PS360 early, early last year with the intention of using it to mod a SFAC stick with iL/Happ parts. I just got too lazy to finish the mod job, so there it sits. Haha. :(

And here's the Friday update from Akishop Customs.

http://akishop-customs.com/PreOrderList.html
Update May 18th: We will start sending out PS360+ orders very soon now and if it is humanly possible we will have all orders shipped out by the end of the month. Pre-order customers will get an e-mail with shipping cost next week so please wait for that. Customers who ordered HSB or Console Cables will have to wait one extra week after PS360+ has been sent out due to unfortunate courier issues that were out of our control have caused.

Shaowebb, I approve sir.

Then you are going to love this. I just got home from work and was about to do some more work on this and my wife who was home had apparently decided to surprise me by customizing the layout for me! She added the background and kanji and vector traced all the things ever to smooth them out and had even played with my bevel settings since I was complaining about them before I left for work after my post and a few corner thingers later and this was made.

MANLY PICTURE TIME!

This is gonna look so awesome. I included the hole free one for anyone that just wants to use it for other sticks too. If anyone needs a larger sized version then go here. Also a slightly different wallpaper version too here.

So manly. This stick is gonna look great.

I want to do a theme like this to my VLX Pro. Not sure what to do about the huge white sides though, I wonder if anyone sells black replaceable sides like you can with the TE.

There are some places in Akihabara that have them. Game Traders 4 has it but they're asking for a lot.

Cool, also found out a place in Paris called Neo Legend that also has it. Like 80 euro, though. I'm gonna drive there in September so if I don't get it in Japan I'll get it from them. They also have candys so I'm probably gonna get one or two from them to take back to Maryland. Looking to complete my Exar collection for this generation.

If you don't mind, I'll PM you next month for a small list of shops to make sure to hit up in Akihabara that might be worthwhile to find some sticks. Mainly looking for the straggler Exars, and a HRAP 360 SA. Only taking $1000 and want to get some Saturn and PC-Engine shooters and a PCB so I'll only be able to get 2 or three sticks. Also need an RGB cable for my Sigma which should be easy to find, I hope.

What would be the easiest option for converting my PS2 tekken stick into a korean? I've seen some homemade mods, but I don't have the tools to drill out the joystick port to the larger size. I would like to keep the original art on there, but I don't think it's possible with this:

http://www.mkpcustoms.com/hori-conversion-kit

I don't mind soldering.

You can keep the original art on there but it will be a hassle. I honestly think you'd be better off with an art reproduction/plexi using either MKP's solution or blklightning21's. Here is info on his stuff:

And I've now officially gotten my TE stick art ordered from art's hobbies online. I'm pretty excited for this. I'll be using yellow and black buttons and a yellow ball top. Later I'll take the white frame off of this MVC2 stick and replace it with a nice matching black one as well to set the thing off better, but for now I'm playing it tight.

I do have one question, though.

Is there anywhere online that charges a reasonable rate to print arcade stick lamilabels? I don't care if they are etched or not (though if they cut them thats cool) I just need to know if anyone knows a good online store to order any from for my SFIV Madcatz arcade stick.

My local print options are extremely limited as I live in WV (welfare virginia). As is the only place that even has laminate top labels only has them in sizes for my arcade stick. Well I can safely say after customizing the arcade stick with one of those labels that they are shit. Utter and complete garbage...these things just don't last. From the laminate to the adhesive they are just too stiff to contour and pops the glue off. I'd just glue it, but the laminate honest to god cracks too. I asked them and apparently they've had that box of lami-labels since they opened the store many years ago. I'm the only one who has ever needed any and they won't order anymore.

Any help would be greatly appreciated here.

I'd like to purchase the new Hori VF5 Showdown arcade stick but the Hori website doesn't ship to Australia. Does anyone have any idea where else I'd be able to purchase this?

I like the borders, but not so much the kanji. Still great in any case though shaowebb! Now if only Iron Fist was a bit better in UMVC 3...:(

The Kanji is actually the Kanji from the comics behind his logo that translates to "Iron Fist". Also all it'd take for Iron Fist to take off is a Berzerker slash. Its the only thing besides divekicks that makes Wolverine work when he does the same plan. Failing a berzerker slash move give him Frank's roll, but any move to blow past projectiles or to get a go behind is all it'd take. To balance it they may have to add more hit stun detioration to certain moves and lessen his base damage output though because with such a tool to grant his high damage more mixup opportunities he'd need some kind of balancer. Shorter combos and slightly less damage is all I can really think of given his chi properties and crumples allowing him ways to boost damage and get resets with the right setups.

In any case though I want that damned go behind option with him :C

I am thinking of purchasing an arcade stick to use with both PS3/PC and was looking at this one, which costs slightly more than 100 Euro:

Hori Officially Licensed Real Arcade Pro V3 SA

I am a fighting stick n00b, will I have problems pulling moves in fighting games with this one?

Thanks!

Does anybody have any experience with the Qanba/BigBen arcade sticks.

I was at a local tournament and almost all top players used this stick.
It has sanwa parts just like the MadCats TE stick, but also has a nice handhold to carry the thing araound and best of all is PS3/360/Pc compatible all in one!.

Thinking of ordering one, but I would like to hear some impressions of gaf users first...

I'm very sad I missed out on this :( Look at that button layout :)

If that's just a rebranded Qanba (which it looks like) they're great sticks. I use one and have no complaints.

Which is the better stick for fighting games, Qanba or HRAP SA? Hrap is cheaper.

I'd go with the Hori if it's cheaper. Both are gonna have all Sanwa parts and work flawlessly with PS3/PC (or whatever system you have), so go with the cheaper one. The only thing that might sway you one way or another is the design. Some Qanba sticks are pretty sleek looking, while others more clearly reflect their Chinese origin. Hori's have pretty safe, but sturdy designs.

I'm looking to buy a Seimitsu LS-56-01, but can't seem to find a US dealer that stocks them. Any one know a place that has 'em? Europe seems to be swimming in those things though.

I got a Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Stick TE last year and I have a question for you gurus:

How do I use it on my PC? I've tried MotionJoy and gotten it to work with a regular DualShock 3 controller, but it does not work with the TE. I want to play MAME with it...

58-01 should be easier to find - it's supposed to be an updated/better version of the 56-01 too. Can't say that I've tried the 58-01 tho...only the 56.

I just imported mine from akihabarashop tho it took a very long time to ship.

58 is very easy to find, but I'm hesitant to give it a shot. Different accounts all mention a softer spring and longer throw, something akin to a Sanwa, which is the opposite of what I'm looking for. I want to give that legendary 56 stiffness a shot.

I went with Arcadeshop.de. Let's see what happens.

They did, but before they went legit, they tried hawking their own junk parts. It looks super nice though.
Shit, I want one even more now. I just want to swap the PCB board with a paewong one. Love the casing and the space between the stick and buttons. If anyone here is going to Japan soon, holla at the kid. I'll pay upfront for this stick. Fiending right now. Shit, I'll see if I could find that KOF stick and swap everything.

God damn it....meaning I'll have to buy it from eBay for an insanely inflated price.

=(

Or proxy or have a friend stateside get it and send.

Good news is that they are not that expensive on the Hori USA store so should not be too pricey on eBay. Shipping to Australia is gonna be a killer.

So what is the verdict on the new Hori Kuro buttons that come with the Fighting Edge stick?

I read the review on Level|Up, which seemed to indicate that they are quality and comparable to Sanwas, but I'd like to hear more impressions. I recently swapped out my HRAP3 stock buttons for some Sanwas, and I could feel the difference immediately.

Nobody knows until the stick is released. That review was great on SRK link but better to wait till folks get the stick in their hand in the next few weeks.

One thing is for certain: I'm converting a 360 version to all Seimitsu so I'll donate the extra Kuru buttons to somebody here. Maybe somebody wants to make their 360 version all black so I'll give them my four extra black Kuru buttons.

Frikkin' rainbow buttons :/.

They are yours. Only caveat is that if you decide not to use them then kindly pass them along to somebody else!

Probably be end of July as I'm leaving my japanese versions stock and converting my US stick.

I will definitely use them. :)

That's cool. I'm not in a hurry.

Thanks!

OK, I'll send the four black to Skilletor and the four colored buttons to you.

I'm in the minority but (for the most part) I love the four mandatory colored buttons on 360 sticks

It just ruins the stick for me. If the stick is black and blue keep it that way wth the buttons too

Cool, if both of you are cool sending me the rainbow buttons I'll have enough to fully populate one of my sticks with them :3

Not sure if anyone here can answer this question but I might as well ask here anyway:

About a year ago, I paid to get my MadCatz SF4 SE (for 360) dual-modded at ECT. Unfortunately, a few months later I ran into a huge problem where my stick would suddenly stop functioning in the middle of a match and I'd get the "Please reconnect controller" prompt on the screen even though the stick was still connected. This kept happening despite my attempts to fix it, and I friend of mine with the same stick said that it's a sign that the board in the stick was dying so there wasn't much I could do about it. Since the 360 is my main system, I ended up buying a Hori RAP VX-SA a few months ago and I'm really happy with it.

The question I have is this - I don't have experience modding since last time I paid someone to do it, but would it be doable to remove the ChimpSMD from my old stick and install it into my new stick? Since the ChimpSMD is solderless shouldn't I be able to remove it from my old stick without any problem? I'm thinking about making this my weekend project in preparation for ECT, which is PS3-only.

I will say that despite my old stick being unplayable on 360, it seems to still work on PS3 fine without any issues, but I'm really afraid that at some point it'll start having the same disconnect problem it has on 360 which would be awful for a tournament. And to be honest, I'd rather use my new stick on PS3 since I'm more used to it now.
