Thats just a couple of the posts in there attacking op for his opinion. If they want to be offended by someone's opinion, maybe they belong on another forum.

I noticed that VFXVeteran got a temporary ban for complaining about Sony fans. I think it would be a good idea to modify his tag that way it would give him an incentive to change his behavior. While I do enjoy having industry professionals contribute to this forum, I don't enjoy it when they derail threads with unprofessional behavior.

I would hate to see him terminated from GaF so I think giving him an incentive to change his behavior might help him out.

There cannot be a market of ideas when posting left means you're trolled out of the forum. Positions are exceptionally entrenched and stubborn refusal to concede even the most minor of points is a reality, when it comes to left vs right. Something that over time I've become guilty for, as well.

I don't think putting a blanket ban on trolling people, no matter whether -Arcadia- believes they deserve to be trolled or not, is heavy handed moderation. No one wants another reset and I'm a socialdemocrat.



I don't want to relitigate anything from politics, try a heel turn and go hard left for 6 months and see what happens. Suddenly trolling doesn't seem as bad when you're being trolled on a daily basis.

Whenever I click into any thread to do with graphics or technical specs I just know I'll see VFXVeteran fighting alone against the Sonygaf hoards

I think it's worth asking: if VFXVeteran really is the problem, then how come he never seems to have any beef with the Nintendo or Xbox crowd on here? Why is it always VFXVeteran v Sonygaf? It's only a week long ban, so not worth making a huge fuss over (I'm sure he's just enjoying his leftover turkey, alcohol and playing Cyberpunk at ultra settings anyway), but I think he is a little hard done by sometimes. Although his posts can come across as a little abrasive at times, when viewed in light of the frequent goading and insults he gets, I think he is actually fairly restrained in his posting behaviour.

Nah he straight up loves it. The guy is just obsessed with going back and forth with people over the dumbest graphical arguments. He is literally that guy who HAS to justify his 4000 dollar setup. The only reason he isnt arguing with ninty and xbox fanboys is because they havent had any big graphical showcases as of late. The moment Xbox gets a game that people claim looks/runs as good as the PC version...hell be here downplaying it and claiming it looks like shit.

Well, he has said many times that more and more Sony exclusives will be coming to PC (and within a much shorter timeframe too), so your theory may soon be put to the test. In a way it would be a nice and fitting end to the war - a PS5 console exclusive also gets an amazing PC port with all the bells and whistles, which VFXVeteran then declares to be the best looking game on PC. That way, the best looking PC and PS5 game will be one and the same, and peace will reign throughout the Neogaf lands!

Actually, maybe that is a little optimistic, as it still wouldn't please the PS5 "secret sauce" guys, but at least the Sony game studio fans will be happy.

It is almost as if people make decisions based on more than on datapoint and there are people who want each of the three consoles. I'm trying to be better about engaging with good posts and calling out console warring when it begins to take over a thread.
