gotcha. Give that to the 4th place guy then.Cloudy said:I think I'd rather have a 4th place prize than reward a non-playoff team![]()
Especially is you miss the draft. We had 2-3 guys not make it last year and it was like their season was dead.Crazymoogle said:I voted for $50. I'm all for big buy-ins but at 16 teams the amount of luck involved is a bit wild. At 14 or less no problem with it though.
AlteredBeast said:I missed the draft last year and still could have won the league (would have, in fact, barring my absymal week 2 in the playoffs)
That's kind of my issue. I'm all on board with $100 but have yet to vote as I'd rather we play for $50 than have people bail due to not being able to pony up the cash.Cloudy said:Hmm, I guess that's not a bad idea. Let's see how the vote shakes out first. Also, if $100 wins, are there people who will refuse to play?
UberTag said:having a 100% committed owner pool trumps any dollar value attached to winning.
You have to indicate it on the Poll.Puddles said:I really can't afford $100, so if I get in, consider me a $50 vote.
Deadly Cyclone said:We should do a second league for free or $20 or something. I can't afford $100 and &50 is pushing it but I'd love to do a Gaf league...

What I usually do is the ESPN Gridiron Challenge, where you're given a fantasy $50 mill budget and pick different players each week, that I've been doing for over 10 years. I only started real Fantasy Football in Cloudy's 2009 league. As for trades, I run my team the same way I would run it in Gridiron Challenge. If I don't think the longterm beats the short term, I'm jettisoning players based on matchups/research.acksman said:After last year I could have swore you had been doing this for a while with the smack talk and all and trades.
Vyer said:I'd be a complete newb to a GAF league, but if you guys form a second league or whatever I'd like in. I'd be down for 20 or 50. I don't even know where to vote. lol
20? I thought we were capping out at 16 in the league? From the looks of it, we should just split into two leagues. Seems like there's enough people who want $50 and enough who want $100.Cloudy said:It is tied at 8 now with 16 of 20 having voted. At this rate it seems super close. How about a compromise at $75?
The Frankman said:Wow you guys should see the full list of changes in 2011 Yahoo Fantasy Football.
Stuff like new categories for scoring if you choose to use them, configurable Draft Times and the option to reset a draft.
Seems like a custom option. I think you could make it 0 if you want.effzee said:I am confused. Is the new scoring system only for the default Yahoo scoring? Because I have a league with custom scoring settings. Will those get changed too?
we are capping at 16, it was my understanding Cloudy is just making sure in case people bail. Also two ten person leagues? Bleh. We'd need more people in both leagues then.20? Frankman could be the commissioner of the $50 league.

Puddles said:We should definitely go with 1 point per 10 yards, screw tenths of a point. Along with a bonus for 100 yards rushing or receiving. Everyone needs to get the experience of having their RB1 rush for exactly 99 yards under such a system.
Oh, i'm not saying we should do two 10 team leagues, I'm pretty sure there's way more than just 20 people who want in.The Frankman said:Seems like a custom option. I think you could make it 0 if you want.

Instead of a compromise of $75, you could always hedge things at $62.50. Leaves you with a combined prize pool of an even $1,000 (between 16 people) that way.Cloudy said:With 17 votes in, it's 9-8 for $50. Either side will want a recount after some folks drop and we whittle out the 4 waitlist spots. How do you guys like my compromise idea?
$62.50 x 16 = $1000... yay math!Cloudy said:How did you come up with $62.50 and I have a feeling the $100 crowd won't prefer that lol
UberTag said:I know you've been doing this "Top 3" get paid scenario the past two years, but I'd feel awfully shitty being the 4th place team in that arrangement. Especially if that Week 15 contest was super close and the "3rd place team with a better record" got blown out in theirs.
Hey! change this! I always am willing to trade my virtual 1st round pick every year! Who's willing?Allow Draft Pick Trades: No
The main reason why draft pick trades wouldn't make much sense here is that draft order is set 30 minutes beforehand. If this was a long-term keeper league where the order was pre-determined (i.e. reverse the prior year's standings) it would be a doable idea but not with this format. The Frankman said:Does Yahoo even have a Divisional League setup?
