I would like to join.

This would be my 3rd year with the GAF crew. I have a total of 5 years(going on 6) in Hockey Pools.

Last year's GAF league was based on: G, A, +/-, PIM, PPP, SHP,HIT, W, GAA, SV%, SHO

you def need to be in this year man

8 more people - keep it going!

Why don't we see how many we get and figure out league size from there? We already have enough for three leagues of 10.

yeah, your right, i'm being stupid. sorry im not thinking straight im doing like three things at once right now haha. I just didn't want there to be a situation where we didn't have an even amount of people

Since we are having more than 2 now (awesome!), any name suggestions?
So far we have a Manics and Tabris Division, need a third

I want to be part of the "Classless" Division

Another one I like and we have in my league full of flyers fans. The problem you run into is devaluing goalies. Our league makes Scott Hartnell a top 20 player with hits, PIMS, blocked shots, and PPP. He was one of my best players last year. Stats like those really change the outlook of a league to look more like real hockey. They might be good since we have so many people because they make worse players more valuable.
That sounds pretty bad. PIMS should definitely be excluded, imo. Hits and blocked shots are good contributions, but you'd definitely need to reduce their weight.

We could do classless, fleeced, and salty divisions.

I actually think its great for leagues with lots of teams. Steve Downie and Hartnell are players that should get fantasy time. Unfortunately all categories have to weigh evenly. Hartnell and Downie can be great because they contribute everywhere. That should be important. High point players are still necessary to win the big categories. Teams look like real teams. That's the best part.

Are we gonna do head to head? That's my personal preference, but I know people who prefer just a stats league.

How does that work? Never played H2H but I would be down to try it out.

Count me as interested.
Been playing fantasy football for years but have yet to dabble in a fantasy hockey league so this is fresh territory.

I think there may be a few people in the other thread who said they were interested not in here. Rev for sure, but I think there may be one or two others.

I'll remind them in that thread.

Looks like we might need another division name!

You have a much smaller roster. Typically 2 for each skater with a 1-2 bench spots and 1 goalie. And you're typically limited to the amount of moves you can make per week to 1 or 2.o

Each week (Sunday to Sunday) you're matched against another team in the pool. During the course of the week you see which team gets the most: G, A, +/-, PIM, PPG, SHG, GWG (though our stats may be different) and goalies were: Wins, GAA, SV%, Shutouts.

You get 2 points for everything you did better at. So if your guys had more goals you get 2 points, I get 0 even if I had 22 to your 24. If you have two stats that are equal you get 1 point.

If you have more Goals, A, PIM, Wins and GAA than me you would get 10 points for the week.

Ahhh, I thought the thread was about a simulated hockey league. If it's the Yahoo pools, I have 5 years experience, 3 with GAF I think..but all 3 years I missed the draft.

I'm interested. My fantasy experience would be 5 years of work pools, 3 years of boring box pools and 2 years of full draft, trade and sign pools. I have won a total of $600ish from fantasy pools (won 1st year of full draft and 1 of the playoff box pools). Oh and I'm 16/16 right for next year so that should translate also to the playoff pool nicely.

Please put me in the more competitive league. If picking which league someone is in, I should be the Ryan Nugent-Hopkins of your choice.
