1. XCOM 2. The latest XCOM was fantastic, and XCOM 2 looks like it's bringing tons of improvements to the formula set down in the first, so yeah, I'm pretty excited.
2. Total War: Warhammer. The super obvious game that should've happened sooner is finally happening, and it is glorious.
3. Deus Ex Mankind Divided. Human Revolution was one of the best games of last gen so I have high hopes for MD.
4. Stellaris. Paradox Grand Strategy in space YES PLEASE.
5. Dark Souls 3. Always up for more souls games.
6. Mass Effect: Andromeda. Cautiously optimistic that it will turn out pretty good. I have mixed feelings on the series as a whole but love the atmosphere and world building of 1.
7. Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth. Everything about this game looks great and I'm hyped for the north american release.
8. Hitman. Looks like a return to form for the franchise, and I'm ready for another good hitman game.
9. Dragon Quest Builders. Minecraft plus Dragon Quest is something I never realized I wanted, but I do.
10. Darkest Dungeon. An awesome blend of horror and roguelike, eagerly awaiting the full release.

1. Uncharted 4 - Arguably my favorite series of all time, this easily takes the number 1 spot for me.
2. Horizon: Zero Dawn - Great to see something new from Guerilla and given some of the people they brought on board for this I'm looking forward to the change of pace for their studio.
3. Ace Combat 7 - There's nothing like Ace Combat when it comes to fighter games and I've waited since the PS2 days for a proper new game.
4. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - Deus Ex being one of my all time favorites I've pretty much checked out every game since then.
5. No Man's Sky - Really eager to explore this universe, looks like a game I could get lost in.

These are the games that I absolutely have to have next year, I'm sure there will be a few extras that crop up along the way.

1. Plants Vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2: The first was incredible and GW2 doesn't seem to be getting enough hype! This is a confirmed day one for me and my mates so hopefully it builds on the first.

2. Uncharted 4: An amazing franchise and have loved everything I've seen of the latest instalment so far! The Collection will be getting another run through before this releases.

3. Gears of War 4: Another incredible franchise, hopefully the multiplayer is somewhere between 1 & 3 and we'll be in business.

4. Street Fighter V: Always an event when a new Street Fighter launches and can't wait to put some hours in and a great excuse to get a shiny new stick! Only let down is the exclusivity, anything that reduces the player base on this type of game is a negative.

5. The Last Guardian: It's been a long time coming, Ico & Shadow of the Collossus are incredible and everything looks perfect so far.

6. Doom: Looking fantastic so far, some classic Doom gameplay.

7. Dark Souls 3: Bloodborne in 2015 and DS3 in 2016, we are spoilt!

8. Horizon Zero Dawn: Terrible name aside this looks like it could be the hot new IP.

Impressed by JDHarbs top 10 image I tried to duct tape one of my own together.

  1. Nier: Automata : Give me something as affective as NieR with Platinum combat and you've got me forever. The only game on my list I have dangerously high expectations for which I hope I can bring to a realistic level before it releases.
  2. The Last Guardian : If its world is anything like ICO/SotC then I shouldn't have any trouble loving every minute of it.
  3. Gravity Rush 2 : The music, exploration and peaceful gem collecting in the beautifully designed world was so much fun in the first. That's all I'll need to get me invested in the second.
  4. Persona 5 : Six years of development for a sequel to maybe the most widely regarded game in the franchise. I'll be interested to see how much they change the formula compared to P3->P4.
  5. Dark Souls III : This should be way higher on the list of someone who has spent multiple thousands of hours playing & watching Souls games. Loved BB, but it was a hard swing after DS2's very unique looking 80+ armors, 200+ weapons & shields, both with lots of unique effects, and the variety in magic types. So I'm a little worried about the focus on additional stances & movesets for weapons. DS3 has a lot of weight on its shoulders to please a much wider audience than before.
  6. No Man's Sky : With expectations so high this game is going to get torn to shreds, but I think I will be able to find a relaxing exploration game I'll really enjoy.
  7. Dragon Quest XI : Loved the NES installments, loved Heroes, loved VIII, loved IX, previews look stunning. Very interested to see if they are going to try and streamline the menu-driven combat at all.
  8. Ni-Oh : From that most recent demo it looked almost 100% inspired by Souls games, I'm always excited to see more studios' takes on that style of game.
  9. Horizon: Zero Dawn : Mainly anticipating more details about the world and the combat. I like what I've seen but I'm still not quite sure what the game is actually going to be.
  10. Zero Time Dilemma : 999 was maybe the most innovative visual novel ever. VLR wasn't bad either. What is Zero Time Dillema going to be?

  1. Horizon: Zero Dawn
  2. Yakuza 0 (It would be number 1 but im not sure if it counts)
  3. Hitman
  4. Dark Souls 3
  5. Final Fantasy XV
  6. The Last Guardian
  7. Uncharted 4
  8. Gravity Rush 2
  9. Dragon Quest XI
  10. Ni-Oh

1) Scalebound - It's a Kamiya game, and one of the reasons I bought an Xbox One. Looks insanely great.

2) Final Fantasy XV - Love the concept (road trip with your bros!), love the setting. The gameplay and creature design looks totally on point, and I love that key members of Crisis Core's production team are associated with the title. This is the first time I've been excited for a Final Fantasy game since XII.

3) NieR: Automata - I haven't even played the original, but a new full budget action game by Platinum is a big deal.

4) Mass Effect: Andromeda - I love the hell out of this franchise. Sign me up for more.

5) Tekken 7 - My favorite fighting game series. I'm assuming the console version will release in 2016.

6) The Last Guardian - A spiritual successor to Ico and Shadow of the Colossus? Yes please.

7) The Legend of Zelda - Zelda is actually not one of my favorite series, but I like the world and the characters. I'm very much into the idea of a new open world Zelda game.

8) Star Fox Zero - If Platinum has shown one quality besides their action game expertise, it's their extraordinary ability to capture the essence of a classic franchise. We saw this in Metal Gear Rising and Transformers: Devastation, and the latest footage of SFZ indicates they're going to absolutely nail the gameplay and tone of Star Fox as well. I loved Star Fox 64 back in day, so I'm excited to see what Platinum can bring to that great formula.

9) Dishonored 2 - The original game was a great surprise, with its stealth and combat-oriented abilities that were so fun to combine. I love games that give you a versatile set of tools and then turn you loose in a world with diverse challenges to solve. Even if Dishonored 2 is just more of the same, I'm ready.

10) Killer Instinct: Season 3 - If S3 maintains the quality of the first two seasons, it'll be great.

I don't like what id did with Doom at all judging by the very first footage from E3 2015 - looks boring, dead and empty

What do you mean by "dead and empty"? For a franchise that's about being a lone marine killing demons, I'm curious what you think should be done differently.

Well, there's too much free and open space on the map. I know, it's supposed to give you more space to move around the map but I don't like this approach at all. I feel like something is missing for sure....

For a franchise that's about being a lone marine killing demons, I'm curious what you think should be done differently.
There should be more fluid, non-stop and aggressive action, more enemies on the screen and much better level design without huge rooms full of nothing but 3-4 enemies. Plus, I don't know about you, but I'd like to also use environment to kill enemies and maybe weapons+environment/abilities+enviroments like in Bulletstorm for example. All of this should motivate you to try different mechanics and abilities to kill monsters which also adds a variety to gameplay. I don't want to just shoot monsters and occasional use chainsaw (which will get old pretty fast like in Doom 3).

The gameplay in E3 footage is way too slow, clunky and boring, I don't want to play new Doom in this state, I'd rather play Wolfenstein: The New Order which is a hell of a lot better in terms of action and gameplay, not to mention level design and everything else, but id just can't do what MachineGames did with the story, characters and everything else, they just don't have the right people to pull this off, so I don''t expect it from them and I don't think that Doom needs all this at all

I think you're just getting the wrong impression due to how the E3 demo was played. The E3 player moved around slowly to show off the environments and various features.

The new DOOM is anything but clunky. Everything from shooting, to moving, to double-jumping, to mantling, to melee executing feels really slick and smooth. And while the raw movement speed isn't as fast as pure PC arena shooters, the game still ends up feeling fast due to the lack of reloading, the lack of aiming down the sites, and your ability to double-jump and execute enemies. You're constantly moving and attacking.

The level design in DOOM also puts function as the top priority. The levels are designed around your ability to be vertical and do some platforming, and that's for both exploration and combat. DOOM's E3 presentation consisted of that first "Mars Foundry" demo and that second "Hell" demo. If you remember the very beginning of the Foundry demo, there's that big open space the player begins at. There are various platforms below the player that they could have jumped to and perhaps find secrets, for example. Then if you remember the Hell demo, there's various vertical platforms the player was jumping to in order to evade enemies and collect power-ups (you can see the Soul Sphere on one of the highest platforms).

Lastly, there's a couple sections in the E3 demo where 9-10 enemies were present at once. I think that's a fair amount to ask for, and it's a big improvement over Doom 3's use of 1-2 enemies at time for the majority of the game.

On the other hand, Wolfenstein: The New Order still had various gameplay elements that encouraged taking cover and playing slower. I've played both games and if you think Wolfenstein has the faster, more aggressive gameplay, then you'll be in for a treat when you play DOOM. Granted, I don't think DOOM will have a story as strong as Wolfenstein's, since the story probably won't be emphasized nearly as much.

Doom '16 looks like a modern version of Brutal Doom. In a world where Doom is still just as perfect today, with as many viable WADs being crafted for it, the 2016 reboot looks irrelevant before it even comes out.

Not the case. Just because executions are present doesn't mean it plays just like Brutal Doom. The combat is balanced in a similar way to the original games and the double-jumping/mantling/vertical level design makes it feel different than both games.

1. The Last Guardian : I loved Ico and Shadow of the Colossus and have waited patiently for The Last Guardian for years and years. It's almost hard to believe I'll finally get to play it soon.
2. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End : Development may have been shaky and I'm a big fan of Amy Hennig but I have faith in Naughty Dog. I'm sure U4 will be an incredible game.
3. Horizon: Zero Dawn : The premise, gameplay, art style and gameplay all look and sound amazing. I'm really hoping Guerrilla knock this out of the park, after stumbling a bit with the Killzone franchise after Killzone 2.
4. Mirror's Edge Catalyst : I absolutely loved the first game, so I can't wait for this one. I just hope they don't screw it up.
5. Persona 5 : It's been a long time waiting but even if Atlus fail to live up to Persona 4's standard, I'm sure Persona 5 will be incredible.
6. NieR Automata : Taro Yoko, Keiichi Okabe and Platinum Games. The credits dreams are made of.
7. Zero Time Dilemma : It's still kinda hard to believe this is happening. I'm not sure how Kotaro Uchikoshi is planning on wrapping up the trilogy but I'm sure it'll be spectacular.
8. Yakuza 0 : I love me some Yakuza, so I'm really excited for more, this time with young Kiryu and young Majima.
9. Firewatch : Firewatch looked awesome from the minute I saw it. It's a really cool concept with incredible art design.
10. Ratchet & Clank : The franchise has had a few off installments but now that they've given it a couple of years off and a larger budget to make a full scale R&C game, I'm excited to see the result.

Honourable Mentions:
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Gravity Rush 2
No Man's Sky
Final Fantasy XV

1. Uc4. Graphics aren't the only or most important thing, but I am a sucker for good graphics and Uc4 in my opinion looks like it could be the best looking game on a console thus far, hands down. Not only that, but I like to play a game with a good story. I love Uc2, lots of fond memories with it and I can't wait to see just how ND (Nathan Drake/Naughty Dog's) story ends.

2. Me4. I am not over the Me3 ending and I never will be, BUT, just like Uc2, I got a lot of fond memories playing Me2, that game I honestly feel like it changed my life in gaming forever. So as bad as Me3 is, still doesn't undo the greatness of Me2 and the ME series. Very interested to see where the series goes.

3. Persona 5. As I said before, I like a game with a good story. I just discovered Persona this year and apparently it is a very story driven game. "Social links" makes me think a lot of the things you decide to do will make a variety of things happen, and I'm still keen to know just how the "persona" works and operates and whether you're a hero, anti-hero, or a small time villain.

4. Tekken 7. I grew up playing Tekken and I stopped caring about it for a long time due it going multi-platform and generally being disappointed with Tekken 6, but what's most interesting to me about it is the story. And Tekken 7 promises to give closure and conclude the long running Mishima clan curse saga. Plus, there aren't a lot of fictional Arab/Middle Eastern characters held in a good light, and Shaheen seems like he will be a good guy.

5. Horizon: Zero Dawn. I have to admit, I really want to play the game just to know about these robot dinosaurs. Are they completely manmade, or are they organic, and just totally clad in metal like MetalGarurumon? Also, Aloy looks really appealing to me because of how she isn't sexualized. Honestly, I'm not fond of how females are sexualized 90% of the time in video games.

6. Street Fighter 5. I honestly have not cared about Street Fighter since Street Fighter X + Alpha, but the fact that it is an exclusive makes me interested in it. Plus, the crossplay. And who knows...with the addition of Akuma in Tekken 7, maybe Nina or some other Tekken character will show up in it.

7. No Man's Sky. Similarly to SF5, its exclusivity makes it more attractive to me, but I do also like space stuff. Just wish I knew if it'll be a Minecraft or if there'll be an actual campaign.

8. Yakuza 6. I really should just put Yakuza 0 or Xtreme coz those are the ones that'll actually come here next year, but Yakuza 6 will be the first game in the series built from the ground up for this gen. Yakuza 3 imo was a great game, especially its story.

9. Dreams. I don't even know if it's been announced for 2016, but I'm a big fan of MM, I love LBP especially LBP2, and even though I want an LBP4 from them, I'm sure whatever Dreams will be will definitely be a fun time.

10. This last spot I'll give to Crackdown 3, Scalebound, Quantum Break, Cuphead, and Halo Wars. These are games I won't get to play but still interested to know more about. Crackdown I want to really see how the "cloud" delivers, Scalebound to me is the most intriguing Xbone exclusive, Quantum Break imo will be Xbox's next big IP next to Halo, Gears of War, Forza, Fable and Titanfall (sorta), Cuphead is just super unique, and Halo Wars is the next game in the Halo series.

1. Persona 5: It has been my most anticipated game for years now. The style of a Persona game just can't be ignored.
2. Final Fantasy XV: Final Fantasy is one of my favorite series of all time and I am ready for a return to form.
3. Legend of Zelda Wii U: Huge, beautiful open world in a series without shitty side quests? Sign me up.
4. Nier: Automata: I absolutely love the first game and with Platinum handling the combat... Let's just say I am excited.
5. Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness: Another series that needs to return to form. Star Ocean IV was leagues worse than anything ever given the FF branding though. Luckily this installment is looking amazing.
6. Dragon Quest XI: DRAGONS! QUESTING! ELEVENS!
7. Illusory Revelations ♯FE: Reminds me of Persona, which is certainly not a bad thing.
8. Horizon: Zero Dawn: Very, very interesting. Could potentially be huge for me... or not.
9. Ni-Oh: Onimusha meets Dark Souls? FUCK YEAH!
10. No Man's Sky: My hype has dwindled over time, but make no mistake, I will be putting a lot of time in.

3.) Dark Souls 3 - More Souls.
4.) Mass Effect Andromeda

Almost as tough as top 10 GOAT list. I doubt most of these games will release in 2016, but here goes.
