This is the first year that I actually have more than 10 games that I'm looking forward to. 2017 is going to be hype.
 
1. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild: The only game I'm truly hyped about this year. GIVE IT TO ME!
2. Yooka-Laylee: Very excited to see what Playtonic has in store for us.
3. Ever Oasis: A forgotten gem of a game! Can't wait to see what Grezzo does with their own new IP.
4. Dragon Quest XI: Very promising! Hoping to get this on Switch.
5. Persona 5: Probably will get this down the road.If I get it near launch, it will be on my PS3.
6. Horizon Zero Dawn: The game that, depending on reviews and word of mouth, might cause me to take the plunge and buy a PS4.
7. A Hat in Time: Been interested in this since the Kickstarter launched.

1. Nier: Automata : The hidden star of the ,,E3 of dreams". It's not like anyone ever even thought about a new Nier by Platinum Games, unlike a remake of Final Fantasy.
2. Nioh : This hopefully will be to Souls what Ninja Gaiden was to DMC. The trailers keep getting better.
3. Resident Evil VII: Biohazard : I'm absolutely not a fan of first person horror walking simulators. But soon after the announcement it was clear that this would be much more than that. I'll miss 3rd person gameplay and the old characters, but this will seemingly bring classic RE survival horror to a new level.
4. Yakuza 0 : I skipped 5. Can't wait for this at retail with an intriguing twist on Kamurocho.
5. South Park: The Fractured But Whole : The last game was better than most modern seasons of the show and also had surprisingly great gameplay. I also applaud that they are actually changing things up for the sequel.
6. Zelda: Breath of the Wild : Zelda is kind of mandatory, since it's one of my favorite series. But my hype is decreasing ever since E3. Awful marketing so far (i.e. the opening areas became stale before I even played it) and the graphics look really bad occasionally. I.e. not much of the original (superior) teaser seems to be left.
7. Project Sonic 2017 : We've waited long enough for the real successor to Sonic Generations. Good to see Sega depriving everything after that in the teaser.
8. Ni no Kuni II : The latest trailer seemed like it might have a battle system that's actually playable this time around - catiously hyped.
9. Yooka-Laylee : Not a fan of its looks, but within the 3d platformer genre you take everything you can get.
10. For Honor : I was hyped, but getting a little cautious after rumours of online-only.

Don't see why you get mad about a simple question, when there's already a lot more people voting for DLC, saving posts, or not putting any text.

This is gonna be hard to rank but i'll do my best.

1) Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite (MAHVEL BABY)

2) Mass Effect: Andromeda ( Never played the first ME, but i absolutely adore ME 2 and 3. Can't wait to see where the series is headed to next.)

3)Red Dead Redemption 2 ( Rockstar is no doubt the best when it comes to open world games and RDR was amazing, no reason for this to not be another masterpiece)

4)Injustice 2 ( First Injustice was one of my favorite fighters last gen and i'm a huge DC fan. Injustice universe really intrigues me, i'm especially curious about the story)

5)Crash Bandicoot: N-Sane Trilogy ( PSX Crash games were very special to me when i was a kid so this will be a unique nostalgia trip for me)

6)South Park: Fractured But Whole ( South Park humour and super heroes? I absolutely LOVED SoT,, and this time with super heroes? Bring it on, i say)

7)Horizon: Zero Dawn ( Beautiful looking action RPG with awesome looking combat. And there's mechanical dinasours. Yep, yep, yep.)

8)Uncharted: Lost Legacy ( I loved every single aspect of Uncharted 4 and only thing i questioned was Chloe's whereabouts. Now we'll find out)

9)Yooka-Laylee ( 3D platformers are my shit and this one shaping up to be an amazing one.)

10)Star Wars: Battlefront Sequel (Well, we don't know anything about the game but knowing DICE is making it and it's FREAKIN' STAR WARS is enough for me to get excited)

2. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard : the 3 gameplay videos really sold me. they are taking RE in an exciting direction and I can't wait to see what kind of messed up monsters and scenarios they've cooked up
3. Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony : I need my Danganronpa fix after dropping the anime. seriously, the first 2 are god tier games, I've got high hopes.
4. Horizon Zero Dawn : one of the few exciting open worlds that I can't wait to explore
5. Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom : best artstyle award
6. The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 3rd : what a wonderful and long journey this series has been. I'm sure the third game wont disappoint.
7. Dragon Quest Heroes II : seems like there's less of an emphasis on the musou aspect, which I welcome
8. Divinity: Original Sin 2 : can't wait for this one since the first game has one of the funnest combat systems I've experienced in a CRPG
9. Nier: Automata : a yoko taro experience with a great battle system? yes, please
10. Gravity Rush 2 : played the remaster and loved it, so I can't wait for the continuation of the story and to mess with the gravity mechanics some more
 
1. The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild : One of my favorite series appears to be getting welcome changes to its sometimes tired formula.

2. Horizon Zero Dawn - I like action RPGs, fantasy and sci-fi. An action RPG with high production values in which I battle mechanical creatures has a lot of elements calling out to me.

3. Nioh - I recently got more into Dark Souls and Bloodborne. This reminds me of them in a cool new setting. Based on the demos, I may prefer the pace and flow of Nioh. It may be due to experience but I feel like I got acclimated to its style more easily than From Software's games.

4. Resident Evil VII Biohazard - Another series I like undergoing change. I don't know what to expect and I like sequels being experimental while maintaining their identity.

5. South Park The Fractured But Whole - The Stick of Truth is one of my favorite recent RPGs. Its story and setpieces were funny and unique and its fast pace and relatively short length were welcome in a genre whose games often bore me at times.

6. NieR Automata - The first's story and world are interestingly weird and the involvement of Platinum Games makes the action more appealing.

7. Scalebound - So far, it seems a bit messy, but I like the concept and most of Platinum Games' larger productions. I'm cautiously optimistic.

8. Mass Effect Andromeda - I'm into the sci-fi action and party member conversations. Ideally, there will be a greater sense of exploration but I enjoyed all the previous games for what they were.

9. Gravity Rush 2 -The gravity manipulation abilities are unique and the more colorful art style appeals more than the first's.

10. Prey - It's from the makers of recent favorite Dishonored, has an interesting space setting and seemingly fun abilities.

Of course if such games like KH3, FF7R (lol), DQ XI would have a 2017 release date they would be high on the list. On side note just noticted 2017 may be crazy good.
I hope persona will be on the top 10 list for 3rd year in a row lol
 
1. Mass Effect Andromeda: aside from the ending of 3 (and I felt the extended cut redeemed it at least partially), the ME trilogy was my absolute favorite thing to come out of last generation
2. Red Dead Redemption 2: my favorite developer making a sequel to my favorite game of theirs. Fuck. Yes.
3. Horizon Zero Dawn: the Killzone series has never interested me in the slightest, so I was excited to see GG so something new, and everything they've shown/said so far just seems too good to be true. Even if it disappoints I'll still give them major props for doing something so far out of their comfort zone
4. Persona 5: I've actually never played a Persona game, but everything about this game just oozes style and seems like something I could really get into
5. NieR Automata: a Yoko Taro story with Platinum combat. Need I say anything else?
6. Nioh: loved the beta so much. Can't wait
7. Resident Evil VII Biohazard: taking one of my favorite series back to horror. The gunplay they show in the trailers looks weird, but the simple fact that RE is scary again has me stoked
8. Yakuza 0: love the Yakuza series, heard from some that this is the best one yet
9. Prey: never played the original Prey and while I wish it was more in line with what Prey 2 was going to be, I love the shit out of everything they've shown and Arkane is an awesome developer
10. Ni No Kuni II Revenant Kingdom: first game was the best JRPG of last gen IMO, and if they can improve the combat we could have a repeat of that this gen. Worth the money just to look at the gorgeous art style

Dragon Quest XI would have been 5 if it were confirmed for the west

1. Persona 5: It's been a long time coming... Almost there.
2. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild: To be fair this is probably the title I have the highest expectations for. It just looks like it has tremendous potential and if they play their cards right this could turn out to be a top 10 game for me.
3. Dragon Quest XI: This looks phenomenal and I can't wait, even if chances are we won't be getting this next year in the west.
4. Nioh: The demo was freaking great. Gameplay, atmosphere, everything about this game looks on point.
5. Nier: Automata : Great combat, great OST and has the potential for a good story if what people say about Yoko Taro is true.
6. Horizon: Zero Dawn : Gameplay looks really fun and the visuals are gorgeous.
7. Red Dead Redemption 2 :A new Rockstar open world game, and a sequel to one of their most beloved titles, I don't need to say anything else.
8. Ni No Kuni 2: A high-budget (for the genre) HD JRPG can only be a good thing on my book.
9. South Park: The Fractured but Whole : The Paper Mario successor we deserve.
10. Tales of Berseria: Despite not being a Tales fan, everything I've seen from this one looks interesting and it has good word of mouth going for it so I'm moderately interested.

Funny how the first 2 places on my list are the same as last year.
 
1. Nier: Automata: I can't wait to see what awaits us from Yoko Taro's twisted mind. That the game looks to play well is just icing on the cake.

2. Persona 5: More Persona is a good thing, and this game looks like it's going to be good.

3. Battletech: I'm still having a hard time believing that there's actually a turn-based Battletech tactical game being made, and that it's coming out next year. Also Harebrained Schemes has a pretty darned good track record, so I'm sure they're going to deliver.
 
It is somewhat unfortunate that January 12th is going to miss the deadline, since I'm sure a few Switch titles would make the cut for me, but haven't been officially announced or confirmed yet. The same goes for a few PS4 games I'm expecting to get a release in 2017, but that haven't been thus scheduled yet officially. I'll probably update my list later either for formatting or if other release dates become better known.


1. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild : It's been my most anticipated game 4 years in a row now, and although I'm beginning to feel more and more ridiculous, I'm optimistic this'll finally be the year we get to play it. On the upside, at least I no longer have to call it The Legend of Zelda Wii U.

2. Red Dead Redemption 2 : Red Dead Redemption is one of the towering achievements of the 7th generation, and one of my favourite games of all time. I've been hoping for a sequel announcement for over 5 years now. Even though we know laughably little about it, the name alone, and the possibilities it brings with it are enough to make me giddy with anticipation.

3. Mass Effect: Andromeda : In spite of their flaws, I am a huge fan of the Bioware RPGs, so there is no way around this game for me. I'm looking forward to seeing one of my favourite modern franchises brought to life with the Frostbite engine, and hopeful that appropriate lessons were learned from Inquisition's world and quest design.

4. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy : I originally didn't include this one because I wasn't sure if it was scheduled to be released next year. However, with it being eligible, I feel I have to give it a spot. Uncharted 4 is likely going to be my GotY for 2016, and if this standalone story focusing on Chloe and Nadine is anything like it, I can barely wait to get my hands on it. Given Uncharted 4's ending, I'm interested to see ND explore other characters as protagonists in their own spin-offs or even in mainline titles going forward.

5. Horizon Zero Dawn : I'm not terribly familiar with Guerilla Game's previous output, and going from the rather linear Killzone franchise to the much more open Horizon is sure to be quite a challenge. At the same time, the game looks absolutely gorgeous and its setting has me more than a little intrigued. Now that I own a PS4, I find it hard not to get excited for what is looking to be next year's biggest exclusive.

6. Resident Evil VII : I would say that I hold a healthy amount of scepticism towards Resident Evil VII, in part because of the change in direction and the first person perspective, but mostly because of the parts of the game that Capcom has chosen to highlight. I'm definitely willing to sink my teeth into a good survival horror, and I have a lot of love for the RE series, but I'd like to know more about the gameplay balance before committing to an early purchase.

7. Yooka-Laylee : As a KS backer, I had the opportunity to mess with the Toybox for a bit this year, and while the version contained in it is rough, it shows a tremendous amount of potential. As a big fan of Rare's work on the N64, and someone who enjoys 3D action-adventures / platformers in general, I was on board with this game since the crowdfunding campaign was announced, and what we've been shown since has only solidified my desire to play the finished product.

8. South Park: The Fractured But Whole : I managed to finally get back to The Stick of Truth and finishing it earlier this year, but even just playing the first half of it a few years ago, I fell in love with the way the show was brought to life by Obsidian. After that, there's no way I could not want to play the sequel, especially given the focus on the Coon / Mysterion sub-universe (which is one of my favourite SP arcs).

9. Persona 5 : I'm a complete newcomer to the Persona series, and not all that experienced with JRPGs, in general. At the same time, I have found a lot to love in other Atlus games, and the amount of visual style of this one is undeniable. Also, after such a long wait, I'm just itching to see what all the fuss was about.

10. For Honor : This one caught my attention immediately when it was announced, but I was always cautiously optimistic at best about it, mostly because I was worried there would not be much here outside of the multiplayer. Now, having played a campaign demo at Gamescom, I'm much more open to the idea of jumping into it. Alas, the announcement of an internet connection being required has somewhat dampened my excitement, so now I'm thinking I might wait for impressions.

1. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild: When it comes to the Big 3, I only play on portables. Now that the Switch has been confirmed, I can't believe I'll actually be playing the next big Zelda on a portable device. The art-style looks great and the promise of an adventure and other great stuff from the E3 demos.

2. Persona 5: I didn't play the 4th entry but I did experience it through NicoB's Let's Play of it. I loved it to bits due to the playthrough itself and the nice mix of visual novel, life-sim and main story elements. I can't wait to experience all this again with this latest entry, especially due to the positive impressions from the Japanese version. If it releases on the Switch then that's even better.

1. Persona 5: I absolutely love Persona 3 and 4. The music, the story, the characters... to me, they're feel good games and i know that Persona 5 is going to that too. Just judging from trailers the new characters seem cool, the world and side content alot better and i have no doubt that the Devs have created a fantastic piece of software with this game.
2. Horizon: Zero Dawn: ROBO DINOS!
3. Red Dead Redemption 2: I 100%ed the first game and enjoyed it much more than Rockstars other big series GTA. The Wild West setting is much more interesting to me. The first game is a 10/10 to me, spend so much time with it, playing poker with people online... this is going to take all the time i have.
4. Injustice 2: Injustice made me love fighting games! Before they were just button mashers but with this DC fighting game i started to play those games "seriously", spend time in training, learn, fight online... The second game looks much more colorful and the new big thing, the Gear System sounds really cool on paper.
5. Yakuza 0: 80s setting, really cool side content, PLAYABLE MAJIMA... i already love the Yakuza series, so of course i was going to be hyped for this title.
6. Windjammers This is one of the best Multiplayer Games of all time, and now it's getting Online Multiplayer! Easy to jump in, but can entertain you for hours. I already know that i will spend way too much time on this.
7. Matterfall: Housemarque is a fantastic dev, been hyped since it's reveal. Resogun is still a Top 3 PS4 Game, so i have no doubt they will deliver again.
8. Yakuza Kiwami: I'm not as hyped for this one as i am for Zero because its out later, but i'm still really happy and excited that we're getting this game. And more Yakuza is always a good thing.
9. Nex Machina: Housemarque has yet to make a bad game. They're always alot of fun. The kings of Gameplay, and this looks to be kickass again.
10. Full Throttle Remastered: The original is one of my favorite games ever made. Excited to play through it again.

1. Horizon - Zero Dawn: Probably my most anticipated new IP since Demon's Souls.
2. Mass Effect: Andromeda: Despite being terrified that it's going to turn out to be closer to Dragon Age: Inquisition than Mass Effect 2 or *I guess* 3, I can't help but remain positive towards one of my all time favorite series. Probably going to be disappointed in some way though.
3. Nioh: Ninja Souls? Yes please!
4. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild: Don't really care much at all for "open world" games, but this looks like it has potential. If nothing else, it looks nice.
5. Divinity: Original Sin 2: Loved the first game, and the sequel looks to be better in almost every possible way.
6. Dragon Quest XI: Technically only "officially" announced for Japan next year, but it might be out in the US by December 2017.
7. Ni No Kuni 2: Enjoyed the first one quite a bit, although it had a lot of problems regarding combat. Hitboxes causing characters and monsters to get in the way of movement. Eventually it just became too easy as well. Regardless, it had a gorgeous world and the sequel seems like it might be aiming towards a darker approach, which is nice.

Having to use colons after titles that already have colons in them is very ugly formatting BTW.

1. Horizon: Zero Dawn: A new IP that looks gorgeous and has an interesting world and premise? I am sold.

2. Mass Effect: Andromeda: Before the gameplay reveal at TGA 2016, I was lukewarm to the game. After the game was properly shown off, I am properly hyped for this game. Also doesn't hurt that Mass Effect 1 was one of my favorite games of all time and that this game is following the same premise as Mass Effect 1 in terms of focusing on exploration 1st.

3. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Nintendo Switch): The Wii U version looks bad, at least in terms of performance. After the little bit that was shown off on Jimmy Fallon's show, I am looking forward to review outlets' thoughts on the Switch version of this game. It looks gorgeous and is a proper open-world game, a first for the TLOZ series. Can't wait.
 
1. Crackdown 3: As someone who absolutely adored the first 2 games, this was a no brainer for me. I wanted this game desperately BEFORE the destruction demo. The destruction is just the gravy on top of the orb hunting main meal.

2. Horizon Zero Dawn: This game just looks great. So great. As a giant fan of the new Tomb Raider games, this looks like an evolution of those games with the RPG elements cranked up a few notches and of course Robot Dinosaurs!

3. The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild: Its the new mainline Zelda game. When they release you relinquish your wallet. Not complicated.

CDPR never even gave a date for Cyberpunk. That game shouldn't be in this list.
 
1. Horizon Zero Dawn : I love everything that I've seen about it so far.
2. Zelda Breath of the Wild: Same as number 1.
3. Red Dead Redemption 2: No explanation needed. Probably buying a Scorpio just for the best version.
5. Nier Automata : Badly need a good Platinum game.
5. Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice: I'm actually a fan of Ninja Theory. Yes, they exist.

There are a ton of a other announced games that I don't expect to release in 2017, or even 2018. These are just my most anticipated titles that I expect to release in 2017.

So far it's a very quiet list for my Xbox One.

Can't think of anything else I'm actively excited for off the top of my head. There are others that have my eye, of course, I'm just not getting hyped. Will be interested to see which games picked here will actually live up to the hype(they rarely do), but I feel pretty safe about this list.
 
1. Persona 5 : Persona 4 is one of my favorite games so the sequel has to be 1
2. Red Dead Redemption 2 : So glad this got this announced. RDR was so good.
3. Mass Effect: Andromeda : I'm not sure about the trailers but given the past history of the series I am still looking forward to it.
4. Horizon: Zero Dawn : The most interesting new IP of 2016 and I am looking forward to seeing how this looks on ps4 pro.
5. Resident Evil 7 : First person is a direction for the series that I think will work well.
6. Prey : Wolfenstein and Doom have been great Bethesda FPS in recent years, I am looking forward to this.

8. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
9. Injustice 2
10: Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy

  9. Sonic Mania: Eagerly anticipating this. Been craving a Sonic nostalgia trip for a bit.

1: Persona 5. Reasoning: I've been dodging spoilers for so long.... I and alotta people have been waiting for so long! Let's go, Persona 5! I bet this game will be magical!

2: Zelda. Reasoning: Do I even need to say anything?

3: Andromeda. Reasoning: I need my giant space opera!!!!!!!!!!
 
1. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

This is easily my most anticipated title because of the sheer amount of smart design that I've observed in the game. It's going to be polished, immensely creative, somewhat demanding and simply a joy to play.

2. Persona 5

Persona has always been in a position of excitement for me. Much like Zelda, I feel like I can reliably get a satisfying experience all around that's both stylish and slick.

3. Ni-Oh

I'm a huge fan of Ninja Gaiden and Ni-Oh seems to be a true return to form for the developer that also manages to appeal to skilled veterans of the Souls series thanks to the introduction of Twillight Challenges. It seems like a game where high level play looks substantially different from low level play and is demanding and tense to the end.

4. Nier Automata

I'm a fan of Yoko Taro's works. His scenarios are bizarre yet empathetic. He tells what I would truly describe as "dark" stories. Stories which take their themes and run with them to their logical conclusion, opposition be damned. I'm also a fan of Platinum games which take the action game beat em up in 3D to their logical conclusion. I'm still concerned about how RPG stats will affect the combat, but even still, you can tell there's something wonderful brewing when you put both of these groups together.

5. Horizon: Zero Dawn

Silly name aside, I really feel that Guerrilla Games has got something legitimately interesting on their hands. The ropecaster is quite a creative weapon that really takes advantage of technology to make gameplay that much more interesting. Combine that with some pretty interesting enemy design and some punchy movement and combat and you've got something pretty interesting to look forward to.
 
1. Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue: I can never resist a new Kingdom Hearts. And anyway, more Aqua is always good.
2. Tekken 7: My favourite figting series of all time. This one has epic written all over it.
3. Horizon Zero Dawn: Robo. Dinosaurs.........and this time it won't get delayed.
4. Nier Automata: Another definitely twisted tale from Yoko Taro. With gameplay from Platinum. This is the stuff of dreams.
5. Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age: The best version of FFXII now in 4K and remastered. How can anyone not put this in their list if their a Final Fantasy Fan. I just came off of World of FF and Final Fantasy XV so i'm still in FF mode. XD
6. Gravity Rush 2: I absolutely loved the first one so definitely in for more Kat. Pity about no Vita though.
7. The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild: I'm gonna be honest I've only ever played the first Zelda Game but I am absolutely loving this one's feel. Definitely gonna get a Switch as my First Nintendo Console since the NES and play this one.
8. Tales of Berseria: The yearly Tales game. I've never not liked a Tales games, even the widely hated Legendia, so there will probably never be a time when Tales isn't one of my most anticipated games.
9. Dragon Quest XI: I only ever liked VIII, but what little snippet of the game they showed makes me quite interested to get back in the series.
10. Yooka-Laylee: My platformer fix. Other than GOTG Knack 2 of course.....

Honourable mentions:
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy: My childhood
Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5: Didn't buy 2.5 because I was waiting for this.
Shenmue III: Dreams.
Final Fantasy VII Remake: If this was even slightly confirmed for 2017, it would be 1 on my list.
Red Dead Redemption 2: The better GTA game gets a sequel. :P
Dissidia Final Fantasy: I have a feeling this will be 2017 but since no mention yet I'll keep it off the list.
Kingdom Hearts III: I still think it's 2017............................
