Jasmin - Youtube client

I'll stick with jasmine for now

Guys seriously, try McTube!

Free version has a tiny banner, pro version is $2.

-supports iPhone 5 and retina iPad
-better layout, less tapping
-on the fly video quality switching, or set your quality preference.
-will play YouTube audio from the dock, will display the video title there, and you can even set the client to automatically play audio when you switch apps.
-cache videos locally for offline play.

Just plain better than Jasmine, promise.

The new Gmail app doesn't have swiping for archiving/tagging like Sparrow or a unified inbox does it? Sparrow still better :'(

Jasmine is good. I've been using YouPlayer for a few weeks on iPad and it's more than serviceable. Happy the iPhone app finally got updated.

McTube is indeed the best non-Jailbreak YouTube. I can't imagine that cache feature will stick around so maybe pounce while you can if you're interested in that.

I orginally had about 4 emails all pour into my one gmail account, i'd then use the app on my iphone. I've since redistributed all my emails to separate accounts because the gmail app is a piece of shit on my 4. Went back to the OS mail, works so much better for me.

Trying out now.

2do is still probably the best be all calendar/reminder/events/ app thing.

Sure, it ain't super elegant or 'fun', but the amount of options available for every small detail is staggering.

Been using it for a few years and I've yet to find a situation in which I can't set up an event or w/e that matches the parameters i need.

It is a bit pricy though, but it works great.

fantastical looks pretty dope though, $2... will give it a shot.

camera app of choice atm is still procamera. Does video and camera quite well in 1 app... and it has qr code scanner, just cause!

Wow I must have literally uninstalled gmail minutes before they issued the update. The new app is quite good actually and I can finally add multiple accounts.

Super slick too

I ended up getting Fantastical and... regret it.
I need to see a month overview and to be able to see all the events of (at least) a week in the same screen. That's something the current version of Fantastical doesn't allow (even though the desktop version does).
Plus, I didn't found the natural language input method that useful in iOS, and the "old" way of entering data/events is not much different from the stock calendar app.

Calvetica is still my go to calendar app. It's amazingly well thought and recommend it to everyone.

I had to revert back to the stock mail app after using gmail for the past two days. Here are my gripes:

- Scrolling speed and acceleration are definitely NOT native and feel really out of place. Maybe they're using Android's scrolling/acceleration? Either way, it's jarring.
- It doesn't stay in memory like the stock app. That's not in their control, but it is a huge advantage for the stock app, which always starts up instantly.
- No double tap to zoom. Pinching works, but the majority of my phone use is with one hand.
- Tapping on emails seem to take longer than it should to register. Anyone else notice this? It seems like there's a slight half second delay between your tap and the app actually registering that tap. It's not instant like it should be when I tap on an email. It makes the app feel slow.

- The thin gray fonts, especially the subject preview, are comparatively hard to read. It's not as apparent on screenshots compared to actually seeing it on a small display that's more than a foot away from my face.

- Zoomed in text look terrible.

- It doesn't seem to identify phone numbers and addresses. You can also see the consequences of limiting the width of the email message, thanks to their liberal using of padding. The text here is again harder to read.

I think I'm just going to keep the app tucked away whenever I need to search for an email. Searching in the stock app still sucks for some reason.

Does TTPlayer allow you to enter the URL of a video? Like how in FileBrowser you can copy a local location link of something like that. Or anyone know of a player that does allow that?

Can someone recommend a Twitter app that will announce when people I am following tweet something? Sort of like how Facebook alerts you to replies on your status updates. I tried TweetCaster but it doesn't seem to support this.

Yeah, Giga, it's certainly improved but still has a host of issues. The message padding on the sides really makes no damn sense. Hopefully, the Sparrow team will introduce improvements to the iOS mail app as they get settled in.

One thing I've noticed is that battery life seems improved with Gmail not being on Exchange. This is just based on one cycle - so take it with a grain of salt, but I'm seeing about 1-1.5 more hours on 100% charge.

Got the list done, I think. Five pages on Word, not much, but I tried to get everyone's suggestions in that's general enough.
