Yep, agreed, I even prefer it over it's sequel Batman Return of the Joker...which is cheap in spots(like 3-1 and 5-1).
I've never played the sequel. Is it still decent?

It's alright but it's even shorter than the 1st one!!!I've never played the sequel. Is it still decent?
Oh man that rockman collection looks great. Which one was the most expensive?
Anybody know of a good way to play NES games on an AV Famicom?
1 was ~$35 and 6 was ~$25, the others were around $15 each.
So my www.retrogamingcables.co.uk SNES SCART cables are stuck in Chicago's customs the last week: ISC CHICAGO IL (USPS).
I read online they can be stuck there for weeks/months and sometimes lost, lol. There is something "royally wrong" about Customs/USPS in Chicago from what I read. Great, lol. This has not turned out to be a good idea...should have had retro console accessories on ebay make me some since she's in USA.
Rockman 4 finally arrived this morning so my collection is now complete

Shit. I still have my copy of MM5 with a near-perfect box and manual.
So very tempted to sell it...hmm.
Congrats! I am missing 1 and 6, and I dont know if I'll find em for a decent price these days.![]()
Just bite the bullet and get them. Mega man games always hold their value and they're great value for money to boot.
I always tell people who are getting into SNES collecting to get Super Metroid, Turtles in Time and Zelda LttP. "But they're expensive..." - "Who cares? You'll enjoy those games for years and years." - and they always have.

It's the easiest one as well(unless you play MM2 on "Normal", but no sane gamer does that, lol).I only need Mega Man 6 to have them all. $45 to complete the MM NES collection suits me! Odd it never got a pal release

6 wasn't that bad!Mega Man 6 easy, really? I've always thought that 5 was the easiest, followed by 2. The first one is the hardest by far.
I didn't know you played it on easy.=p Normal sucks, it's Difficult or nothing for that game. I have no idea why Capcom added that when Rockman 2 didn't have difficulties.Oh snap. I started playing MM2 a couple nights ago and defeated 3 of the levels/bosses with ease and wondered - was it this easy as a kid? Guess you want me to utilize hard...
6 wasn't that bad!
Only reason people say 2 is easy because they choose normal, which is actually easy mode. I never choose normal for that game.
Yep, you're correct on that.Isn't the western "difficult" the standard japanese difficulty? Maybe they thought western gamers can't handle that.
For me it must be some kind of muscle memory, since alongside with Mario 1 and 3, Mega Man 2 was the game I played the most as a kid. Nowadays I have Rockman 2, but even that seems like it's not really that hard. (Metal blade OP)

A while back I asked for some finishable fun NES games recommendations for me to do playthoughs of for my channel but I've lost the post. So I'll ask again for suggestions. So far I've done Mario, Castlevania, Mega Man, Mario Lost Levels, Batman, Turtles... what would be fun to do next that won't be too tricky?
Fun fact: the version I have (Famicom) has lots of different music. I don't know if these tracks were lifted from the arcade version or why did they bother to rewrite some of them for western release.

Speaking of Argos no Senshi, I finally managed to beat Ligar with some heavy leveling in the last stage. No speedruns, but I was able to clear a game that I first played as a child so I'm happy. Always thought that it's a much better game than people say and definitely one that's still quite affordable.
Ninja Gaiden, Contra(both which I did no death runs), Bucky o Hare, Batman Return of the Joker.what would be fun to do next that won't be too tricky?
Are the enemies/bosses any different? Or is it just the music?
Well, you listed some of the hardest games on the system, so I don't think anything after that will be too tricky for you. But here's some of my favourites I usually recommend:
- Kirby's adventure
- Star Tropics
- Bucky O'Hare
- Journey to Silius
Ninja Gaiden, Contra(both which I did no death runs), Bucky o Hare, Batman Return of the Joker.
Journey to Silius if you can put up with only 3 continues!
Shatterhand.Timu you'll know the answer to this. Which is easier, Shatterhand or Journey to Silius?
Shatterhand is probably easier to no death though...Journey is nearly impossible to no death to due unavoidable enemies, and I don't plan to no death it either, hell even a 1CC is tough. It wouldn't surprise me if Raf World is easier than Journey due to being the Japanese version.Personally I would say Shatterhand is the harder one. The first couple stages of Silius / Raf World aren't too hard to begin with, plus even the later bosses have pretty set patterns and weak spots. Last couple of stages are very hard platforming, true, but I've always thought of Shatterhand/Solbrain as more .. "random" in its difficulty. Just my gut feeling.
We should put MM3 on an upcoming vote list, given the current price. Cheapest of the bunch and one of the best as well. I feel like MM2 wouldn't garner many votes. Great game but everyone has played it. MM3 maybe a little less so.
You can get 72-pin NES to 60-pin Famicom adapters on ebay. Just make sure you don't get the opposite.
UPDATE: Mailman called and said there was a loose dog right when he marked hte packages as delivered, so he ran away - lol, and will try again later today. Probably a true story as the neighbor has a German shepard, who is very defensive and scary, lol. I just find it hilarious that a dog scared the mailman away, it's true, they hate mail folk.
I bet that took months to do.=pJTS is actually the only game I can no death run almost every time now.
...I've played a lot of JTS.
I've basically played it since I was a kid, so try years.I bet that took months to do.=p
Then again I haven't played it as much since 2012 so things could be different.
Shit. I still have my copy of MM5 with a near-perfect box and manual.

Double Dragon 3 starts you with 1 life until you reach the 4th stage where you can use 1 continue after everyone dies in Stages 4 or 5. And stage 5 is tough. I did beat it without dying last year for a youtube playthrough, but it was a tough one to do due to stage 5.Ghosts'n Goblins
The Disney Capcom games
Battletoads
Double Dragon I and II and III
When we're talking about an unmodded Famicom AV hooked up to a 1080p set with a pretty nice scaler, what kind of loss in video quality can I expect compared to one with modded RGB? Is it little enough that most people don't notice or care? What are the key differences there?
Although I have no input on upscalers, but generally I would actually say based on my experience that for the NES/AV Famicom the RGB mod makes the biggest difference when you upgrade from composite. The jump in sharpness, vibrance, picture quality, it's astounding. It's definitely one that you'd notice the easiest compared to composite.
