If you ever cared about Mega Man 1 or 2, this translated interview with A.K. is ridiculously full of great facts about the development of both games. I had scoured the web for information on Mega Man 1 before when I was making my video and there was so little to go on. This blows it wide open! I'm happy that a lot of my assumptions were confirmed.
lol at them running out of space on the cart and copy Mega Man having the same AI as ElecMan. I knew the copy robot fired whenever he crossed one of three positions on the screen and jumped only when you push B, but hadn't made the ElecMan connection. Now I have to guts those blocks away and test it out. I could swear he jumps on his own, but we'll see.
Kitamura made the decisions on pretty much every aspect of the games, from character sprites to level design, music, and sound. Before he left Capcom he told the new director to keep the basic design, make a robot dog and create a prototype 000 robot, lol. Dude is taking credit for everything.
