:lol

It was pretty cool filling up my queue. I guess.
I use blockbuster, the free rental in store each week is really sweet.

I'm loving netflix. I haven't had any throttling problems at all yet. 46 movies seen and counting since the middle of March. :D

Currently watching: The Big Lebowski.

This shits all over traditional renting.

Just wait until your honeymoon is over. I think I'm gonna switch to Blockbuster.

4 in-store rentals a month + online rentals is too good to pass up.

Been on the grandfathered 'old plan' at BB.com for a year and a half. No throttling and I can rent two games a month. Picked up BFME2 today! Eff Netflix!

Two in-store game rentals or online? Because all the Blockbusters in my area have crap game selections.

Can someone explain throttling? Does it only occur with more popular movies, or everything? When Netflix received the last movie I returned, they notified me that the next on my cue would be arriving three days later, whereas all my movies prior to that came the very next day. Is this throttling? It was for a more obscure movie, too (Truffaut's Stolen Kisses).

Anyway, my month long free trial at 3 movies at a time is just coming to a close, with my last movies being Stolen Kisses (good), Old Boy (awesome), and Brazil (wtf?). I think I will definitely be paying for the $5.99, one movie at a time plan after this, as my experience has been good (and my local selection is just shit for more obscure movies). I'll still regularly rent from the local joints when I want to see something they have available on top of that, though.

In-store. I think you can switch between two game/movie rentals-a-month and 1 movie rental-a-week, anyway.

I'm seriously thinking about signing up for the $5.99 or $9.99 plans... I don't have time to watch enough to make the other plans worthwhile.

(What helps is that I've found that, providing I'm willing to exercise some patience, I can get most non-obscure stuff that I might want -- and a few obscurities as well -- using my college library and, at home, my public library's, inter-library loan systems. And it's free.

In-store. No complaints about the selection around here. They don't have everything but they have most stuff that I want to play. I'd rather have two free game rentals than four movie rentals. I don't think it's available any more, though.

They probably don't have Stolen Kisses in a near facility. Same thing happened to me with Truffaut's Two English Girls. It had to ship from New Mexico (I'm in New Jersey and the closest facility is 20 minutes away), and took longer than the other two films my family got. Although I haven't had a problem with Criterion films, which Stolen Kisses should be the version of.

I can't explaine the throttling things though.

The general theory is that if you're a high turn-around renter, your service will eventually get to the point where it will take longer to get your discs shipped to you. Some say this is to discourage such habits. I will say that will I initially signed up with Netflix (and it's been like 3 years) that my turn-around on shipping was real snappy, and eventually slowed to taking a day or so more than usual. At that time I usually rented a disc and had it out the next day. These days, I'll keep my discs for sometimes a week (or occasionally a month) at a time, so I can't say I've really noticed the throttling as much.

Can anyone provide details for this deal? I'm thinking about shooting BB a call and seeing if they'll be willing to extend the deal to me.

Only delay that happened to me was the last movie I saw. It was The Big Lebowski, a pretty popular film, and I got it from Duluth, Georgia. Took 3 days to get to me once I got the shipping notice.

I do the three movies at a time for $17.99 deal. I think it's well worth it.

Yeah, it's amazing - till they throttle you.

If you watch the movies as quickly as you get them and return them as quickly as you can - they will throttle you. If you take your sweet time getting the movies back to them, they won't throttle you.

I've never noticed the throttling issue, and I've been an 8, 5, and 3 at-a-time subscriber over the years. I'm close to canceling, not because of any problems I'm having with the service, but just because I tend to let my rented discs sit around for weeks on end without getting to them. It's not as cost-effective for me as it once was, but that's just due to my own schedule/laziness.

Netflix SUCKS

I signed up for their free trial, and I canceled it. and apparently they wereb charging me 20 dollars a month, and they did that for about 3 months and I didn't notice it on my credit card bill.

I tried to contact them, but they don't even have a phone number. Bunch of ****ers

When I first started it took about 3-4 days to get the next DVD, now it takes 7-8 days. That's throttling. :(

I still like Netflix though.
7-8 days? That's really abnormally long. Where do you live, Alaska?

I'm quite throttled and I get mine in 4 days, 5 max if a Sunday works in. There's somethin really wrong if it's taking you 7-8 days.

A postal worker was busted for stealing Netflix discs. Maybe somebody is futzing with your movies.

When I lived in Los Angeles the discs came ultra fast. Even now in Minneapolis, it's usually a 2-4 day turnaround.

I sent them early last week and today I got an email saying that they would arrive tomorrow. Right on time apparently.

"That's what she said."

i've been a 3 a week netflix user for almost 3 years and haven't been throttled yet. how many movies i week were ya'll watching.

I love Netflix. Even on months where I'm too busy to watch a lot of movies, I still think it's worth it. I hate having to waste time going to a video store.

If I were an early adopter of HD-DVD or Blu-ray I'd be extra happy since I wouldn't have to spend a fortune actually buying the discs.
