Netflix Inc., marking its first big move beyond TV shows and films, is planning an expansion into video games and has hired a former Electronic Arts Inc. and Facebook Inc. executive to lead the effort.

Netflix Inc., marking its first big move beyond TV shows and films, is planning an expansion into video games and has hired a former Electronic Arts Inc. and Facebook Inc. executive to lead the effort.

The company doesn’t currently plan to charge extra for the content, said the person, who asked not to be identified because the deliberations are private.

It will only work if it allows game sharing, since everyone who watches Netflix is using their friend's account.

Unless it provides a way for playing games that are locally stored, like gamepass does, I'm not seeing this as a game changer. Games via streaming are still pretty lack luster.

Who knows, maybe they'll start mailing out discs again.
