Netflix is prepping Godless, a limited period drama series from the Out of Sight duo of Steven Soderbergh and Scott Frank.
Written, directed and executive produced by Frank, Godless is a Western set in an 1800s New Mexico mining town. The project, which is currently casting, is set to film in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Soderbergh and Frank are executive producing alongside Casey Silver.
Frank earned an Oscar nomination for his feature adaptation of Elmore Leonards novel into the 1998 movie Out of Sight, which was directed by Soderbergh.
Soderbergh is executive producer/director of HBOs The Knick, whose second season recently ended. He also is slated to direct Hillbilly Heist with Michael Shannon and Channing Tatum set as leads. Its expected to start shooting in the fall. In addition, Soderbergh has movie Mosaic, starring Sharon Stone, set at HBO. Franks screenwriting credits include Minority Report, Get Shorty, The Wolverine and most recently A Walk Among The Tombstones, which he also directed.
