“There are only three girls in [Suicide Squad] but in my opinion they have the best roles,” she said in an interview with the U.K.'s Empire magazine.

“Generally though, superhero movies are totally sexist. Female superheroes are normally naked or in bikinis. No one would be able to fight like that. Wonder Woman, how the hell does she fight? She would be dead in a minute.”

So the magazine is out, and sure it will be broken up over time for various articles on different sites

But one cool nugget before the whole Batman v Superman thing, the original idea for a Man of Steel sequel would have seen Metallo be the main big bad.

And if they did indeed do a stinger, the original would have ended with a crate of the K being delivered to Wayne Manor

Lex/Metallo always made sense to me, especially as a way to bring Kryptonite into the story. But I guess he's not a flashy enough villain for taking on the whole trinity.

Ok, I see now! Everyone hating on Ben Affleck & Gal Gadot are like zombies. They're infected with a terrible, terrible virus and the only "CURE" is finally seeing the movie. Once they see it, they are finally "CURED" of this horrible, horrible virus...for a short time. When someone new gets cast for an upcoming superhero movie, they become infected again. They ravage everywhere killing innocent people. Brains splatter all across Twitter, Facebook, Yahoo, Reddit, and Neogaf. Anyway, not too long ago, Henry Cavill suffered this same fate when he was cast as Superman. To see a non-American flying in the skies, saving cats trapped on trees, it was really hard for people. But then, it happened. This is how it happened. This is how Zack Snyder died. After Man of Steel most people were "CURED" again, but only with Henry Cavill. Henry was fine for people. They accepted him with open arms. They treated him so good Warner Bros gave him a new movie, "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." As for Snyder and MOS it continues to suffer from critics, critics, critics, freshman critics, sophomore critics, junior critics, senior critics, critics from beyond the grave, critics that gave Birdman Best Picture when Boyhood took 12 damn years to make!
Anyway, as I continue Zack is back from the grave again trying to redeem himself to the c-W-r-O-i-R-t-L-i-D-c-s and it will be the hardest task he has ever done. Moving on from Zack, as you look in this thread, notice how the zombies are only attacking Ben & Gal while Henry is just smiling there like "haha old times." It's because he CURED these sick beasts. Henry is not off the hook yet. He needs to smile at least 10 times in BvS to keep them CURED. If he does that, they might build a real life statue of him. Now I am done!

Everything you read here is used with logic and passion. Enjoy my friends! Oh and don't forget to "clicker" your way out!

I've never been a big fan of a supermodel-ish Wonder Woman. She's a warrior. Physically she should be more than good looking.

No doubt. And I think that's partially why Reeve's Superman is still the go-to. I mean, there's a TON of other reasons (his performance, of course, the music, the quality of the first two films) but I think it's because he didn't look like some sort of HGH-fueled man-beast.

Like, this version of Superman, from Immonen's Secret Identity, looks perfect, to me.

That said, I'm a HUGE fan of how Cavill looks in his suit, and I think that suit is easily the best-looking of the live-action costumes.

Yeah, I've always been a fan of a Reeve-ish Superman.

He doesn't have to look chiselled from marble. When everything you left weighs a feather there's no reason to have muscles on muscles.

Having a bunch of guys like you judge an actress based on how much muscle tone she has to have to suit your image of what Wonder Woman should look like is bad for women.

Yeah, this doesn't make much sense to me. Actors know what they sign up for when they take on a superhero role. There is an expectation that they look the part. Gal Gadot doesn't have what many would consider the conventional body type suitable Wonder Woman.

Until she proves herself on the big screen, people will continue to criticise her apparent miscasting and lament that fact. It won't accomplish anything, but since when has that been a requirement for complaining on the internet?

That is some horrible looking photoshop for the cover pic, if i didn't know who she was i probably wouldn't recognize her..

Ok, am I the only one failing to understand what this means? If you didn't know who Wonder Woman was how would you recognize her in the first place?

I'm still worried about Gal Gadot and Jessie Eisenberg.

When I first saw that photo of Jessie I thought it was for another movie, like the new one that's coming out where he stars with the girl from Twilight.

It's too bad we haven't seen what the Batsuit will look like in the film and can just judge it by these terribly lit photos.

Worst movie of all time confirmed.

She had WRPG style female body armor on that didn't exactly give you the impression that she had a powerhouse figure.

Unless you are trying to say that it gave her the super strength, which I am pretty sure was not the case.

Faora was fucking awesome, I want her back.
she was a much better villain than Zod.

Terrio da gawd. Also, hey Cara, WW is imortal so she can stay as comfy as she wants. Can't disagree with her about other movies though.

Yeah, disappointed she said that about Wonder Woman especially since she's working on another dc film and yet is still showing that she doesn't understand the character. Wonder Woman is not as fragile as batman.

It'd be awesome if she were still alive and working for Lex Corp somehow. She'd make an awesome henchwoman for Lex, whether it be bound by honour, mind control or mutual interest in seeing Supes dead.

Sure but the point I was trying to make is regarding what level of expertise is achieved in those areas beyond the basic.

Why would you? I mean, this thread is about the cast of the justice league. One (Her), has military training (Basic or not), is a plus for a strong character. Mi point is, there is no need for a bulky WW . What the actress can offer to the character is good enough. At least she might know krav magra.. because of her basic training. She might be cast to play WW for the looks, but she has more to offer than her looks.

Not sure if it was brought up already but it looks like the script for Justice League Part One is actually done and was done by Chris Terrio.

Was happy to see him on BvS, but I'll wait until I see BvS before I judge this.

The hell? In what way she even remotely a better villain? She had no motivation other than serving her military general, no connection with the hero or barely any build up... that's some reach ... I like Faora a lot too but god damn, that reach, are you Mr Fantastic by any chance?

She had a presence and a captivating aura on screen. She felt dangerous. That's really all that matters. Villain's plot is rarely interesting.

Afflecks face is so big, and fat. I just... I just cannot bring myself to like it.

Gadot is too small. I don't think there is a cycle when it comes to this. People have their opinions about her, and others do not like it. Instead of discussing it, pictures of cycles, and massive bodybuilders come up as if thats what people are saying.

How slim and athletic is everyone in this thread if they think Ben Affleck looks fat? Dude looks huge as fuck. The dude is tall and big and that's what batman should look like. He's got the voice too, not the fake suit and voice that bale had.

Don't you know? Everyone on GAF has a BMI of -12, 14 Strength and 19 Charisma, 20" dicks and musculature like a rhinoceros.

The poster I was responding to argued that because Gal Gadot doesn't look exactly like his comic book character, she is "bad for women". What is actually bad for women is the stupidity of idiots who would unceasingly complain about a real woman's body for their fictional woman's image. If that makes no sense to you, well then

If you think "that's the way it is on the internet" is an excuse for not calling out hypocritical statements, good for you.

Its funny how in the comics batman walks around with a 3 foot jaw but the movie is deviating away from this incredibly important aspect of bruce waynes physicality. Shoulda got jon hamm

Zod was one of the most bland villains ever.

I'd argue he has a point. Let's be frank, we're not going to see a plus sized actress taking on the role of a significant superheroine as the lead any time soon. We're having trouble landing female-led movies in the mainstream, let alone female-led superhero movies. Wonder Woman is not only an iconic superheroine, she is one of the very few female characters that can, and in my opinion, should break the norm in terms of the archetypical superheroine body type. Wonder Woman is a very powerful woman physically and has a physique to back that up, which is why it's disappointing they went with yet another skinny model, so I agree it sends a bad message.

Not that it matters, but I'm not white, so there's that I guess. You're also really missing the point. It's not just an internet thing, it's a consumer thing. We like to complain, yes, but that doesn't mean those complaints aren't valid.

Save for a very tiny minority, the type of criticism against Gal Gadot's casting is not gender specific, and it's not personal, and she isn't alone in this.

How we look is fucking irrelevant. We aren't the ones busting the seams on the Batsuit. Affleck is.
