BC2 had the best destruction in the series. I loved driving a tank through a wall and leveling the building just to get rid of a single sniper.

To think, that game was on the PS3 and 360. The destruction aspect should have improved a lot since then.
 
I can't be bothered to install the EA app to try this.
BF has been bad for so long, it's impossible to get any hype for this.

To be fair, they made massive structural changes to the dev team for this upcoming game. You can't accuse them of lip service when they've fired people and reassigned hundreds of devs and added new teams.
 
I really hope they bring the classic theme back. That "music" or whatever it was in 2042 was fucking horrible. I need my hype bf theme back

I'm wondering if this will be available to the general public through signing up. I've been part of that EA playtest program for years so hopefully get an invite to try it out.

This is one of the only games I would actually put time into providing feedback on. After 5 and 2042, they need to get this right. The blueprints already exist for BC2 and BF3, just make a game similar to BF3 but with the absolute chaos and destruction of BC2.

It seems a bit early... Its been 3 years since the release of their last BF game. I really hoped they will take their time with next Battlefield
 
My favorite FPS since i was a kiddo, BF1942 made me love it.. but this is last chance for them, if not then fuck that franchise.

Early? It will be a 4 year gap this year, the biggest one between BF games. Its time for a new one
 
Better than nothing. I hope i get selected. I want to give them feedback and im a BF veteran, playing these games since the first one. I still remember playing the EOD vietnam mod with 250 ping on a 56k modem. Good times

Same. I remember my dad and I buying BF1942 the day of release, followed by all the expansions. Amazing franchise that seems to have lost its way a bit over the last few entries. Hoping I get selected for this too since I'm keen for this one to be good!

Dude I was SO hyped for another WW2 BF game and my excitement fell off a cliff when I saw that trailer. Thankfully they sort of fixed it but the game was still pretty underwhelming. No D-Day map or Eastern Front was a bummer and I believe they even had files in the game for T-34s and stuff.
 
2042 definitely improved over time, but this vibe and the footage here is giving me MUCH better feels than 2042 did the first time we saw it.

I hope it's just up and up. Don't mess this up!

To this day I still think about memorable moments I've had in 1942, Vietnam, 2, 3, 4, and 1.

Yeah but 'cmon the writing's on the wall for this one. Franchise at its lowest point over and they're basically starting from scratch (which is commendable to be fair). However them announcing all of this at such an early stage is quite telling. I'd be very surprised if this is out before 2026 as they're not just looking to 'stress test' network or performance features here, rather they're looking for feedback regarding basic mechanics and have the players basically tell them what Battlefield is lol.

People signing up now will literally be running around one map testing out all kinds of stupid prototype shit for who knows how long. But hey if that floats your boat then by all means.

It might very well end up being a Deadlock situation where it's a win-win for everyone but I err on the cynical side of things (in case you couldn't tell already hah).

Really depends on your perspective.

For me, yeah, BF:V started low, got better. Same with 2042. I think they saw and heard enough feedback from the BF community that they want to go all in to get it where it SHOULD be. Because after 1, they should've continued to be on the same level, if not higher, but they fumbled.

It's too much to tell ATM, it's still early. I'm hardly hyped or optimistic about games these days because of the amount of games that have been mishandled. But, I'm hoping they pull it off as the series deserves it IMO.

I think it's fair to be cynical, I get it. I'm just hoping they've learned their lesson, but I'm not allowing myself to have any expectations, lol.
