Those crazed, manic eyes.

God it's hideous.

I like the style for the new Scooby-Doo, but considering that's all we've seen, it's too early to tell if it's any good or not. The Wabbit poster looks interesting, could have potential.

But Tom and Jerry is guaranteed junk. Without 1. a big 1940's animation budget and 2. 1940's violence, the Tom and Jerry formula simply sucks.

While the original Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! series was awesome, its follow-ups have been extremely lame*. From the art style alone it's clear this is going to be no different.

*A Pup Named Scooby-Doo, however, is great as well

He honestly looks like he is trying to wean himself off Scooby-snacks, but just wants one last ride. Those soulless eyes.

Most shocking thing in this thread for me is the continued survival of Johnny Test.

Fuck me, that show was shitting up the schedules when I stopped watching Cartoon Network UK best part of a decade ago.

Also, every single show on that "returning shows" list is horrible.

Cartoon Network is a disgrace now.
Thank goodness for Boomerang.

Hope the New Bugs is more of a return to form. That Scooby art is ugly.

EDIT: Flapjack was way better than Gumball. How is the Steven Universe? I kinda liked the look of the show, is it any good?

I think Regular Show has surpassed Adventure Time.

Good to see Uncle Grandpa is going to continue. It's not my favorite show on Cartoon Network but I still enjoy it. Reminds me of Pee-Wee's Playhouse.

Poor Scooby. I never cared much for Scooby Doo, but I did enjoy Mystery Inc.

But more Adventure Time and Regular Show? That's the stuff.

They've been fucking up Tom and Jerry since Deitch took over in the 60's.

Even as a kid you knew they were the worst ones. That art style, blech. Compared to this;

I think it has to do with one being made for the silver screen versus one being made for the small screen.

While I admire what the artist did back then I can't abide the racist overtones in most toons back then.

Every show looks like Adventure Time and Regular Show. Those recycled art styles make the lineup look so monotonous and cheap. Fuck you Flash/Toonboom. YA BLEW IT!

Gene Deitch's Tom and Jerry shorts were theatrical as well.

Man...

They stopped Looney Tunes Show despite actually being pretty solid.

They FUCKING CANCELLED MYSTERY INC. FOR THIS?!!!

While the Tom And Jerry show looks rather cheap courtesy of the flash animation, at the every least it's the closest T&J has been thematically to the original shorts in a long, long time. A LOT of cartoon violence - punches in the face, ass kicking, and hard hits to the ground.

I mean, it could be this:

seth macfarlane?

It doesn't look good, but be fair. That design is more stylised that anything MacFarlane's put his name to recently.

Yeah, this just goes to prove to me that Tom and Jerry needs intricate and expensive animation to work properly. You can see they're at least attempting to recapture the spirit of the thing, but without the meticulous timing and draughtsmanship the whole thing falls flat.

I mean, it sure as hell beats the thing I saw a couple of years back that had whiteout flashes at every bit of physical contact (can't have the kiddies seeing cartoon violence in their Tom and Jerry, after all), but it just doesn't have anywhere near that fundamental level of impact.

Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends was great in that regard, although it definitely feels like the exception to the norm.
Yeah but it definitely wasn't sterile. It's like Tales and the ilk tries to recreate the style of the 40s cartoons but sucks all the real character out.

Sigh, I miss Looney Tunes Show already.

Kristen Wiig was perfect as Lola (until she made did the parody character in Despicable Me 2). Daffy was awesome. The only problem with it were the musical numbers.

Sucks about what they did to Mystery Inc too.

I think I officially hate that Tom & Jerry more than the old Filmation version.

YAY Looney Tunes still lives! Nice they have a replacement already after the sad cancellation of TLS which was amazing.

It looks like they're going for a similar look?

As for Scoob, if they get the Cow & Chicken and I Am Weasel folks on this, I'm sold. Those shows were godly. The creator was stuck doing that Yoo-hoo show and working with Sony Pictures Animation IIRC.

And apparently the last episode of TLS hasn't aired in US yet?

Why do people still bitch about this? Yes, it was a good show, yes I would like more of it, but it still got 52 episodes and a satisfying conclusion. That's a lot more than other shows get. Let it go.

I guess it's satisfying.

But it feels like they could go for one more season.

Watch Da Birdie

I buy cakes for myself on my birthday it's not weird lots of people do it I bet
Only thing I'm a bit annoyed by is how all of Cartoon Network's new shows (excluding the Warner Brothers stuff) basically seems to be aiming for the Adventure Time/Regular Show crowd. I mean those two shows are alright, but it seems every new show seems to be going for the same style of irreverent humor and such, basically I call it "stoner-lite", since they all seem like they're going for that crowd while still being accessible and inoffensive to Cartoon Network's target audience. I've never really watched it, but from the commercials Steven Universe feels like the unbearable height of these shows, as well as looking like the stereotypical "red-nose" tumblr stuff you see everywhere now.

I love Uncle Grandpa though, but it seems to be less "cool kid", and more "let's just have fun".

I miss shows like Dexter, Johnny Bravo, and Powerpuff Girls though, sure they had equally odd premises and were considered "pushing the envelope" I guess for the time they aired, but they seemed a bit more grounded and weren't as, well, "in your face" with how unique they were.

Did David Feiss redesign Scooby Doo here? Because he seriously has a Cow & Chicken look to him. Especially in the eyes and mouth.

[edit] I wasn't even the first to point this out...!
