New Bugs Bunny, Scooby-Doo and Tom and Jerry Coming to Cartoon Network

Every show looks like Adventure Time and Regular Show. Those recycled art styles make the lineup look so monotonous and cheap. Fuck you Flash/Toonboom. YA BLEW IT!

How does Adventure Time look anything like Steven Universe? How does Steven Universe look anything like Johnny Test? How does Johnny Test look anything like Gumball? This is insanity. And Flash/Toonboom have nothing to do with it? Adventure Time and Steven Universe are hand drawn on paper and scanned into computers to be cleaned up. Gumball is a combination of traditional animation, puppets, stop motion, and CGI. Jesus.

If you want to see shows that look the same look at Adventure Time and Bravest Warriors. Since, you know, they were actually designed by the same person. The only thing remotely similar in Regular Show to Adventure Time is noodle arms and legs with no clearly defined joints. Welcome to the 1930s.

You just can't achieve the same level of movement and character with sterile flash animation.

You are completely wrong? Seriously. Flash can do bullshit actionscript animation like Johnny Test, and it can do actual hand-drawn frame-by-frame animation. There is no reason on this planet that an animator can't open Flash and make beautiful fluid animation.

I won't disagree that Flash can be used to make some ugly, lazy animation. But I'm also not going to pretend that there aren't also cartoons animated in Flash that look amazing.

Also, every single show on that "returning shows" list is horrible.

Cartoon Network is a disgrace now.
Thank goodness for Boomerang.

SMDH, dissing Adventure Time, Regular Show, Steven Universe, and Gumball.

I will admit I don't have the slightest goddamn idea how GrojBand or whatever the fuck got a second season. Or how Johnny Test is still on the air.

Apparently the new Tom & Jerry show actually already aired in Canada on Teletoon: http://www.nickandmore.com/2014/02/...include-world-premiere-of-the-tom-jerry-show/

I also found a trailer for it, it looks terrible: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xmJ_qag4itY

There going to cancel anyone of these that I end up loving anyways :(

After Avengers earths mightiest heroes, scooby doo mystery inc, young justice season 2 invasion and Green lantern am afraid to love again :(

I like the look of Wabbit already, as well as Over the Garden Wall. Be Cool Scooby Doo looks neat to me. I can't wait to see how it animates. Tom and Jerry looks terrible.

While the Tom And Jerry show looks rather cheap courtesy of the flash animation, at the every least it's the closest T&J has been thematically to the original shorts in a long, long time. A LOT of cartoon violence - punches in the face, ass kicking, and hard hits to the ground.

I mean, it could be this:

Funnily enough, this might not even be the worst that Tom and Jerry has looked through out the years (but yeah, I do hate that cheap flash tweening). That honor would have to go to the limited animation and cost cutting production values of the Filmation version of Tom and Jerry from the early 80's. Filmation was doing low budget flash cartoons before flash was ever invented.

Man...

They stopped Looney Tunes Show despite actually being pretty solid.

They FUCKING CANCELLED MYSTERY INC. FOR THIS?!!!

It wasn't really cancelled. They had a story and they finished it. They did open door for more episodes within a different premises.

^I never said Flash couldn't be used well. It just isn't in those Tom and Jerry cartoons. Sorry.

Aaahh my bad, I thought you meant in general. Yeah although I like the designs from those cartoon the actual animation looks like everything that gives Flash animation a bad name :T

Damn it can't we let poor Tom and Jerry RIP? It was bad enough when they made a horrible movie, now they gotta revive it with this?

Even as a kid, I thought the movie was pretty weird. They have about 3 minutes of Tom & Jerry fighting in total, then the thing becomes an orphan musical. Strangely catchy songs though...

What amazese me more somehow is that they are making another damn Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon. Guess there is still an audience for that

Watch Da Birdie

I buy cakes for myself on my birthday it's not weird lots of people do it I bet
I actually sort of like the various Tom and Jerry Movies they put out sometimes, Tom and Jerry are friendly-enemies, but there's no talking, some decent musical numbers, and cameos from other MGM characters.

Wow, I am deeply interested in all of these. It's like my childhood has returned for a second go around.

Well counting Looney Tunes Show and Animaniacs, Whats New Scooby Doo, Mystery Inc, Zombie Island and various movies, the Tom and Jerry show that premiered two years ago and various movies like Tom and Jerry and the Wizard of Oz...

This would be... your fourth or fifth go around since 2003 (or 2005).

Ah, I actually liked that movie... I was too young to realize at the time that it wasn't "Tom and Jerry: The Movie" but was actually "Robin Finds Her Parents starring Tom and Jerry"... It had some decent music, though!

Typical. They stumble upon a Scooby formula in Mystery Inc. that actually works and then decide to piss it away and go with something fucked up.

This is Spectacular Spider-Man all over again.

Did Hasbro decide to fuck with the pony designs after striking gold with Friendship is Magic? No... no they did not. (Unless you count Equestria Girls.)

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
Those designs remind me of Seth McFarlane's work, only worse.

Look, I get that change should happen. There's been hundreds of Scooby Doo incarnations. But this is too much change all at once. It needs to be more nuanced like Mystery Inc.

The fuck is this

I'm hoping this is like Mystery Inc where the initial promo art looked a bit weird but the animation was fine

EDIT:
Holy fuck, kill it with fire!
BeCoolScoobyDoo_Gang.jpg

This looks like someone who's only exposure to scooby doo was joking in high school about how dumb the characters were got put in charge of the character designs. Serioudly, they look like someone who's prior knowledge was "Daphne is a ditz, Velma is a nerd, Shaggy is a stoner"

They claim its not a "meta" version of Scooby Doo, but the art really looks like they didn't get the memo

Meh, we'll see if its any good

EDIT 2: Mystery Inc made Fred's classic ascot look work because it had a great balance of deadpan background absurdity that rendered the entire thing slightly unreal.

I liked what Mysteries Inc. and The Looney Tunes Show were doing, made me sit up and pay attention to both franchises for the first time in years. Of course that was probably part of the problem, WB/CN don't want me to watch, they want kids, and both of those shows I feel never really appealed to kid sensibilities.

This new Scooby art looks like its from the animators of Regular show. Definitely looks like it's going the kiddy route. Oh well, an old fogey like me should just be happy every couple cycles a cartoon franchise I liked as a kid is re-imagined to my current tastes.

I mean, I think Mystery Inc ultimately proved by the middle of season 2 that there were some serious issues with the serial formula they were trying, but it was always earnest.

Wait they didn't cancel the Looney Toons Show did they? That show we great and I'm pretty sure it brought in a decent amount of viewers.

Edit: Well I guess it didn't get canceled it just ended. The creators only wanted to make 52 episodes. That's a shame.

What the hell at those Scooby-Doo character designs.

All the characters look terrible. I hate that it's catering to a lot of current character design trends.

Except that Spectacular Spider-Man was canceled for all the wrong reasons :(
