I originally posted this in a thread about The Looney Tunes Show, but I guess that it's more fitting here:

So there's a very short clip of this new Looney Tunes show called Wabbit that'll be more focused on slapstick humor in this Boomerang commercial. It's about 19 seconds in: https://www.dropbox.com/s/io0jzs7nrcbu04m/Boomerang2015Preview.avi?dl=0

It's just a few seconds, but that small bit already shows that the animation is a lot better than in The Looney Tunes Show. It's a lot more stretchy and smooth, while still not just relying on tweens to do so. It's the kind of stretchy animation where if you pause at the right moment it looks like this (which isn't a bad thing):

Not entirely sold on the style, but I'll have to see more of it to judge that. At they very least they didn't really change Bugs Bunny's design aside from him being drawn in a different style. Also I find it interesting that the style has changed a lot since the original teaser poster in the OP.

Also there's a clip of the new Scooby Doo show in there, but that has its own separate thread now.

Someone at work told me Young Justice was coming back for a season 3 eventually. Tell me it's true. Someone... please :(

While the Tom And Jerry show looks rather cheap courtesy of the flash animation, at the every least it's the closest T&J has been thematically to the original shorts in a long, long time. A LOT of cartoon violence - punches in the face, ass kicking, and hard hits to the ground.

I mean, it could be this:

I don't like how stiff they look, but that art style works really well. I love when people make sparing use of black contours. For an obviously low-budget show, it looks like it could be good.

Poor kids :( Hopefully Youtube teaches them the right path.

Even when I was little in the 90s I realised the new Tom & Jerrys of my era sucked compared to the classics.

I love these designs.

What the mother of fuck is this shit.

Mistery Inc was done by people who understanded the old show and you knew their appreciation for it, and they elevated it to new heights anc created a damn good animated series.

This piece of trash seems to be done by people who only know scooby doo for "hur dur, scooby snacks, shaggy is a stoner, hur dur the group running through corridors with hippie music in the background"
The designs are garbage. It looks like some webcomic shit.

Tom & Jerry Kids was just about the worst thing ever.

Well, maybe besides that god-awful 70's Tom & Jerry show where they had to be nice to each other and shit. Because fuck that noise.

I just wish they'd keep releasing the restored classic Tom and Jerry on bluray. They stopped after one volume.

No idea about that 70s show, but the Kids show was so bad. The film was strange as well, fully voiced Tom and Jerry. Wut.

Wow I didn't know they even had any on Blu-Ray. Is it a good restoration? Clean picture?

Ugh, just read some opions of the test footage (its erased from youtube already) and they all say its horrible and its only a bunch of long gags with Seth McFarlane type of humour.

I hate to be already so right by only seeing character designs:

I feel like with Mystery Inc. and The Looney Tunes Show, they finally found new directions for both series that really worked. We're the ratings that bad that they felt a reboot was necessary?

I don't even understand why they keep bringing back Tom and Jerry.

Watching some new Tom and jerry footage, they seem to have the heart on their right place, but T&J needs seriously good animation for the slapstick to work and it all crumbles because its cheaply and stiff flash type animation. Even the character designs aren't bad at all.

Why does bugs look like he was carved out of a block of wood

I couldn't give a shit about Scooby Doo or whatever reheated H-B crud they've got going on, but this:

The hilarious, heroic and mischievous Bugs Bunny you love is back

So they've bought Avery, Freleng, Jones & Blanc back from the dead then?

No, I didn't think so.

Man The Looney Tunes Show & Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated was cancelled for this this rubbish - them show were so good :(

though wabbit look just like the looney tunes show

I have a theory that its in Cartoon network's contract that they have to have a tom and jerry show on the air as long as the network exist's.

It sounds like Wabbit isn't going to be much like The Looney Tunes Show though. Apparently they're trying to make the humor more like the classic shorts, unlike The Looney Tunes Show which tried to be more like a sitcom.

Mystery Incorporated was not cancelled.
It was always planned as a 2 season and done series from the initial pitch.

CN just completely screwed it over when it came to actually scheduling and airing it.

Don't know about Mystery Inc, but ratings for The Looney Tunes Show were really good actually, it's just that the show was always intended to last 52 episodes (which it did over the course of two seasons). In that sense I imagine the biggest purpose of the show was to bring the LTs to a modern young audience.

EDIT: Just saw the previous post, interesting WB had the exact same approach for that show as well. Least it got an ending.

I haven't seen any video from the new Scooby-Doo cartoon, so i can't really judge. I only know that, people can be unfair to some shows because of an art style. People still dismiss Teen Titans Go chibi style and comedy route for "replacing" Young Justice. And I'm pretty sure much of the hatred for this Scooby Doo is because of "replacing" Mystery Incorporated, even though MY ended full realized.

I do rather wait and watch the new show before judging it. I still remember the shitstorm Transformers Animated got for it's artstyle before people actually watched it and realized they got a top tier Transformers show.

Not a fan of that Scooby Doo redesign, but I'm digging that Bugs Bunny art a whole lot! Hopefully these shows are enjoyable. The last Scooby Doo show was great so I have a tiny bit of faith.

Tom and Jerry reruns did very well on Cartoon Network for years. That's why there were new direct-to-DVD Tom and Jerry movies every year back to back for like a decade.

Edit: I just checked and apparently they're still being made; the last one was released last year.
