Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.
Someday I want to see an alternate story where Kakarot never hit his head and became Goku. Would be interesting if he still ended up as a good guy. Maybe Raditz could be more important in that universe, as well (Goku's brother being a throwaway villain was a crime).

The guy who looked just like him in the movie was basically a stand in for him, it was suppose to represent what Goku would have been if he had stayed evil. Hence why it looked like him.

That was just an allusion to a what-if story, though. Goku was still there, and Turles didn't grow up on Earth. He was just "evil Goku", which is a pretty shallow representation of what Kakarot might have been (although knowing Toriyama, he might have given us exactly the same thing).

Like, would Kakarot have actually conquered the earth? Would he have refused anyway - is he naturally a good guy, even if he was more violent originally? What would have happened with Freeza/Vegeta/Raditz? These burning questions, man.

So basically Goku has this huuuge character flaw, is not a good model for the audience, and still has not changed at the end of the manga. Why do people like him??

Because we watched Dragon Ball and he was bad ass and funny in that.

Gohan on the other hand is ready to fight all the time, but then bitches out in the Cell Games letting his father die. I thought he loved fighting? Isn't that why he always snuck away from his mom? The Yamcha of Saiyans everyone.

Even if you don't like Goku he really isn't the same as he was when the manga started and you can definitely see how much he has changed unless you just look at the stuff Toei made up.

Based on everything we've seen Goku would've just straight up killed everyone by the time he reached adulthood.

it'd be interesting how the originally evil Kakarrot would have powered up since a lot of Goku's journey depended heavily in looking for the Dragon Balls. an evil Kakarrot would have killed Bulma before she explained all the stuff to him.

also, this would have completely prevented the revival of King Piccolo.

earth would have been fucked anyway since Raditz would have shown up anyway.

also, if Goku stayed in the woods, the Red Ribbon would be ruling the planet when Raditz comes. it'd be a pretty funny way to get them destroyed.

Goku has always been a gullible hick that lived inside the woods alone when his "grandpa" died ever since he was young. Considering all this and he didn't know the difference between girls and boys until he was at least 10 (or whatever age he thought he was at the beginning of Dragon Ball) .

It makes sense that he doesn't have the greatest sense of the consequences and just wants to meet strong fighters and fight. Unlike Vegeta though he doesn't hold grudges and tends to forgive anybody despite the crap most of the villains put him through, so he does have a lot of redeemable qualities.

It's just he has terrible priorities and never thinks about the long-term consequences of his actions.

But in the Saiyaman saga Chi-Chi says they live off Goku's money, and that they were running low so Gohan should enter the tournament.

I really fucking hate how they changed Yamcha's design, especially the eyes. He had a very specific style of eyes during Dragon Ball, but he became more and more generic-looking in Dragon Ball Z.

DBZ is the show where all the side characters are better than the "main" hero. Same applies to Bleach and other recent shounen manga/anime.

So not only is Goku a bad parent, but he's also a person who doesn't care about fighting for Justice? Then why did he let frieza go before he blasted him? It all built up to the ultimate good fighting against the ultimate evil, and now we're supposed to say that goku's just some dumbass who fights and eats and doesn't even care about what he's fighting for?

Mann...toriyama be smoking some weed bro, or getting senile. That's like him saying that crazy talk like Goku after Z would still get his ass kicked by frieza from the namek saga without super saiyan. Most of the time he just contradicts his own words, i've taken to just ignoring what he says cause he didn't think too hard on it himself obviously

Saying he mostly only cares about fighting doesn't turn him into a cold blooded killer. Why would someone that mostly just wants to challenge himself with tougher and tougher opponents care about killing an opponent he already beat?

After he was satisfied about winning fair and square, the side of him that only cares about fighting didn't matter anymore, and the decision making from there doesn't have anything to do with wanting to win.

It was clearly hinted at even in the original DB series. It doesn't make him a bad guy, just not entirely good.

First they were living off the Ox King's fortune but Mr. Satan has been giving them money ever seen the Buu saga (Don't know if the Cell one too) as a gesture of good will. This is mentioned in the OVA special. Still, Goku and Chi Chi prefer to earn their own money, so they have a radish farm.

You know who's nobody's favorite? Goten.

Is there a Goten fanbase at all?

I like Goten, he's the best Goku son.

There could've been in GT. One major fuck up in that series was not using Goten.

Seriously.

I think it says a lot that, in Heroes, even GT Trunks got a SSJ3 form, but Goten didn't get shit in the way of anything new. He's just there for the Gotenks fusion.

I love Goten. Compare him to Gohan at the same age and he's a more interesting character.

Teen or adult Goten has so much potential. Too bad we only see him older at the end of Z and GT threw his character to the side.

That was Future Trunks. GT Trunks is a scrub.

It's probably because Trunks was part of the main cast for the first story arc.

All that build up to unlocking his hidden power didn't amount to shit in the end. That same power that almost took out Raditz and Freeza when he was a kid. What a waste.
It did, though. We finally get to see his potential unleashed when he fights Buu. He just got cocky and got absorbed. He's still the strongest unfused character in the series.

That, and I think that Trunks, in general, is just more popular, so he'd be first in line.

For example, the 2004 Kanzenban had Trunks as the fourth most popular character, while Goten placed at number 6. And this was before some of the more recent stuff they've done involving Broly and Bardock, so I can only guess that doesn't bode well for poor Pan or Goten to get any love any time soon.

dragon ball heroes. everyone gets to be a super saiyan 3.

except gohan.

Well, Future Gohan got one. Granted, that's Future Gohan, but...

I can't wait to read how everyone gets jobbed this time.

Unless Toriyama finally wrote something interesting again, but I doubt it.

He put up a fight before Super Buu absorbed Gotenks and Piccollo but after that it was all over. It's like he wasn't even in his mystic form anymore and he went back to getting his ass kicked.

It's funny how weak Future Gohan was, without Goku, Piccolo, or even Vegeta to show him how to properly train he really sucked on his own.

Never knew I wanted this until you said it, would definitely be interesting.
