New Driveclub gameplay

Has Evo ever said why they implemented the 3 second timer? They award drivers for staying on the road right surely.

I would think it's to keep that arcade feel to the game. Avoid that sim racer moment where you take a corner to wide and spin off the track, then reverse back onto the track and accelerate from zero, while every other car overtakes you and disappears off into the distance.

when is this out in the US?

I have to order a 2TB HDD for my PS4 before hording digital downloads

please add me if you are going to be playing this game PSN = nazaire73

I count it at around one and a half seconds after going off tarmac.

Now... I'm not saying the graphic couldn't be smaller or that it isn't annoying in present state (the previous UI had a nice timer) but you'd rather get going quicker than have to wait for a longer period, should you actually need to be reset to track.

I'd rather have a 'reset to track' button than that timer, it's horrid and I'm going to have to see it so much :(

I think that's your fault.. In an online race anyway. If you make the mistake, you suffer the consequences.. They save rewind for single player.

When I'm online, I realize that I'm going up against other people so I don't get as carried away as I do during single player races.. Even then, the only current gen console racing game I own at the moment is Forza 5 and single player they give you 2 or 3 laps depending on the track... Online, it's just a demo derby the few times I played it. So hopefully this is not the same.

I saw this car on the road two weeks ago and i must say it is one hell of a car there is something different about it and i see a lot of super cars everyday but this BMW has some sort of grace and presence that makes it a really special car i really hope EVO or PD going to add it in the future to their games.

My friend took me for a spin in this last Sunday, its one hellava car like you said, on board electronics is like something out of tron, and hes damn lucky to be able to get one as its like gold dust.

I'm about to pick up my 4series today and I'm already over it after sitting in his i8 :(

Not saying it's not but I'm guessing that's the reason why. Motorstorm did something similar if your car was destroyed or you went too far off the track or off a cliff.

I'd rather have that.

This too. I love, LOVE messing around off the track.

Is the structure of the game known yet? The content (stages and cars) is solid, but I am wondering about the career details and the activities/modes one can do and play here.

Welp. So it's not replay footage. They've managed to make the final build gameplay visually match every single trailer!

Goodbye jaggy powerlines?

It would make game impossible to play without implementing heavy rubber-band AI.

As to the sightseeing, game has photomode thats crazy good.

For me personally, if you go off track, that's your problem - just like GT. You'd still get the 'press XYZ button to return to track' option.

Its just my preference. I like games to have a tolerance for messing around - at least in the single player.

Really need to try the driving in this before I get too excited. It looks too far towards arcade for me, but everyone seems to be raving about the driving, so I'll be trying it out for sure when it releases.

I believe it's a mash up of sim and arcade. I've not tried it either.

I made 2 versions as well (first 1 is old)

Thought I'll capture the cockpit view separately at higher resolution

Nice, they managed to get that final round of AA in the game?
Wow, game will look clean as hell in motion.

Yeah it's blowing my mind. We've been sitting on target gameplay footage all along. Gameplay and trailers are virtually identical now.

Delicious!

Guys? Is that the best skin shader in a console game? I haven't seen hands that look that photo realistic even in an FPS O.O

EDIT: Hmmm… TLOU:R had some crazy photo realistic hands IIRC

What a coincidence! Am planning to buy the 4 series too early next year I was even checking it out online few a hours ago.
Also you are lucky to get a ride on the i8 the car is so rare and already sold out till the end of 2015.
Enjoy the car bro I might contact you here in gaf when it's my turn to buy one :)

It is a shame we have not had many impressions from gaffers who have had the chance of playing the latest versions of this game. There are tidbits here and there, but nothing meaty as far as I could tell...

That specific .gif of the in-car view is probably not from gameplay; my guess would be it's part of the intro or similar, since it seems to be connected to the other replay-like segments as shown below:

Still, nice looking game, that's for damn sure.
