New Driveclub gameplay

Games are developed on PC. From my little time spend in cryengine I know you can choose a platform target to render to. So if am not wrong in saying when it's downsampled it would be rendered on the PC via the game engine rather than on a devkit PS4?
CryEngine is a multiplatform engine. PS4 specific engines do not have a need for PC as a compile target.
(For what purpose would you effectively do multiplatform development when you don't target anything but PS4?)

If they want to downsample it they would still use the PS4. It just wouldn't run at 30 FPS in real time.

How is it possible to downscale Driveclub? I don't get it. I mean, I understand the process of playing a PC game at a higher resolution but displaying it at a lower one to eliminate jaggies but on a console? How is that physically possible? Did the devs make these videos?
For the b-roll movie, once you have a replay file you can render each picture, one by one, at any resolution you want to downsample from. Rendering one picture a minute or even more is not a problem as long as you'll finally run them at 30fps in a movie. Same principle as CG movies, you just don't have to render it real time.

Anyway I think the game will really be close to what we saw so I'm not convinced it's downsampled.

Not really on topic so apologies, but in the absence of an OT I don't know where to put this and I'm assuming the people posting here know the most about the game so are most likely to be able to help.

It's come to my attention that we in the UK are getting the game last (3 days after the US and 2 after mainland EU), this means that my chances of grabbing the name we want for our GAF club are massively reduced.

Does anyone know how 'ownership' of a club works, if someone else in my club grabbed the name right off, could they transfer ownership or share admin rights or similar when I eventually get my hands on the game?

Download the PS+ version and do it earlier?

You are better off asking here:

The app should be live along with the US date, so unless they only put it live in the regions the game is released in then you can make a club in that.

PS+ coming alongside individual release dates not at same time according to Rushy tweet.

That's not clear for me either, and I'm also worried a bit that the fantastic club name we've came with may have been taken already...
My hope is that people getting the game early won't be able to mess too much with this, and that I'll be able to lock the club name by using the My DRIVECLUB app as soon as it's available.

Did not know an app for Driveclub was even a thing so thankyou for easing my concerns somewhat.
Unless they only release it on iOS like the feckin' GT6 one...

Is there a release date for the app do you know?

Oh right thanks for that thought it would be done on PC because frame-rate would be pants.

Got my answer.

Could someone explain the difference between the game on disc (£50 on Amazon currently), and the PS+ Upgrade Edition for £35? Is there a difference? Normally PSN prices are the other way around, or is it discounted because you have to have a PSN subscription?

Cheers!

No difference just cheaper. :)

So yeah its discounted because you have PS plus.

I am pretty sure that's not true.

The powerlines were the main problem I think.

Well there was that, but the game just also wasn't that clear, sort of like KZ2, where it's native res but it doesn't have that crystal clear image quality.

If those videos are from real non-downsampled gameplay, though...oh my goodness we are in for such a treat.

No I mean I dont think the game ever had bad image quality.

btw this part is not "real" gameplay.
In game you don't see back of your car in the mirror
