Holy shit I've missed so much. Was never really concerned about this game as EVO never failed me on the Ps3 but didn't expect these kind of visuals. Preorder paid off and my body is ready. Destiny and Middle Earth to hold me out until next Tuesday.

The videos are outstanding quality. The HUD, in particular, shouldn't show any aliasing. Try a different monitor or computer/device.

The night time racing looks so good. I used to marvel at night time racing in GT5/GT6, but DriveClub is in a whole different league.

I honestly feel you think the game gfx inconstant because of the lighting .
For eg on the desert track mid day just looks bland and dry but if was after noon the lighting would be warmer which would have the environment looking better .

Man that sunset Canada vid is beautiful, I may not be a racer guy but every once in a blue moon I'll pick one up. Dc Is definitely that racer for me. I'm gonna enjoy driving during sunrise and sunset. I really hope we get some city maps eventually, nyc would be awesome.

Realistic lighting equals flat. Over saturated high contrast lighting, not so much. Like you mentioned, he's always had a particular slant when discussing these two games. It is what it is.

Well to be honest, some scenes do in fact look kind of "flat".
But that's exactly how the real world sometimes looks.
Flat.
That's why the game looks so real, the lighting kind of captures every time of day in a way I've never seen before in a game.

If you emulate real life lighting, like they do, of course some times of the day will look better than others, like in real life actually.

Fact is the lighting in DC is unmatched in any game on any platform so it seems a bit strange to criticize it when nothing else comes close.

Some people who are complaining about IQ may be downloading the 540p version or something?

Watching it on a smaller player? Watching it on a poor quality player? Something like that.

The IQ is also dependent on your player, whether you are watching it @ native. Their work monitor like mine may be some horrible resolution and then trying to view a high resolution video at full screen and it will be off as the player decodes the video. Causing a loss in detail and artifacts.

Cant wait to watch when I get home.

Man watching these vids are kinda making me want to grip the seat I'm in as if I'm in a car with a reckless driver. The sense of speed.

Also I like when a hard light, the sun for example, move around the body of the car, it looks like the right amount of shiny which prevents the car from looking fake.

Eh, I do not like this marketing tactic at all. Driveclub isn't trying to be Forza. PS4 already has a "Forza-killer" in the known quantity that is Gran Turismo, and aside from that, Forza is an aspiring Gran Turismo killer, not the other way around. Ignore it, move on. It's a supreme looking game judging from those GSY videos and it's going to look mighty fine on my TV.

Not only that but the driving physics look great, even just on TT it looks to be a great ride.
