New Driveclub gameplay

Oh right, if you see someone derailing in here or other threads about the game (or any game really) and I don't see it right away... please send me a PM.
Thank you Kagari, finally we will have a DC thread without shit-posting, concerned trolling and useless remarks.

Is anyone picking up a racing wheel for next Tuesday? Which are the good ones and bad ones?

I have a Driving Force GT for the PS3 so if I buy a new one it'd be nice if it wasn't worse than my current wheel.

You can buy the Thrustmaster T80 (worse, no force feedback) for $100, the T100 for around $200-250, or the T300/T500 for $600.

Sadly there's no DFGT level wheel :(

Thanks for the info. Going to start looking for a T100. Buying a wheel with no force feedback seems like a crazy bad idea, may as well just hold the dual shock 4 in the air and enable tilt controls ;)

Also, what is everyone wanting for a new location?

Good old USA cityscape, anyone?
We seem to have mountains and agriculture covered... what else is there? Desertland maybe? Deep canyons, and caves?

Japan if they'll do proper toge-like courses. It'd be very frustrating on some level, but the racing tension would be extremely high.

What is meant by "routes"?

I just picked up the T100 for $150. I thought the price for the T300 was supposed to be $400 as well. Are you guys outside North America?

Nope, but then again the prices for those wheels have been all over the place for where I'm looking.

I was just going by the MSRP on Thrustmaster's site, for the T300 they have 369 pounds.

Edit: Do you mind telling me where you got the T100 for that price?

Finally, someone to bring order.
Lol wut!, where is this gif from?

I bought mine off Amazon two days ago and there were still something like ten left in stock. There is someone else trying to sell them for much more, but you can find retail prices if you search just for that wheel. Also, Target has it at $150. As for the T300, they released a statement a few weeks ago saying that it would be available in NA by the end of this month for $400. The UK pre-order just went up last week though, so I doubt that will happen. I've not heard good things about their customer service though, so I went with the least expensive FF wheel. Still hoping Logitech gets back into the game at some point. I will gladly give them $300-$400 without worry.

Yeah, I told myself I wouldn't buy another wheel since I bought a G27 last year with the intention of playing Driveclub with it (before I knew about the dropped support).

But I may just break down and buy a t100...

The worst part is that it doesn't seem like Thrustmaster even comes close to the reliability of Logitech. That said, there's no way I'm playing DC and P. Cars with a controller after I purchased a second TV meant purely for racing games.

I will wait for japanese car dlc before i buy a wheel

not happening but muh skylines, muh mazdas.

Then again my dad would probably want to play when he sees this so i still might buy one

Welp. Just snagged a T100 from an online place called B&H, 142 plus another 45 for shipping and customs clearance....should have it in 2-6 days. I have a feeling I'll regret this in the morning....but then again I should be able to get $150 for my G27, so with any luck I'll come close to breaking even.

If the T100 doesnt work with GT7, though, man I am fucking DONE!!!

Ha! Good to hear you got yourself a wheel though. Also, I just checked and I think we might be in the same club. I sent TheWorthyEdge a PM last week looking for a spot on a club and he said the one he's in might have an opening. Don't see my name on the roster yet, but on Saturday he said I was in.

...damm I would love to get a wheel for this game, but I can hear my wife now.. what that big fuk'n thing doing on our marble coffee table... then she would see me using it and laugh at me.. so controller it is. :P

I'm just using my office desk. Have a 32 inch Sammy TV and a reclining office chair for the F1 games I'll surely buy. Pretty sweet setup that doesn't take up much space.

Edit: Just realized what time it is. Night, GAF!

DLC manufacturers will include brands from around the world according to the team, so it seems Europe was the focus for the core launch and we may still get cars from other regions.

is there a replay mode? the one in horizon 2 is severely lacking.

As others have said, it's looking unlikely. I personally find it completely baffling if they don't.
It's like Evolution said: "hey guys...lets make the best looking racing game on any platform and not include replays!".

Why would you not want to show off your hard and beautiful work visually with no replays? Not only that, but replays can save precious memories from a particular race you've won/lost etc...

Ah well...I have the game pre-ordrered anyway in the hope they'll at least consider patching it in later if they don't have it now :/

Shit, I just realized I could simply hook my PS4 up to my computer monitor to race, and use my PC desk. BRILLIANCE

1 new location.

So I am guessing 5 of those tracks are for that.

My guess is out of those 11 tracks, 6 are for the new location, and then there is 1 new track each for the original 5 locations, adding up to 11. Which would make all locations have 6 tracks each (not including reverse/variations).

This is the first digital game I've pre-ordered.

Does it automatically download as soon as it become available? Does this game let you download it a day or so before it unlocks? How does that work.

You can set it to auto-download, and it will automatically download shortly before release. As I understand it's usually a few days before. Once the release date hits you can simply play.

My thoughts, exactly. And if the beans spilled during the PS4 and DriveClub reveal event are something you can trust, the new location will probably be Antigua (West Indies).

Just ordered the T100 from Amazon for £83.00 with free shipping. Selling my Force GT for £40.00. Yes, I'm also hopeful GT7 will support the T100!

T300 is £249 on both Amazon and Shopto for preorders. T100 is around £85

This is the only wheel worth buying.

The controller has a dedicated replay button :P
