New EGM scores (April issue)

Yeah, I'm not that concerned over games that got 9.5 and over averages!!

That Onimusha is the one that got to me. A 4.5 game?!! Homer no like. Worse than Final Fight Streetwise?!
 
Since we are complaining about special edition rereleases, does anybody find it ridonkulous that there is a fucking special edition(MGS:S LE) of a special edition (MGS:S)? And the super special edition is $40 practically eliminating the appeal of it being a budget release. IMO, DMC3:SE set the standard for rereleases with its $20 price point.
 
I know some of the EGM reviewers are good guys and individually their scores are good stuff, but as whole when you see all those scores together:

I really don't mind the special edition trends. If anything, it adds value to games that will be, ANYWAY, sold at the GH/PH price, so you end up with more value for the buck.

Clearly it is better to pay for such extras with micro-transactions over a broadband service. Screw the 80% of your userbase that could never access it.

Halo Marketplace, that sounds like a great idea! When fiberoptics and satellites provide internet service for Live users, anyway. Until then, a bit of the :lol is deserved.

Are you a PC gamer at all? This doesn't strike me as all that different from expansion packs which have been common in that market (yet not to the point of overwhelming the market) for years now. It's just additional content for the game, packaged with the original game. Are you saying you're against additional content for a game once the game is on the market?
 
EGM died years ago for me. That Tales score though, even I abit baffled. As long as ToL got 3's then I guess that would make sense.

Yes, I own the original which was the best launch title for the DS (I know, I know - that doesn't say much!). Great style, music, innovative gameplay, and a decent challenge to unlock everything. Easily the best Sonic Team game in years (I know, I know - that doesn't say much!)
 
What I want to know about Beatmania US is this...

Did this even come from Konami Japan? Did they just give it to Konami USA (Digital Studios or whatever) to do whatever they wanted?

I mean, it's Beatmania! They've had like 20 times to get it right, and they bring out just ONE in the US and it stinks and its broken and stuff.

um, i dont think you realize the ghost recon series has got some serious legs and a big following. iirc gr1 and 2 (and add-ons) were among the most played games on live for xbox.

Something like 7s/8s. It has a 7.67 average from EGM at gamerankings.com. I really like FSW too.

Anyone that scores a game that high on graphics alone should stop playing console games and sped their money on $600 videocards so they can look at 600% zoomed images and claim that so-and-so is driver cheating.

GR series has been one of the most played games on xbox live, before Halo 2 it was normal to see any GR game in the top of the list

Well it was also among the first games since 2005 for the system period (of games you can go out into retail stores and purchase). Of course people are gonna be hyped.

im just sayin a rerelease of a game that was already GOTM, gets GOTM again?? cmon thats stupid.oh wow online mode..............its playstation, the online community sucks and is poorly implemented. this little bonus will be forgotton in the next couple months whereas multiplayer in graw will be around for a long long time....(see GR2 stats on the xbox). the replayability factor isnt there for MGS3:S . GRAW is chalked full of replay with all of the multiplayer coop options
 
The Rub Rabbits! is getting shit for being similar to FtM.

Oh, and EGM is a shock jock magazine. You wanna know why Pursuit Force, Rub Rabbits! and Onimusha didn't do well here? Because they want to seem hardcore, and for some reason, they give their low scores to all of the smaller games (because they want to avoid the larger fanbase), while they reward the larger franchises.
 
The last thing I would have expected from someone with a Kramer avatar is a "looks are everything" attitude...weird.

SE was an awesome game.

Subsistence is an awesome game

-with a better camera
-with online play
-with Metal Gear
-with Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake (never before released in the US)
-with boss battle mode
-with demo theater

And for about $30. It's pretty fucking sweet, especially for a "re-release."
