For the investment, Oblivion will feature 50 hours of game dialogue and 1,000 characters -- one featuring the voice of actor Patrick Stewart, the man celebrated in geekdom as Captain Picard of "Star Trek: The Next Generation." The game's action takes place in 16 square miles of playing field in a virtual forest (complete with 200 dungeons strewn about).

Howard said the game is designed for players who want to explore every nook and cranny as well as for those who just want to experience the story line. "You're going to save the world in 20 hours," he said, "but this game has 200 hours in it."

Damn, so many great games coming out soon, especially for the PC/Xbox 360 and I'm having a hard time deciding which version I should get. I guess it will depend on whether I get a new computer soon, which I do need to help me with Rendering projects for a portfolio.

Man I'd love to be in Todd's shoes, he sounded like he was having so much fun at E3 describing everything about the game to the press during the demo.

I seriously hope this runs like that E3 trailer...

I mean, a non-flinching 60 fps?! Come on, that's a little hard to swallow. Looked fantastic as a result. If it really does run at a rock solid 60 fps, it will be one of the best looking games on the 360 out of the gate (if not THE best).

That picture is hilarious. :lol

Can't wait for more Elder Scrolls goodness. I hope they took some of the design issues from Morrowind into account and created a tighter story.

Wow, didn't know Bethesda was backed by so many establishment figures. Trump's bro, the head of CBS, a former DNC chairman, a former senator.

You know, that TV looks very much like the ones MS gave away free at GDC last year (of which I was one lucky winner) :D

In development is a sequel to a popular role-playing game called "Fallout," to which Bethesda recently acquired the rights.

Wait...WHAT?! Hot!

Whether I decide on X360 or PC, Oblivion is mine! :D

They already confirmed horses, I believe.

there even a picture i believe. damn, this game is going to rock. i cant wait to spend literally hours exploring the landscape :)

I normally get annoyed when people say "HAY WILL THIS RUN ON MY PUTER!?" But considering Bethseda refuses to even hint at system requirements, I wonder what this game would do to my XP 2800/9800 Pro.

This game is looking absolutely gorgeous. Easily one of my most anticipated X360 games. If anything can get me to buy an X360 at launch, it's this.

Just found this. I found the first game pretty boring as far as RPG's go, but it looks like they're trying to change it for the better.

Morrowind is the 3rd game in the series actually.

and they used to have mounts, i dont know why they dropped that for the last game.

really though, i'll be shocked if this is a launch title... launch window? maybe.

I know, it seems unlikely...

It's just that...my younger sibling is planning on buying an X360 for this title and this title only. If it fails to make launch or the launch window, she'll be crushed. :(

Hopefully it makes it...

Man I want this game so bad. I remember being so hyped for Morrowind because I really loved Daggerfall, and even then it still blew me out of the water. I dont' think I could possibly be MORE hyped.

This is looking pretty damn good. I absolutely hated Morrowind for it's amazing flaws.

That sucks, imo. It should've been, like, saving the world in 150 hours and 50 hours of optional stuff. The way it is now is when you finish the game you haven't seen most of the other stuff and that gives you this bad feeling when you play the game you force yourself to do other stuff. :(

Finish the game? Fuck finishing the game. I can't finish Morrowind because I killed a bunch of important people. I even got a helpful "You're fucking up our carefully prepared storyline" message on screen. That kicked ass. What other game allows you to do that?

I don't know, but Oblivion doesn't last I heard :)

i meant about the guy who comes into every Oblivion thread and bitches about how having access to 'teleporting' ruins the game for him

Psycho-lad is banned so I'll post one of his insane rambings on teleporting for us all to giggle at.

Yeah, that argument doesn't cut it for me. If it is in the game, people (including myself) will use it. If there is an option to disable warping at character creation, I'd be a happy camper. Still, it is a poor design decision imo, whether it is ignorable or not.

This is such a good example of generation GIMME NOW. Horses should be more than adequate, but people just want it, and they want it now heh.

It's gonna be real hard for me to decide which version to get. I'm gonna have to choose between the better performance and visuals of the 360 version (I only have a geforce 6600gt in my system) or easy access to user made mods of the pc version
