Hmm, now when you put them all together like that, Vaan does look out of place. For he actually has a hint of normalcy about him.

If Vaan was wearing an armor or something(I mean, shit, he's wearing armor on his legs) instead of that absurdly ghey vest people would find him much more acceptable.

I don't a problem with Vaan in his current state, but I definitely agree that he'd look a lot better with some sweet Yoshida-designed armor on his upper body. Maybe later in the game, after he gets out of his tropical hometown, he'll get some armor. But probably not.

So that's what prison does to you.

Oh man, thats pretty cool. I'm happy there really paying attention to detail like that. Although, even though theres muscles prevolant in that cage scene it looks more or less because hes famined not because hes been working out :lol

I have a feeling Vaan may be more serious than he looks (he does look childish). I buy into the thought though that Vaan looks gay to some because of the attire. If he was wearing heavy armor and carried a big ass swored then we would be slapping eachothers ass and going "Fuck Yeah". Also someone should post a pic of the judges...now thats badass.

I believe you just inadvertedly spoil0red the game. :P I wonder if large chunks of time pass in the game. We nearly know dick about the story and the characters.

Square's still got plenty of time to let us know everything about them. :P But yah they've done a good job up until now of keeping the story unwraps which is rare today for such a high profile game.

Yeah, unless theres some tangible timeline to put that picture in though it would be ok. Although I have my suspicions and I don't think its that far into the story. I'm happy though, that theres this media blackout for FFXII until the game is near release. Makes the game that much more enjoyable.

If you've been keeping up with FFXII at all, you've seen Brasch in both his beardy/Charlton Heston and non-beardy forms. :p

solid snake has a cool icon

anyways i think that the media blackout is good but thing is... the game is coming out in still a long time

Yeah it's not a big secret as it's come up in previews.

He kills the king and is branded a traitor by the judges and the people, but really he killed the king because the king was going to sell out his country to the invading empire. This all happens 2 years prior to the main events involving Vaan.

GAF is about the only board that seems to have a big problem with Vaan. When FF12 scans and news first came out, it was more like people talking about the "real game" aka world map, storyline details than caring so much about Vaan's look. Dont know why there's such a late backlash. He's pretty normal when you compare some of the character designs out there

What Squirrel said. I thought it was common knowledge that Brasch turned traitor by killing the king and
I dunno if I should've spoiler'd this or not, but harms/kills Vaan's older brother in the process
.

Yoshida probably has the strangest designs when it comes to clothes. Vaan is somewhat weird because of the vest but he doesn't have anything on Ashley and his assless pants.

Nomura takes this title, easily. He needs to leave the game industry and become a fashion designer. Such impractical clothing.

What desciptor would that be? My viewpoint is simple, its not a big deal. Yah he has feminine traits but its not difficult to tell he's a guy. There's absolutely no warning at all to "warn" parents of a character like that.
You can't honestly believe that.

Oh SSX, you can't defend weird eastern art forever. :D

He shouldn't have to defend it. It's art. You like it or you don't. If you don't, you're not required to give grief to those who do, and in fact, it's gotten to the point where it's pretty damn unwelcome now. I'm sick to death of hearing people here bitch because Eastern aesthetics aren't to their taste, as if they speak not just for themselves, but for the entire Western world. You don't like it? Fine. There are other games for you. Go play KotOR or Diablo II or something, where all the males are nice, safe 'manly men', and there are no nasty androgynous characters to make you feel icky. :p

As for the design of Calintz, here's what Hyung-Tae Kim had to say in the September issue of Play:

PLAY: Calintz is certainly one of the most provocative male leads ever. He's slight and flashy, but at the same time tough and proud. Did you toil a lot over his final look?

Hyung-Tae Kim: In RPG's, the player comes to understand the main character's personality as he or she progresses through the game. Knowing that, I tried to base half of Calintz's personality on his looks, and the other half on a completely different cultural code. I was thinking that in this day and age, the male body can be used as a "weapon" just as much as the female body can, so I had Calintz wear a gender-neutral outfit. It wasn't difficult for me, but the other staff members were totally confused by my decision.

Personally, I thought that was pretty interesting.

Nice!! I thought we're going to be confined in the Dalmascan area, but in the second scan the rightmost town clearly says Archadis (or Archadith...). It seems this is the capital of Archadia
, where Vayne and Larsa lives
.
