That bra is digitally added for the trailer. She's topless in that scene.

Plus:

Special Guest Director: Quentin Tarantino!

I know somebody mentioned it before on GAF, but what is the song playing in both of the Sin City trailers? I finally read the books (you can get the recent 2nd editions on amazon) and it's just stunning how true it is to the panels of the comic.

Wait...who's topless?
To be honest, I haven't the faintest idea. I had a guess here, but that was wrong. And the other guess just doesn't seem right. So, my final answer is: I dunno.

Cant f-ing wait :D

I am still totally on the edge. It has potential to be amazing, but jesus it still looks like it could be a huge disaster as well (WTF rooftop stripper gunfight? :lol).

They wisely left out a lot of dialogue....that has probably been the movie's weakest point in all the previews thus far.

Based on the screenshot from the new trailer, I'd take a guess that the topless woman in question is Lucille. I don't know for sure, but it looks like a panel from the beginning of The Hard Goodbye when Marv visits Lucille after he's been framed. The actress playing Lucille in the Sin City movie is the lovely Carla Gugino (the mom from the Spy Kids trilogy).

yeah that's lucille. here's the 5 minute comicon trailer. about half way through it does a shot comparison of the comic to movie. It also shows other comparison and it's easy to see they follow the source material very closely. Even more than any other comic movie to date. *caution there is toplessness in the trailer

Alright. I was a huge critic against this movie, but now I'm thinking it looks pretty cool. The art is pretty neat. It's like a comic or something. I was actually thinking if the Max Payne movie ever gets made, this is what it'll look like.

I was really surprised that Tarantino is involved. Now I'm really excited. How's this work? Is Sin City a bunch of intertwined stories? How many directors are there?

You're a huge critic of everything.

... duh!

Three stories, all intertwining. Frank Miller, Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino are the directors.

You rule, man. I don't hate everything though. 95% of everything sucks. So yeah, 95% of the time I will be a huge critic.

What REALLY sucks is that I'll be on a cruise ship in the middle of the Carribean when this flick comes out. I won't be able to see it until April 5th at the earliest.

I wonder how they'll handle the end of That Yellow Bastard? I mean, with the
ripping off of the penis
and all.

Looks pretty damn awesome.

Where can I precure the novels in the UK? Amazon isn't being helpful.

Well it looks like you might be able to find some first editions on Amazon.co.uk but it looks like the second editons (which were recently released in the US) won't be released until sometime in April. For reference sake, if you want the graphic novels or stories that make up the film then you'll want to look for The Hard Goodbye, That Yellow Bastard & The Big Fat Kill.

Meh. I don't see why they have to credit Tarantino to the degree that they have considering he only directed a 3-5 minute scene that features Dwight (Clive Owen) and Jackie Boy (Benicio Del Toro) having a conversation while driving to the tar pit.

Spoilers to follow, dont read unless you've read the comics...

Is the film really gonna go into

the mruderer getting his legs chopped off and eaten by wolves, or the sledgehammer to the face, or the wierd rape thing going on in Yellow Bastard? or will all the worst bits be cut?

Should be the best comic book adaptation (even though its more of a straight conversion to film by the looks of things) so far, just such awesome styling.

using spoiler tags, can someone explain the Kevin character? I've seen so many people say he was one of the better casting choices and I want to know why. Thanks.

I'm a proud owner of the first five Sin City graphic novels, all first prints. What am I so special? Dark Horse stopped printing these!

Instead, they're printing digest sized versions of the same graphic novels, for the same price as the full sized ones. Consumers are getting screwed up the ass again.

Kevin is
the mute kung fu cannibal! Don't be fooled by his innocent, boyish good looks... the guy's one crazy-ass mofo, capable of giving even a guy like Marv a serious beatdown!
Any more than that, it's hard to explain exactly who he is without giving away the plot of Hard Goodbye.

The same reason that they mentioned his name in the trailer for Hero when he had nothing to do with that. Figure it out.

He helped fund the US release. If he didn't Miramax would never have released it here.

Same thing with Iron Monkey.

this is a definite top one for the summer for me. The wife and I will be in line opening night.

Just add it to my long list of Summer movies to see....

ya, but the real directors name wasnt even mentioned in the trailer. many people assumed QT directed it.

It's possible to have discerning taste without hating on practically everything. I mean, many things rock, but the amount of suckage is still broad enough to wholly consume you.

Just.... everyone read this:

I'm not overly excited about any movie coming out this year. Sure, I'll see the big blockbusters, but I don't think they'll be anything special. Hitchhiker's Guide might be alright. I'm only interested in that one cause it stars the dude from The Office. Batman looks kind of lame. The Batmobile looks like shit. Willy Wonka looks lame. No need to remake. Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe was on tv once. Looked like shit. Didn't watch it. Never read the book. Don't care to see the new one, but I probably will. War of the Worlds I've already seen when it was called Independence Day. Spielberg sucks ass anymore. I love the Star Wars, but most likely the new one will suck. The Brothers Grimm probably won't make it out this year. It's been delayed for over a year already.

That Paul Walker movie does look like good clean fun though.

Oh, Sin City?? Yeah, it looks very, very awesome. A movie this ambitious could still be a miserable failure, but if done WELL, then it could be amazing.
