He helped fund the US release. If he didn't Miramax would never have released it here.
Nah, he didn't help fund the release. Weinstein funded it on Tarantino's suggestion, Weinstein told him he'd do it if he could use Tarantino's name as producer because he knew kids would go see it when they pimped his name all over it. And yea, a lot of the common folk did think it was a new Tarantino movie.

Kevin is
the mute kung fu cannibal! Don't be fooled by his innocent, boyish good looks... the guy's one crazy-ass mofo, capable of giving even a guy like Marv a serious beatdown!
Any more than that, it's hard to explain exactly who he is without giving away the plot of Hard Goodbye.
thanks. I'm gonna just have to find the books and give them a read.

I saw the poster for this at the movie, and was like "WTF is this?" Thanks for the pics. The movie looks interesting.

Yeah it's her. Probably known for her more recent roles in the Spy Kids Trilogy (also directed by Rodriguez) and the ill fated Karen Sisco TV series. She play's Lucille in Sin City, a lesbian defense attorney IIRC.. :lol

IGN are also reporting that a Sin City Videogame is in the works now:

Perhaps jetjevons can divulge, if any, new info regarding the game.... :D

That Sin City game should be in black and white(with ocassional coloring) and also be an adventure game, done in the style of the classic point and click games. Otherwise, the potential to suck is huge.

I'm curious how this movie will turn out. Has Hollywood gotten serious about comics or is this another milk run. We'll see..........

A milk run co-directed by the comic's creator. Sure.

This is something I'm not sure about. Did Frank Miller do any actual "directing"(like literally being behind the cameras and yelling at the actors and shit)? AFAIK Rodriguez just wanted him to be in the credits because of how closely he followed the comic.

No, he did directing. As someone posted earlier, there are three storylines in the movie. One is directed by Rodriguez, another by Miller, and the third by Tarantino. Rodriguez told the Director's Guild to go fuck themselves because they wouldn't allow more than one director to be credited on the movie.

Actually Miller and Rodriguez directed all 3 stories together. Tarantino only directs a short scene in The Big Fat Kill and not a full segment/story. Also Miller was doing just as much work as Rodriguez in directing the cast ("Action! Cut, Good Job, Looks Great etc") but when you've got the guy who created the books, characters and all that it especially makes things easier not only for Rodriguez to help plan the technical side of a shot but also for the cast to ask any questions and help 'get' their character. After all they're shooting panel for panel from the comic book for the film. :)

God damn this shit is hot. Better not let me down. But I'm sure Miller won't let it be anything close to mediocre.

3 weeks!

Is there a smaller version of this trailer out yet? At 28MB, it's going to take me... oh, 2 hours to download this version.

I think that is the smallest version available considering it's only in Medium-Res. The Apple encoded version should be up sometime within in the week.

Yahoo movies has some new stills up including storyboards and comparison shots between the movie and comic book:
