when I dabbled with a japanese rom of one of the old fire emblems I remember having weapons that could be 'used' aside from just attacking with them. Was that only for one game or was it common thing and will it be in either the newest gba one coming in may or the gamecube one? I liked that.

Yeah that was in Thracia. I have no idea if they'd bring that back in this game, though anything's possible.

I don't know who people does look at screenshots (or maybe it's when they look at the video). It looks the same as in the screenshots. I suppose people are generally impressed by movement or something.
Well whatever, not the best graphics but judging from the past Fire Emblem games, this one will prolly be good!
I just hope that it comes out here in America...
