New Ghouls'n'Ghosts for PSP

It'll be relatively high resolution, at least as high as the 1988 arcade Ghouls'n'Ghosts on CPS1 which was 384x224 - and believe it or not, but the DS is NOT capable of this resolution which is also semi-widescreen - even the PS1 and Saturn were not capable of this exact resolution on a television..... I'm really glad PSP is the platform for the new GnG....
cept the 384x224 was stretched to be played on 4:3 monitors (non square pixels), so the 'semi-widescreen' argument doesnt really make any sense. capcom pulled the widescreen crap with darkstalkers, that ended up with everything looking stretched in the widescreen mode cause they werent meant to be displayed like that.

While that's true, that means nothing to this new game. :P

I did beat GnG on NES and it wasnt really that hard.. Level 2 was by far the hardest level in the game, and the last boss was laughable easy compared to the rest of the game.

Anyway the PSP screenshots are amazing.

Damn that looks amazing. The scans made it look like the backgrounds were 2D but that is full 3D with awsome lighting effects VJ eat your heart out. Why can't they commit updates like this to consoles? PSPlayer get!

seeing these GnG shots for PSP just makes Konami & IGA's comments about 'no 2d Castlevania's on a platform like PSP' just goddamn ridiculous.

Way to go, Capcom!

Especially in light of the fact that the new CV does not seem to be performing well at retail (which is a shame IMO).

However, if THESE are somehow successul, perhaps a 2D CV game on PSP could actually become a reality?

The problem is that Konami can't rehash old data on the PSP like they can with Castlevania on DS. Perhaps te crap sales of Castlevania DS will help Konami change their tune.

Catlevania period does not perform good numbers domestically. I'll eat a hat if Ghouls N Ghost does any decent numbers either. Konami is hoping on the USA audience to give this a respectable consumer base.

...and here comes the typical low-charted quality post from Mr. Bob =p

Castlevania games (have always) sold like shit in Japan.

PSX didn't change that.
N64 didn't.
PS2 didn't.
GBA didn.t
And DS didn't

thus, logic dictates PSP won't.
