New GTA V Trailers "MICHAEL. FRANKLIN. TREVOR."

GTA V might have the first good storyline since Vice City.

Not a fan of Franklin, or that gangster lifestyle in general. Hated San Andreas' story because of it.

I'm excited! Hopefully Rockstar can pull off an interwoven storyline effectively, the three characters looks like they can play off each other really well.

My guess is he will be "forced" into the "game" and we will be doing lots of San Andreas stuff. Time will tell.

Note that San Andreas is my favorite GTA, I just want something new from 5.
I think him working with Trevor and Michael on the heists will be an interesting change of pace from CJ.

Honestly, Franklin sounds interesting to me. He works for Armenian gangsters, R* describes him as "fit, ambitious, fashion conscious" and Michael calls him " the son I've never had" in the second trailer. Upon first glance he may seem cliche, but I don't think that will be the case by the time the main story is over (same goes for Michael and Trevor).

As it stands right now, Watch Dogs is a far more exciting prospect than GTA V. I guess being a new IP fresh on the scene helps.

Always trust Ubisoft.. especially after AC3.

Watch Dogs looks alright, but i have yet to understand what is so groundbreaking about it, the "hacking" stuff they've shown was really thin so far.

not seeing how franklin is any less cliche than michael being a soprano's ripoff

Well I find Trevor to be the most interesting of the three by far. But Michael's character hasn't been done in GTA before at least. We have done plenty of gangbanging on the other hand.

Like I said, I just want to point out that this has nothing to do with Franklin being black. At all. His character could look exactly like Vanilla Ice and I would say the same thing.

I don't like how they copied the Heat scene. I've already seen it many times. It's like watching a rerun. Give me something at least somewhat original.

Michael is the most interesting to me. He's already in the place that most of the other GTA protagonists aspired to be by the end of their games. He has it all, but needs something more.

From previous trailers and today I pretty much got the idea about their background story and character concept, Franklin and Trevor the most, each of them in their own way, totally different and that's good thing because it will give lot of oppotunity to match so well when they are going to be together, but even now I have no clue whatsoever about how Michael will be or is. I only know, to see a man who drinks, telling few words there and there. He doesn't show his personality that much, there is no progress information about him, only if R* is planning on porpuse to expand him over time through the story like well incoming suprise.

On this last video with Franklin, now I can really hear his voice so much better and similar to somebody else voice I that heared from some other games (CJ son, who knows :p), something that I would really like to play with and perhaps he will actually be as my main character choice if not the favorite. Trevor is very intresting as well, but why they had to make his facial a bit old, sticked on such young buff body.

Michael may be a Tony Soprano/Michael Mann movie ripoff. But then I must ask you, what could be better?

I got that exact same feel for him. When he tosses his daughter/wife by and arm and then just sits down to watch a gangster movie, I immediately thought Tony Soprano. Plus, I really like it when the Houser's base their characters off of other well developed characters. I give credit to their game making abilities, but... there's nothing wrong with copying character styles and attitudes that are already done much better than they could do. It worked in GTA3, Vice City, and San Andreas... and the Houser home spun protagonist really didn't work that well in GTAIV.

What really pisses me off with the lack of PC version is not that I'm forced to play it on a console... whatever, gameplay wise it's the same and I would play the PC version with a 360 pad anyway. No, what pisses me off is that there's no way to actually play that game with a smooth framerate. We know the 360/PS3 version won't have stable framerates (hell, GTA4 had terrible framerate and this is much better looking)...

Come on Rockstar, at least let us play the game you intended it to be played.

I am not baiting you.

If I may ask, why is it boring to you.

I feel I saw it before, shoot and shoot gangsters is not my definition of fun, I mean, it was nice in San Andreas but it didn't take itself so seriously and the escenarios were wacky most of the time. It got tiresome though.

Because he is black.

But you can't write that on NeoGAF so you have to find something else to describe it. I can't relate etc.
WTF IS THIS SHIT

UGH, GTA4 was so fucking boring, where is the stuff to do and the variety?!

UGH the graphics suck, why don't they do it like Watch Dogs?!

I'm glad the gangbanging is being featured prominently again. It doesn't matter if San Andreas already covered it, the culture is a big part of urban life and ignoring it just because there was a previous game dedicated to it is ridiculous.

Oh stop that shit.

Gangbangers are a joke, no matter what colour they are. The old cosa nostra style mafia are way too fucking badass.

For some reason this post reminds me of the guy who said he couldn't get into the Wire because he didn't like drug culture, but that he was a huge fan of Breaking Bad.

People are just finding ways to not say they don't like the character because he is black. I know these types well.

I see right through those posts but I see people don't like when the "race card" is pulled.

I mean the game looks awesome and everything, but the music, the dialogues, the characters are just

The Trevor trailer was the only decent one imo, at least it was somewhat original.

Lots of complainers ITT that seem to forget that GTA is historically a parody of mainstream stereotypes and entertainment media.
