I understand your desire for the game to turn out to be everything you want it to be. But I also distrust 98% of NeoGAF's ability to critically analyze next-gen game tech in action based on a compare and contrast of two screenshots. We've had too many instances already where GAFers have sworn there's a downgrade in a game even though the devs themselves have confirmed there isn't. Lighting being what it is for this gen ("vibrant and dynamic" as Nostromo put it) can make effect like normal-mapping seem abundantly apparent in one shot and absolutely absent in another. With lots more dependence on pixel shaders effects this gen, that's only to be expected.Zen said:I'm really looking forward to this game. It's my second most wanted PS3 game behind Metal Gear Solid 4, and to me Metal gear Solid is the best series in the industry. So with that in mind you might understand why I'm vocal about not liking this new look.

So I think getting this hung up on what you think you see in a miniaturized screenshot is still way overboard.
GAFers have sworn there's a downgrade in a game even though the devs themselves have confirmed there isn't.

I had it on one eye. In the early stages I did see the world as in all these overbloomed HDR games (Oblivion). Very annoying.
Ranger X said:That's bad. So i understand that cataract can be cured? (seriously, i don't know much about those)

Just making it look very damp, like it would be in this kind of environment with waterfalls.

How confident? More confident than I am about GAFers ability to accurately discern real downgrades in next-gen games. It's not a free pass for devs, but I'm not talking about the change from a target render to actual game here, rather actual in-game screenshots that are reported to present one build and the next.DCharlie said:i agree with everything you say - but i have to ask (and this isn't aimed at Nostromo and crew because i'm big fans of what they are doing with HS) how confident that devs tell you the absolute truth about thier game mid-dev ?
I dunno, did these same people believe Bioware in regards to Mass Effect (which demonstrated a significantly greater discrepancy)?DCharlie said:i agree with everything you say - but i have to ask (and this isn't aimed at Nostromo and crew because i'm big fans of what they are doing with HS) how confident that devs tell you the absolute truth about thier game mid-dev ?

So now, there's one big game for each month in summer.
June - Ninja Gaiden Sigma
July - Lair
August - Heavenly Sword
May is slim pickings, unless Rainbow 6 turns out good...
