If a shuffle/flash player is probably enough, buy one of those and a PSP. Or wait until later in the year when the new phones come out with music players on them and get one of those (depends when your contract is up though)

The only thing with the moto phones is wouldn't they be just as hamstrung with memory as the PSP?

thats why I said 'if a shuffle is enough'. Flash is fine for most people, and its easy enough to update via USB/SD card - even WMP10 can sync to a memory card.

And I didn't say anything about the moto phones - just phones in general. There will be other phones with music players on too you know :)

And so it begins...

...I was thinking Shuffle by the Summer... I still think I will... but the new price on the 4GB Mini is really tempting... Damn you Apple.

Yeah...I'm definitely no longer interested in the shuffle compared to the newly cheap 4GB iPod. Student Discount makes it only $225 Canadian...which is only $45 more than the 1GB Shuffle. 4x the space and a screen are worth it, most definitely. I have about 2GBs of music now, and have no real plans on adding shitloads more, so I think I would be fine with the smaller size for quite some time. I will likely use my birthday money to pick it up in the next couple of weeks, if I decide to do so. I'm taking a trip out west (Edmonton) later in March, and since Wario Ware: Twisted got delayed a week and it won't be out before the trip, I need something else for the plane ride. Now, to see if I can swindle a "Parents order it early and simply confiscate my birthday money" plan so I can have it before next Friday. I have a 3 hour drive to take.

I bought a 60GB Photo about 6 weeks ago.

Well, while it sucks that it dropped that fast and that much, it's still a great toy.

$450 for 60 GB is a great, great price (even if it weren't color) in that size and with the iTUnes convenience.

Lag? No worries here. It's just a slight thing while navigating, and half the time I'm not even looking at the screen to notice.

Okay...this is harder than I thought.

Has anyone seen any shots of a purchased new Blue iPod Mini? Not studio shots, but just normal ones? I am trying to decide between blue and silver. I have no problem with silver, but I noticed that the actual one is much lighter than the studio shots, so I am wondering what being in natural lighting does to the colour of the blue one.

The current iPod mini was on sale at my local CompUSA (Burbank, CA) for $179.99. I didn't stop to ask since they were closing, and I was trying to pay for something.

CompUSA.com still has them for $250 though.
