I love the quotes they have on that page:
“…new life into the third-person action genre.”
“…we were blown away by what we had seen…”
:lol :lol

Tell me something. Are Boon and Tobias still working on these games? If so, why? Aren't they ashamed at the lame joke the series has become? After the abortion that was MK3, I've never given an MK another look. PEACE.

Wow... it looks less crappy than it did in the other pics... Oh wait, it's just cause the pics themselves are smaller... nevermind.

Nah, I think only Boon is holding on to the dream.

I wonder if there'll be that floating guy in the window in that first pic. Oh well though, I haven't played a MK since MK2, and I'll leave it like that. I'd rather have fond memories of MK.

This game looks like krap.

Tobias left Midway in 1999. Ed Boon is still lead designer for the fighting games, but is only supervising on this one. BTW, MK3 is the best in the series.

And the robbed guy on The Tower stage is a Shadow Priest, and it's already been said that you'll fight them.

Uh, no. It is well-established at this point that MK2 was the pinnacle of the series.

Thanks for saying that, b/c you saved someone some serious reamage. :lol If there's one thing I know, it's that MK3 was the first step into a long decline for the series. MK3 wasn't total trash, but it sucked compared to 2, and it didn't follow KI too well either IMO. PEACE.

In regards to popularity it is, but I've always thought MK3 is a better game. MK3's gameplay is just so much better. Much faster paced, with less of an emphasis on turtling and counter attacking and a much deeper combo system. I also like MK3's backgrounds, characters, music and story more than II's.

What is so superior about II?

word. it's good to know that i'm not the only cat who couldn't mess with the series after mk2 (which was a blast).

This is what I want to know as well. People just say this now as if it's fact. I played MK2 and 3 when the most recent Midway Arcade Treasures was released and 3 is better in every way. Please, someone give reasons why 2 is better...

People only like MK2 better because it was more "serious" and had less funny stuff in it. MK3 had a lot of palette swapped characters and made the finishing moves comical.

However I personally loved MK3 more, if anything because despite palette swapped characters, each character had their own unique story, and it was cool to unlock characters like Noob Saibot. While it wasn't as difficult or hardcore, it had "features" that made it shine.

well 2 came out when the mk hype wave was at its strongest and seeing "TEH gruesome" finishing moves was awesome, and wondering what sort of secret characters could be hidden was much the talk of the 6th grade lunchroom (if I remember correctly).

I thought 3 was good as well, but I it was becoming more comical and less serious (if you could even call mk "serious").

I'm the only person in the world that liked MK4. Yes every character is essentially the same. Yes everyone has the same hp hp hk hk <- + hk move. Yes weapons are pretty much useless. But DAMMIT it was fun to just mess around.

MK4 has a really cool story and the juggle system is so broken it's fun to play with. MK4 is better than DA and D.

MK fucking sucks, and that was only reassured when I ruined my fond memories of MK2/3 with MAT2. Fucking block button, run button, stiff, unresponsive controls; far inferior to the elegant, responsive control schemes Capcom and SNK employ.

I think it will be an action fighting game, maybe like Streets of Rage. I would think lots of MK story line info too. I think the living forest screenshot looks interesting.
