I'm okay with Multiplayer game, just like, Helldiver 2, Warkhawk, Resistance, Killzone, MAG, as long as it is not woke infested, where they will push and force twisted gender ideology like for example misuse of pronouns, binary crap and making characters as ugly as possible. And as long there is still a story mode for single player mode.

And these images are supposed to be from an early prototype, games look like that at this point of early development. Regarding the theme or setting, the images or weapon names only have placeholders. This could even end being an anime scifi or fantasy shooter with dinosaurs.

Unlikely anything other than a UI designer messing around in Photoshop (notice the Lorem Ipsum text). This may be from something bend is working on or it may not.

Scream military shooter Gaas :(
Loved days gone, would have bought a sequel in a heartbeat. This tiny out of context tease has my excitement at absolute zero.

Controlled leak to get feedback before released and another flop.

Looks pathetic. Dead before it even arrives. Cancel and close the studio no one wants this shite.

I hope this doesn't get in the way of my Days Gone remaster.

Lorem ipsum is the typical placeholder text traditionally used by everybody.

Being in prototype stage they use placeholders for everything because most things are yet to be done, they are just experimenting and want to have things running even if ugly because they need to have something there to do other things. In this case, they obviously don't have text description for the weapons because very likely at that stage they still haven't decided which weapons are going to be in the game. Even the list of weapons listed there may be just a placeholder too.

Pretty likely the artist just was told: 'make a menu placeholder of a weapons crafting screen with tabs for crafting, inventory, map and help'. And didn't have anything else, even a list of crafting elements or weapons.

This kind of posts are the reason of why the industry is so secretive and devs don't like to show their games until they are almost ready: random dumb users have no fucking idea of how games are made, and that they look like shit during most of the devevelopment because most art is still to be done and there are tons of placeholders, unfinished things and bugs everywhere.

Represent.

Represent(ative) of bad opinions
You guys act like Military shooters are anywhere NEAR as stale as Hero shooters.

We dont have enough military shooters that take themselves seriously.

This is welcomed if its like SOCOM.

Well, yes, I know what placeholder art and what prototypes are, I've done plenty myself, but none of that looks like its in a game, it all looks like Photoshop only (not even particularly good ones to be fair, but thats just my opinion and UI art goes through many iterations, but a lot of that is misaligned (especially the red one), basic, something you could knock up in less than an hour easily, again, my personal opinion, others may like it). Now, this may just be me, but when I transfer concept/UI art into the game the Lorem Ipsum is removed to something more relevant. Even putting art over an existing game just screams Photoshop play around, if you are working on a game UI then you usually have concept art for the game, why not use that? (game concept artists at a large company are separate to UI artists, I do all my own, but I'd be putting UI over concept art for the same game personally).

Thats why I personally think this is nothing, maybe something an artist was playing around with in their spare time. It could be for a game, I dont know, but from these screens I;d say we cant draw any conclusions whatsoever.

Well, if these screenshots and given info are true, it doesn’t look very interesting to me. Hopefully I’ll be proven wrong.

I would sacrifice Days gone, Syphon Filter, new God of War, and TLOU ever coming back for a new SOCOM.

Wipeout and SOCOM are the two franchises I want back the most from Sony.
Bring Resistance and MotorStorm as well. Resistance because Guerrilla is done with Killzone, so we have no first-party FPS from Sony. MotorStorm because we need an arcade racer from Sony that's not trying to be neither GT or Forza/Horizon.

Omg yes.

I really just want a revival of mid 7th gen. Killzone, Resistance, Wipeout, Motorstorm, Halo, Gears, and fuck it throw LBP back in there too.

My dream that will never come true.

Oh look, another cinematic third person over-the-shoulder bloated open world game with ten minute forced walking sections incoming. Yawn.

My first thought. Or actually my second. My first thought reading the title of this thread was "imagine if they do a classic fun platform adventurer or something like that. Maybe cel-shaded, perhaps a bit magical." And that thought was replaced with "nah, they'll probably do a cinematic shooter."

Well XDEFIANT kind of came and went, and it's not that we don't have a good number of military shooters vs the fact most just peter out or crash & burn before establishing themselves.

No to Resistance, yes to Motorstorm.

People are guessing Socom as a spiritual successor but this also known to feature vehicles.

If this is a Warhawk revival then that would be more interesting for me as it had an identity of its own not really seen since. But these days, when I hear "military shooter" I think of COD competitors that basically just copy whatever COD is doing with a small twist here or there. I don't think COD is even a great franchise honestly, it's rather boring IMO, so when I hear "military shooter" or COD competitor I think it'll be more of the same.

At the same time I know how big a franchise COD is so I understand people wanting to make competitors to it for market share. IMO tho SIE already had a shot at that early this year with Helldivers 2, and that's a game with a way different vibe than COD. They kinda fumbled a bit with the PSN drama stuff but they can still do a lot with that game. Basically if companies want to do more COD competitors, make them unique and interesting, that's what'll get people's attention.

But they're a pretty good developer. Days Gone was a pretty good preview of what they could be capable of. Not worried about some shitty screens, yet.

Edit: Just noticed the context, it's just a few concept sketches from a UI designer's portfolio, doesn't mean much.
