New New Super Mario Bros 2 trailer

we posted it in the New Mario thread but I think that it's ok having a new thread about it!
The more I see the more I like, especially after having played it few weeks ago, enjoying it a lot (especially for the 60fps also in 3d, I think)

Plus: I love the title: NEW NEW NEW NEW NEW :D

Mario 64 canon sound. Water level still seems rather generic, but Mega Mario's model looks a lot better.

Fire level looks interesting. Looks like they brought back the Gold Leaf from Mario 3D Land.

Rehash, but still looks solid.

Well that was an unexciting trailer. The focus on collecting coin is such a disappointing gimmick for them to focus a 2D Mario game on.

That super item that shows up if you die a lot looks better than the guide. Not that probably most people ever even saw the guide here.

The gameplay looks great.

I wish they went back to using gorgeous 2D sprites though, the 3D doesn't add anything for me.

I don't like the huge Mario (brings nothing much to the gameplay) and I wonder how the game will be balanced when there are so many coins. I mean, we are already drown in lives in other Mario games, will we have 99 lives after 3 levels now? lol

I think we need to wait and see. It looks like a lot of fun, the idea of going for more gold rather than only avoiding enemies. It will add some cool tricks when balancing attacking with gold collecting.

Exactly my thoughts , to be honest. Was bored while watching.

And who cares about collecting coins in a Mario game anyway?

This looks a lot better to me than what we saw at E3, I'm actually pretty excited now. The environments and level design look very solid and that's what it's all about to me.

Looks good. Wish it was implementing the slightly less stale art style of the Wii U version (or a completely different art style altogether), but it looks fun. Hope the level design is up to NSMBWii standards.

Awesome trailer. Those environments (especially the ice-themed one) look very SMB3-esque. And Bullet Bills shitting coins is just hilarious. Still a Day 1 buy for me.

I still wish we could use that White Tanooki suit without the invincibility attached. That thing is hella sexy.

Same here. Maybe they'll do something more interesting with it than making a couple of boss fights a little more challenging to unlock two of the worlds.

Mini mushroom's fine, they're pretty fun to mess with especially in NSMBW. It's the return of the mega mushroom that's pretty groan worthy

This has to be the disappointment of the year for me just watching the trailers. The gimmick sounds lame in this game, the level design looks like it came out of a C studio, and the music outside of the main theme seems ripped from other nsmb games.

I am really confused when I see people say that the coin thing is stupid. Don't you follow the coins in Mario games? Have you never noticed how they lead you around the levels and give you hints to where there are secrets? They work like a carrot on a stick to get you to try platforming challenges and tell you where you need to go. It sounds like they're really going to play to that concept with this game and I think that sounds great.

Also, the big and small mushrooms definitely came in handy when going for 100% in the first game. It doesn't sound like many people here actually did that, but I had a lot of fun beating every stage, finding all the exits, and getting all the Yoshi coins and I plan to do that again with NSMB2.

It looks pretty fun. I am getting a bit tired of the New titles, though.

Dry Piranha Plants? Did we have these before?

Is it just me, or does it look kinda bland? The 3D doesnt seem that good either, based on that downloadable E3 trailer.

No shit Sherlock, it's exactly the same in (probably) any platformer whether Sonic the Hedgehog or Rayman: Origins.
