I am still not sure if I should buy a new 3DS. I have the old 3DS which I bought on launch "a long time ago".

I mean of course with the faceplates, the new buttons the N3DS looks amazing. And yes the menu will be faster to handle, but besides this I don´t see any reasons besides buying something which is totally new.

I don´t like the 3D of the old 3DS, after about 5 minutes I am getting a headache. But I am not quite sure if this will still be the case with the new face tracking.

So someone want to convince me into buying a new 3ds? I like new stuff, haha.

I'm coming from the ghetto 3ds as well....the sheer size of the screen (almost as big as the entire top flap on the old 3ds) and the eye tracking already make it seem worth it to me. the bigger size will hopefully cut back on the hand cramps as well

Ok...I'm Brown and i like nodding my head to the tunes in Theatrhytm and it loses me(low light conditions)... This sucks no 3D for me. And it still looks smudged if I stay still. Perhaps I just can't see 3D.
Well at least it's better than that recurring dream where the Kinect alerts the authorities on me and transforms into Optimus Prime and pins me down


Btw on another serious note. I bought MH and MM special editions n3DS'. Can i transfer the digital game to the MH one without loosing any stuff? Like just merge that with the already merged shit from my OG XL?

I copied my save files to my files to my PC after transfer and now it giving me a permissions error in windows when I try to copy the save files to the new SD. Anyone had this problem before? Note this is after the license transfer.

To test that it's not a fault in the system itself, just point the built-in browser at a few websites. If the sites come up but the shop still gives error codes, it's not a problem with the system's wifi.

That sort of defect does seem pretty unlikely.

Thankfully, NeoGAF loaded up just fine on the system browser, so I'll just chalk it up to eShop launch day craziness. Considering both MM and MH4U also downloaded pretty rapidly overnight I kind of assumed it was a Nintendo problem...but the lack of other posts detailing the same errors has me a bit concerned. I mean even the system update/transfer process was riddled with errors for me, but it eventually went through, but I was hammering them for close to two hours. (Now at work with 3 hours of sleep...:/)

I'd keep my XL and buy the smaller if they released it, since it was the one I really wanted to begin with. The red is way nicer than I ever expected though, not as disappointed about not being able to switch plates now.

Well, I lost everything on my SD card.

Fuck. All because my temporary SD card was formatted as NTFS, and it's what I had in the New3DS.

EDIT: Okay, so essentially, I did a system transfer, and moved data from my XL's full sized SD card to the micro SD card. Popped the Micro SD card in the New 3DS, and it said it couldn't read it. Fuck. So I pull it out, and find out it's NTFS. So I copy the Data onto the PC, and then reformat it as FAT32, and copy everything back on. At this point, the New 3DS XL is able to read the SD card, but unable to use any of the data (ie saves etc).

Is there anything I can do?

Just finished the transfer process, which was painfully slow even on the "license only" transfer.

Luckily, the download speeds are MUCH better this time around, so re-downloading everything isn't too much of a pain.

Love the swiftness of the menus now, which is a huge improvement. No longer are they sluggish and slow.

Looking forward to playing around with it more. Good thing it is a slow day at work today!

I grabbed the black one and I really like it. The smoothness of the finish feels better in my hands. I like the lightish/grey tint to it as well. Much better than my normal red XL.

Question and sorry if this has been answered lol, but I owned a few games (Digital) on my old 3DS about a year ago and I traded it in not thinking I was gonna buy another one. Well of course Nintendo got me with the New 3DS so my question is if I call them is there anyway they can give me back those games? Cause I'm sure as heck not paying $40 for all them again lol

Not sure if anyone answered this, but I'll try. Do you remember if you linked an NNID with the 3DS? If you did, call Nintendo and they may be able to help you once you get your new 3DS. If you didn't link an NNID then you're SOL

Went to Best Buy a bit ago to pick up my copy of MM and Smash Brothers, along with Link and Samus Amiibos.

They still had 7 or 8 New 3DS on the shelf in the gaming section. Mix of black and red. It was the one in Lithonia, GA next to the Stonecrest mall. About an hour ago.

Took them a while to find my copy of MM. Got the in-store pick up notification yesterday, but it had apparently literally just came off the truck.

Now just waiting for UPS to come with my Black New 3DS from Gamestop. Kind of annoyed Best Buy wasn't taking preorders anymore on Monday since they clearly got extra in. Would rather have gotten the Reward Zone points. Oh well.
