You like me, you really really like me!
This is the farsight before the x-ray ability...

It's really not half bad looking (as initial reactions would have you believe)...

It just doesn't seem "next-gen".

I'd consider it next-gen if there were 1000 wallguys rendered on screen at once ala Kameo.

Very nice.
Anyone can find the xbox 360 gameplay footage with the PD0 footage in it? I'd like to see it again, I was very impressed but now I can't seem to find it again.

Graphics really have met their max. For the next-gen, and the ones before it, no longer with technicality make for good looking games. It's all going to come down to the in-game art, and attention to detail by the developers.

And that first screen looks perfectly fine to me for an Xbox 360 launch title. No complaints here.

What is he talking about?

No it's not.

I mean, while a lot of it wasn't realtime, the demos shown by Sony for PS3 really show us where we could be heading. Surely you can see there is a lot of technical growth waiting to happen. Art is as important as ever, but technology remains very important.

I think it looks fine and it really doesnt bother me one bit if the graphics in this game arent mind-blowing. 50 bots plus online plus kick-ass PD gameplay=SOLD.

that's the thing... this is a multiplayer shot and the game still has at least 4-5 months of development time remaining. It's going to be a must have launch title, imo.

Although ToyMachine isn't right about graphics hitting their max--he's right on his second point.

Technical improvements don't mean a damn thing if the art and attention to detail aren't there--no matter what anyone tells ya.

That's not the farsight I know. Alien weapons > same old crap.

Though I dont believe thats the farsight. Its probably some new x-ray gun.

In no way am I saying that Perfect Dark Zero is the max of graphics. We've already seen a ton of games that look better than this. But what I'm saying is, when the next-gen of systems reach their peak...It's not going to get much better technically. The stuff that will make it better, is what the developers do with the art style of the game, and the amount of details they pack into the environments, etc.

"Rare" and "Fun" do not go together ;)

Sure they do. As in, Rare's games are rarely fun lately. See what I did there?
