I miss the old RHCP. :(

I discovered music with them...

As someone who dug Arcadium for the most part, I think this single sounds like a b-side unpolished demo. Chorus is a bit cluttered w/ an out-of-place guitar riff inserted in. Rest of song stays stagnant with a wtf bridge and outro. Hoping the album is better than this....

I've never heard of Stadium Arcadia and I've liked the Peppers since Freaky Styley. Of course, I tend to listen to their pre-Blood Sugar era much more. Whatever, this new song is like a dull b-side.

EDIT - Wait, Stadium was their latest album? I thought By the Way was. Huh, I just assumed Stadium was released after One Hot Minute, considering how everyone seems to hate the darn thing.

Like I expected, the band is immediately a different band entirely without John Frusciante, but the song is alright. I still have hopes that it will be a good album, different, but still good.

I thought Stadium Arcadium was an album that should've had less songs, but there are definitely some killer songs in it (special mention to She's only 18). It had a lot of commercial pop though. Californication is also amazing, By The Way is not very RHCP but I liked it anyway. Anything from before also rules. This song, I liked it but it was nothing special. Like it was missing something.

Why did Frusciante leave again? Burnout or inner turmoil? It's no coincidence that all albums he features on are my favorites. Well, except Stadium Arcadium, but that's only because it's bloated to hell. Were it a single disc, it wouldn't have been so mediocre.

Not feeling this song, damn shame. Hopefully it'll be the sole weak link.

Can't wait for the 30th of August to get my hands on the new CD!

'The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie' can't compare to previous singles but artists change with time so I guess we'd have to give the whole CD a listen before judging if it's crap. At the end of the day it still has managed to preserve the RHCP vibe!

I like the tone of the lead guitar in the chorus, but the solo doesn't do much for me and the rest of the tune is pretty dull even by modern Chili Peppers standards. Still, colour me mildly interested in the album.

What's Frusciante up to nowadays? I enjoyed the stuff he did last year wirth Omar Rodriguez Lopez, but I really want a new solo album.

I love this band, and I really enjoy this song.

Definitely not a "premiere" song for an album but a good track.

Can't wait for this album to hit.

Yeah, if any band didn't need to make a double album it was RHCP. Stadium Arcadium was such a snooze.

how do I slip unnoticed out of a gloryhole booth?
I expected more considering Klinghoffer is a rather cool bro. Sounds like it could have been kinda cool if they yanked the microphone away from Kiedis and focused more on some of Klinghoffer's guitar.

And killed those damned cow bells. god damn.

I was more interested in the tatas on the 2nd page.

With all the hype, I was expecting a Mother's Milk beater. Now I have my doubts

Good song. I haven't heard a RHCP album I haven't liked. Really looking forward to this.

Now if only I could also have some more NIN, life would be complete.

Its a good song but i dont think it has a real edge. Its not particually catchy and the whole song kinda feels like it plods along without coming to any real ending.

i like the chillis but they are fighting a losing battle as people will always compare new albums to their classic songs like californication ect ect meaning unless the new songs are incredible they will never really find their feet

Turned it off half-way. Dear god, I cannot believe how lifeless this all sounds. And I'm really not digging the guitar work I've heard so far. That solo midway is wannabe-Frusciante, and failing miserably. Scratch that, all the guitarwork is trying to be Frusciante-like and failing miserably.

I am dissapoint.

I guess I just grew up on old, fan-fucking-tastic Chili Peppers that whenever I hear anything new from By the Way on, I shudder. Give me Mother's Milk / BSSM any day of the week over never hearing them again.

Mothers Milk/BSSM/One Hot Minute - God Tier
RHCP/Freaky Styley/UMPP/By The Way - Great
Californication - Meh
Stadium Arcadium - Farting into a microphone to a Chad Smith drum track.

Why post about this and new Foo Fighters?

Nostalgia?

Why post about anything?

Fucking troll.

Anyway, to actually contribute to the conversation, I think the new track is middle of the road Chili Peppers. If placed correctly within a more bombastic album it could be better. I like it more than anything on SA.

Also, the lack of love for By The Way always surprises me.
