:O

mushiking is already over 500k on the gba and still in the top 10! it's huge! i imagine you'll be able to unlock stuff if you have the gba cart plugged in the ds.

treasure's bleach is looking really nicely drawn, it could/should be good.

is there any word on whether monkey ball is a port of the first gc game, or if it has any new levels?

in the famitsu shots, it definately had some levels from the first monkey ball. I didn't see any new levels.

*prays for new smb1 style levels*

i really like the toon shaded style :)

yeah, i agree. smb2 didn't have the quality of level design the first one had.

i can't remember this level, does anyone recognise it?

Siren DS? That's just a similarity in the translation / title, right -- there's no port of the PS2 Resident Evil clone, I'm guessing.

It's the Fushigi no Dungeon game that was massive on the N64 back in the day.

How does this work? Shouldn't it still have AiAi on the bottom screen to roll?

I wouldn't think so, racing always controlled a bit different, I would think dpad would be better for this mode.

There are videos popping up of Sonic Riders and Shadow the Hedgehog, has anything poppped up for SEGAs DS games? I'd love to see Monkeyball in action.

I really don't like what they've done to Monkey Ball :(

Seems like the levels of Super Monkey Ball 1, with a deformed Aiai, and ugly digitised looking backgrounds.

Oh well, there still might be a Super Monkey Ball 3 on Revolution I guess.

oh noes. I'm pretty sure thats a level on the fire levels of monkeyball 2. I think that platform thing coils in and out, so you have to get to the end of the coil before it comes back in again.

oh well. give me a shit load of stages and some tricky to get to levels with no cheats and I'll buy. put it online though please! hope the controls are good.

September 7, 2005 - Sega's Monkey Ball is a guaranteed riot wherever it ends up, be it on GameCube, Xbox, PS2 or even Game Boy Advance. Now DS owners will be able to get in on the fun as Sega brings Super Monkey Ball DS to the platform. The game is unveiled in the latest issue of Famitsu.

Monkey Ball DS features the same basic gameplay idea as its predecessors, although a shift in control to the stylus ought to make for a different feel. The top screen displays the action in 3D. The bottom screen shows a 2D version of your monkey ball with AiAi inside. To move on the top screen, you scratch the monkey ball with the stylus. AiAi's expressions change depending on the situation.

The game will offer over 100 stages, some pulled from previous entries and some new. In addition, you can look forward to six party games, of which two will be playable by up to four players. We currently know of a hockey-style party game where you draw lines with the stylus in order to deflect a puck. The game will also have a racing party game with the top screen showing a map of the track. Presumably, this mode will use a more traditional control scheme.

Super Monkey Ball DS is currently 60% complete and is set for Japanese release in December.

Monkey ball is one excellent game! My DS need this!

More than 100 stages with old and news ones is more than enough to pickup this game!

I have a massive question mark on the control......

*prays for good control*

Sounds like no Wi-Fi. Disappointing, but not unexpected. But the rest sounds and looks fantastic... mostly. The environments look a bit dull and grainy, but I get the impression that it's one of those games you have to see in motion to get the visual style. I love the new look for Aiai. He is cel-shaded on the upper screen isn't he? In the racing screen, the characters look very much like 2D sprites.

Oh my goodness... Mushiking DS is going to once again push the DS sales through the roof. It is going to be an interesting Christmas in terms of DS sales...

And Siren DS... that makes 2 Myterious Dungeon games already on the DS. Please give us the original, Toruneko no Daibouken!

interestingly sega is re-releasing a budget 'happy price' feel the magic for 2,100 yen (~$19) on oct 6th 05, just before the release of the sequel on oct 20th 05.

i wonder if the ds will see budget releases worldwide?

play Pac'n Roll for a preview!

this is out now?

edit: oh right, the standard euro shaft. Nintendo should have worked harder to get awars and the dogs and pac n roll (not so much probably) on shelves before psp came.

Pac 'n Roll is quite good. a little short, but makes up for it with some really creative challenges using the scenery [Like not eating any Pac-Dots, where you basically fling yourself around to avoid them].

DVDBoxoffice has it, and I *think* EUR's can get it from www.dvdcrave.com.au, who have a pretty good price on it too.
