so absolutely no hope for a PS4 beta also?
Lmao that thread title
I guess that's one way of saying "CFN patch and new character delayed"
Any chance at all the new content could include an arcade mode? Things seem to have gone very quiet on that.
Arcade mode in SFV is the eternal carrot in front of the horses mouth.
AKA it ain't comin b

At this point I feel that the game gains nothing doing an arcade mode, survival is similar to that and gives you an actual challenge without doing eight cpu matches and an overly broken boss in the end, story wise I don't even know who is supposed to be the big boss im SFV
On PS4 you can't use the stuff that you buy through PSN, on your other accounts. I have a pre-order costume for Chun-Li yet I can't use it on my EU account since I've bought it from NA PSN.
I basically can't buy any DLCs for this game, thanks to them locking your PSN contents to one account.
Oh, I see.
That's not my main account. I don't use it for anything else other than buying PS4 games from NA PSN. All of my save files (including everything that I've done with SFV) are on my EU account and that's the account that I use to play with friends. Not to mention that I've had that since my PS3 days. So, it would be a pretty big inconvenience to switch to my NA account now.
You didn't play the Story mode I guess?
Survival is in no way a replacement. One round? No option to retry after a loss? Don't you see why the majority of people (the casual players) who are clamouring for Arcade Mode dislike Survival?

I only played the individual stories, the global story mode was terrible from the first second that I played it and didn't tried to go any further.
And casual players will not start buying the game now if an arcade mode is included, the only way to attract casuals will be if you manage to make the game an attractive game as service and e-sport to engage

Story Mode is better than Survival.
And I don't know about your last sentence. Every time Capcom posts ANYTHING SFV related on social media, the comments are inundated with people asking "when is Arcade??". The last thing they care about is the game as a service model and esports.
How can you look forward to something when we don't even know who it is, let alone how they play?Ah man, I was looking forward to that next season 2 character.
Casuals don't give two fucks about esports, or getting destroyed in all holes online. I don't understand someone saying that's what casuals want. Casuals want the Street Fighter experience they've been having for 25+ years. A simply arcade mode.

The CFN update aims to improve the online experience, so there's that.Until they make this game fun to play alone/online the game will continue to be ass. It's an abysmal game to play alone IMO.

Can't you just mimic the feel of the arcade mode by making vs. CPU matches? Or going into survival mode? I understand that maybe it's a bit more frustrating to do it this way, but it feels like there are modes in there that closely enough mimic a classic "arcade" mode that it's not a pressing priority for Capcom. As a casual, I can attest to this post's accuracy.
Played the story modes, would love to play the game more often. But there's still no arcade mode.

Good to know that at least someone feels the same way.I feel your pain and wish they fix this, it's so annoying, I need to change users every time on my PS4 just to play this game.

I would argue casual SF has always been about both those things. Arcade mode was something fun to do when your friends weren't available. And personally I only really knew one guy who gave a shit about fighters growing up so a lot of my time was spent in single player.Casual SF wasn't sitting around with arcade mode, it was fucking around in vs. with your friends.
.
Funnily enough fighters are the only genre I ever play online largely because I don't feel I'm bothering anyone by being a bad opponent, they can just mop me up and move on. In team based situations I feel more self conscious that I'm letting my team mates down.Team based games get the latitude to be as complex and unforgiving as they want, because of the psychological factor of scrubs blaming everybody else for everything that goes wrong. SF lacks that, and that's the true hill Capcom needs to overcome to get casuals to stick with their fighting games.

Arcade mode will satisfy a handful of vocal people on places like GAF who like to feel like they "beat" games, but actual casual players are still stuck in a position where local multiplayer isn't as common anymore and online play has people who know combos from YouTube grinding it out at the lowest possible levels.
Hope you like carrots.
90% or arcade players of my area only played arcade mode in all the fighters they released. You underestimate greatly how much gamers bought (and still buy) their fighters to play it solo.
LOL
Yeah, that's what I expected them to do as well. But instead they just locked everythingThey should have done it such that if you unlock a char with Fight money its tied to your account.( Since ur technically unlocking just like any other Fighting game , and it might lead to issues since anyone can just create a new account and keep getting a lot of fight money )
But if you actually "Buy" the character or season pass with real money. all accounts should get access to it like any other DLC.

I'd actually be more likely to buy DLC if there was an arcade mode because then there's more reason to own characters other then my main. I don't see a point in playing online with characters I suck with but in arcade/ladder modes I like to try everyone.
The guy was working on the online backend, which is plausible during production. But that's not netcode.Wasn't what he said true though? The 1 guy thing?

You are correct, back in the 90's the street fighter 2 fever in Japan was thanks to the arcade mode, people there were not that hot on the versus aspect of the game
The thing is, those were the days when you could play an arcade game with just 50 cents now you can't sell a 60 dollars game just on an arcade mode alone, which will feel like a barebones compared to other genres, or even other fg like the netherrealm ones which put a lot of emphashis on production.
LOL
Yeah, that's what I expected them to do as well. But instead they just locked everything![]()
Yea its seriously annoying , but I am assuming its something thats pretty deeply integrated so it might be changed any time soon. Heck there are so many issues with the game , I really doubt the community would ever make a noise about this.
Hopefully there might be some disc release with DLC on the disc , instead of a download voucher or something.
