New Sifu gif showing off female protagonist

It looks great! Its gameplay seems really appealing to me, being front and center, as it should be for every game.
Really looking forward to this one.

Given how I'm a huge martial arts fan I love this game already. The fight choreography looks incredible

This game looks really interesting. However, it's only been these canned sequences that look great, but don't tell much about the scope and scale of the game. I just hope that there's a solid game built around what looks like a good combat engine.

I think I missed that one!

(The game is not really in black and white)

This is the combat system yakuza games should have.

Imagine...

Imagine if devs were inspired enough to see a better combat system than theor own an actually try to adapt to their game.

We'd have so many goat status games.

Nah, yakuza protagonist are violent brawlers not technical fighters, that combat system is too clean and rhythmic for a yakuza game imo.

I think that kiwami 2 had a decent combat system already.

Yakuza series is already the GOAT. Yakazu isn't about martial arts and also not as self serious.

I'm not a big martial arts enthusiast, but honestly this game does nothing to excite me. Hard pass

Nah, yakuza would straight up be a better game with a combat system like this.

Theres a reason why were marveling at this games combat, and not something like yakuza's.
Its too cartoony, basic, and ps2 era.

Yakuza would borderline feel like a raid film with this.

Its okay to say something is just straight up better guys lol the sooner we do that the sooner we'd get better/evolved systems in every game franchise.

It's also okay to accept other people opinions, you like this combat system for yakuza, me and many others, not much, there is not an absolute truth for everyone.

Sifu was always associated to rise to honor since his first trailer in every topic we had here, and rise to honor is a ps2 game, let that sink for a moment...

Sifu combat system may look more refined than yakuza combat but i bet my ass that is gonna be far less varied in term of super moves or even fight styles if we consider stuff like yakuza 0 with 3 completely different styles.

If the combat is even half as satisfying as it was in Sleepy Dogs this game is going to be baller.

Two questions that determine if this game will be good:

1. Can I eat pork buns in this game
2. Can I put someone's head between a car door and kick that door really hard

Really?! I thought that sleepy dogs had one of the most easiest and less varied rendition of free flow combat...even the mordor games have more challenge\variety...

Not bad per se, just unremarkable.

Yeah but your opinion is gonna stagnate that franchise, so that sucks. But okay i guess lol

Its like saying elder scrolls should take nothing away from say dark messiah from a sword play standpoint or witcher 3 from a quest writing standpoint because "its what that game does man". Usually devs cop out on that when they cant or dont want to do the work to accept a bar has been raised in an area; and adjust accordingly.

Imo taking the strengths from multiple different franchises and building upon it in your own, is what progresses the medium. *imo*

Pretty sure a combat showcase game, with a new engine designed specifically for it, and the game focused around it going to have a stronger more nuanced system than yakuzas. But thats just my interpretation.

Because i dont picture sifus system as easily being done on ps2...can I say the same for yakuza? Nope. So one system is outdated, while the other doing something interesting

It's almost hard to actually comprehend the idea of going into a thread about a small studios new ip that many love the look of just to shit on it.

I wouldn't consider that "shitting on it". I just don't think it seems as great as the comments before me made it out to be. Opinions and all.

Except yakuza combat, especially the latest iterations is not remotely as bad as skyrim combat...

The big problem is that they are too easy even on hard, but i enjoyed the combat in 0 and kiwami 2, especially in the one with the dragon engine the movements are heavy but still reactive and the sense of power when you hit enemies is low key one of the best in brawler history, i never get tired of blasting motherfuckers.

And you have a lot of moves between counters, combo etc, unfortunately you don't need to use them because the game are pretty easy except some rare difficulty spike.

I don't want dmc level of complexity from a yakuza game, sure they can do better, but we are not on skyrim level, not even close, that thing was horrid.

No its nkt nearly as bad as skyrims, and i dont even MIND yakuzas combat at all, its perfectly okay.

In the same way im fine wirh gta 5's combat, because yakuza and GTA are still great.

Im just thinking in terms of what would make it like...the best game ever made lol
